| Hi,
as a buyer, I found having only two choices for parts condition is far too basic
and not useful, mostly for buyers, but also for sellers who seek accuracy and
honesty regarding their inventory.
I mean, for now a seller can only pick new or used, but pretty much everyone
has his/her own standard and I got some used parts which are like new, some others
which are closer to the one way ticket to trash, if you see what I mean .
It's not good nor practical to force seller to put actual picture(s) of all
the used parts, both hobbyist and professional has better use of their time I
guess.
Plus, asking for every single part before ordering is not good either, some sellers
didn't took time to reply to potential buyer's question already.
And when seller put description, it's quite subjective, one adjective is
far to describe actual shape of a part: "bite marks, yellowish", ok but how many
marks, how deep ?
how much "yellowished" is the brick ?
Some may claims "quite good", some other "I can't send them to trash".
A quality score could be added to a used part. It would be used as well to set
the sell price, as trash-ready used parts can lower the infamous "average 6 months"
and lower ALL prices, which is very unfair for like new parts.
Any thoughts?
|
Who will control the scores.

rebrickable.com already does this

I think it's possible this way:
Click the add to Wantlist button on the order details page or after checkout.
Or add the items in Wantlist icon in the settings of the orders Placed page.
Download the Wantlist and upload it to your inventory.

I think to avoid errors. The more different sets in one go the more likely to
have errors.

from three copies of five different sets and pack everything away once, rather
than having to go through the whole part out process five times.

Let's say a minifig is inventoried with a b-blocked style head.
Would a minifig assembly be considered complete if it has the alternate head
c-hollow style given that the this style head is technically only an alternate
part for the set inventory that the minifig came in and not the minifig itself.
Some minifig entries have a note saying something like: "This minifigure has
been found with both the 'b' and 'c' style head."
I would consider it complete, but I could see an OCD collector expecting the
'correct' head style per the BL figure assembly. Even if 'correct'
is just arbitrarily which ever style was found by the first user when adding
to the catalog.
Obviously, this only applies to figures produced during the great transition
period.
|
It is complete if it can come with an alternate head.

| It happens a buyer says he didn't receive the items. When shipping using
an untracked medium, there is no way in verifying if the claim is legit. So I
usually make no fuss and either refund the total order amount (including shipping)
or re-send it (if I have the items in stock).
In these cases, I sometimes get the feeling the buyer might have done this before
and actually has received the items. But as I said: there is no proof, since
no tracking. Then I wonder: "has this buyer done this in the past before with
other sellers?". There is no way in knowing. And that's why I think a buyer
should get some sort of parameter/rating stating the number of orders that were
refunded due to non-arrival. It seems like a small feature. Not really that important,
but if it were there, it would give some extra statistics in the long run as
well.

| I'm new in this forum, please let me know if I should use a different topic.
I'm not getting through the currently available baseplates. How can I sort
by plate size in the Bricklink catalog? For example, how would I find out if
there is currently a 32x32 baseplate in (Light Bluish) Gray?
I find it hard to see through. E.g., the 48x48 plates are listed as part 4186,
but it says: Years Released: 1980 - 2016. If I'm looking for sets, for example,
the 10701 appears, which has been sold since 2015 and still is according to Lego
online store.
So the listing 4186 is incorrect in saying that there is no current 48x48 baseplate.
When I search baseplate in sets, no sizes are displayed, it can not be sorted
by year.
Thank you

Sort by 'Item name' and then order 'Up'.

| Hello everyone,
We are pleased to announce that we have made another appointment. StormChaser,

to Catalog Administrator.
This is an important step for BrickLink. We haven't had a Catalog Admin appointment
for over nine years, and this is the first time someone has moved from the Inventories
side of the system to the Catalog side.
We believe StormChaser is highly qualified for this position. In addition to
an outstanding year as an Inventories Admin, he has had years of intense experience
with every area of the BrickLink Catalog. He has made many thousands of corrections,
uploaded an enormous amount of new data, and has solved a number of LEGO mysteries
over the years. So we're very pleased he has agreed to accept this position,
and we look forward to his activity in this new area.
We will be be making another appointment soon to fill his former position as
Inventories Administrator.

Besides being happy with specific Sellers and therefore wanting to use them again,
I've also found that when I'm trying to put together orders, the slightly
higher cost of the item is often offset by the savings on shipping by keeping
the order to a smaller number of sellers. I find that I'm often scrolling
