What color is this 1x12 technic brick? We got a couple from Legoland, but it
doesn't look like it's a color that has been produced in the last 10
years. My best guess is either dark blue-violet or blue-violet, but I don't
have any parts in those colors to verify. It looks like a darker version of dark
azure with just a little bit of green in it.

Thanks,
Brock

Same reason that items in a store should link to the catalog, but don't - and yes, they should - you think you're fooling anyone? I cut and paste the item number and look it up anyway, you just make it tedious for me.

Just open the link to the picture of the item in a new tab and remove the '&viewtype'
bit at the end of the url. That'll take you to the catalog picture which
is a couple clicks to the price guide. Still a few steps, but it saves you a
copy/paste.

Thank you.

I'm still confused as to why some sellers think it's BL's responsibility.
You yourself made your individual rules, it's your job to enforce them.

You could also think about it like this;
Government makes the rules and officers enforce those rules. But officers get
paid to enforce said rules.
So you could get your coding placed to regulate your limits if you wish to pay
for it. You really shouldn't demand others do what you want without some
form of compensation

Who else could do the coding for lot limits besides BrickLink? If it were actually
possible for individual sellers to do themselves, it would already exist and
he wouldn't be asking for the feature in the forum. I don't quite get
what you're trying to say.

Chris,

I haven't received pre-invoice payments in quite some time. Have you updated
the order notification email from the default one? I changed the top line after
the title to say this:

(BUYERUSERNAME) bought some LEGO from (SELLERSTORENAME)!
Brock will send (BUYERUSERNAME) an invoice within the next 24 hours with the grand total for the order including shipping.

Once I did this, I found a lot fewer pre-payment errors occurred. The whole 'contact
within 3 days' thing is a bit ambiguous and I felt it was cause for some
confusion.

Has anyone suggested www.wepay.com as a new payment service? If not, I'd like
to throw it out there as a Paypal replacement. They charge 3.5%, minimum of $0.50,
so the sweet spot falls between $6 and $50 to beat Paypal on price. Up to $100
will run about $0.30 more than Paypal's 2.9% and $0.30 fees. From what I've read,
very similar to Paypal, except they will process Buyer payments direct from bank
accounts (ACH), still just $0.50. Check it out and let me know if you spot anything
outside normal or may be a problem.

For that style of ACH bank account transaction, Dwolla.com is a whole lot cheaper
(free under $10, $.25 total over $10) *Not that WePay it isn't a valid service,
just not very optimally priced.

And therefore, it should be included in both a palette of "greens" as well as
in a palette of "blues" if such a color range searching scheme were devised.

Maybe if it was separate from the current Favorites process. Not everyone necessarily
uses these tools in the same way.

For instance, one of my "least favorites" states "Remind the seller not to ship
with prepaid mailer" or something similar. It's basically a note for ME when
(if) I place an order there.

Same with Most Favorite. I generally use these as a perpetual shopping cart.
If I'm in a store and there's some good prices on something I want, I will add
them to my favorites and include the item numbers in the Remarks. That way, if
I end up in the store again to buy in the future, I know to check if they still
have the parts I was interested in before. It has nothing to do with whether
the store is actually one of my "favorites".

Marc.

That's a pretty cool use of most/least favorite that I had not thought of. On
a side note: what's the deal with prepaid mailers?

It would be nice to have this status for payments that have been sent, but not
yet received (ie. Money Order, PayPal eCheck, etc.).

The intent is to prevent order additions to an order once payment is initiated
by the buyer as well as correctly define the current status of the order.

In essence it would work the same as the "packed" or "paid" status, but with
a new, more appropriate, and descriptive name.

Thanks!
Jonathan

Hi,
already exists.
"Separate order payment status from order status" on your orders received page:
http://www.bricklink.com/orderSettings.asp

Regards
Ronald

I know about that function, but if used it would still leave a problem with having
to mark an order as "packed" when not really packed to prevent additions once
payment is initiated. I can see how the separate status boxes can help, but
at the same time it defeats the purpose of using the correct status for where
the order is in the placing/filling/packing/shipping process.

Now, if a payment status (when separate) of something other than "none" blocked
additions it would work as needed. Anyone know if this is the case?

Jonathan

I agree with most of your conclusions in this matter. I do not know if 'clearing'
payment status blocks order additions or not because I always set the order status
to 'packed' if payment status is 'clearing'. When I do my filtering to see which
orders actually need shipping, I filter both 'payment status: received' and 'order
status: packed' and then any 'clearing' ones don't show up falsely in the list.
I think this method covers your issues, but it does take monitoring an additional
status.

Sorry about that. Pretty sad when you misspell your own name!
Here's what I wrote with my name properly spelled:

My first thought was 'Absolutely Not!' but then I read your second sentence and
I think that is a fine idea to help prevent problems with easily mistakable parts.

Please remove the "LOTS IN MY INVENTORY NOT YET NOTIFIED" notice from a stores
MyBrickLink page. Or at least allow a seller to turn off this item. There is
a checkbox to enable or disable the notice, but it does not work. The notice
is there and the checkbox doesn't change that. And yes, I have used the "submit"
button.

I have tried on multiple occassions to "notify" others of what is in my inventory.
Every time, the system times out with some sort of error.

Can I please just have the option to make this notice go away.

Thanks,
David

When I've run into this issue, (it can sometimes happen when you part out a set
with many parts even if you send out the notifications regularly) I just stockroom
any category that contains many lots in my store (brick, brick modified, plate,
plate modified, etc.) and then send out notifications for only the remainder.
If it still times out, stockroom a few more categories until it doesn't. Once
it works, un-stockroom the categories and re-send notifications.

When I send an email through BrickLink's system, I would like for the responder
to be able to reply ONLY through BL, and not to my email address.

We have an address we use strictly for BL business and therefore, rarely check
it because we read our messages on BL. On occasion, we miss an email from someone
because they hit reply from their inbox instead of replying through BL's system.
This also prevents a record of the correspondence on the order transaction details.
(We REALLY like that feature, BTW!)

Could this be accomplished by not including the sender's email address on correspondence
(when they receive it in their email inbox instead of reading it through BL)?
Instead could there be a link in the message with something like 'click here
to reply to this message' that would direct them back to BL?

I significantly prefer communication within my email account (Gmail) rather than
the BL messaging system. The main reasons I prefer email is the search functionality
and the essentially infinite archive capacity. To block the ability to reply
via email would be a terrible move in my opinion! I suppose an optional way to
contact back to the messaging system from their email wouldn't hurt though.

  Ok,
I would like to be able to flag any order, regardless of date to my action items
page. So the page might read.
1 order not invoiced.
2 orders not shipped
2 orders flagged

This feature would help me out a lot. If I have a buyer that hasn't paid, and
I need to file a npb I can flag that order. If I have a buyer who asked where
their package is, and I want to keep an eye on the order I can flag it. If I've
made special arrangements with a buyer on pay or something else, I can flag that
order. Basically anything that might need my attention today or two weeks from
now can get flagged.

Anyone else like this idea? Please vote yes.

Katie

On your order received screen, choose to show the note on the right, and write
what you would flag.
My Order Notes: As Icons | On the Right of Each Line | Below Each Line

Sure, adding a 'my note on order' can be helpful, but the suggested flagging
technique would be simpler to monitor and easier to find. With less than 20 orders,
a note can be spotted relatively easily, but when you have hundreds of open orders,
it's not so easy. I have problem orders that fall to page 2,3, or 4 and they
can be hard to find on the my orders received page.

I voted yes, btw!
