We have the option to exclude incomplete sets from searches but I'm coming
across a lot of instructions entries that are missing parts and I'd like
to filter them out as I'm looking for complete ones.

I'm not suggesting disallowing individual parts as people may need them to
complete a set.

Just an idea I’m putting out there for future consideration because with colour
abbreviations it can give you useful options for catalog use/navigation!

For starters I glanced at all the different colours and it didn’t appear to be
too difficult to give each colour a suitable 3 Letter abbreviation though it
goes without saying that a few colours may be forced to have a 4 letter abbreviation
but they will likely be just a very few obscure colours such as Very Light Bluish
Grey (VLBG) or Trans Light Bright Green (TLBG) but even if it became problematic
some colours may not even benefit as much from the need to have an abbreviation
compared to the more widely and commonly used colours

Either way here are just a few quick abbreviation examples:-

Black – BLK
White – WHT
Reddish Brown – RBR
Dark Brown – DBR
Light Bluish Grey – LBG
Dark Bluish Grey – DBG
Dark Grey – DGR
Red – RED
Blue – BLU
Dark Blue – DBL
Green – GRN
Olive Green – OGN
Tan – TAN
Dark Tan – DTN
Orange – ORG
Dark Orange – DOR
Yellow – YEL

It’s also worth mentioning that the idea would be to have these abbreviations
on display wherever we see colour descriptions which is pretty much anywhere
in the catalog and so if we had abbreviations like this I don’t think it would
take long for people to memorize them and put them to good use so that instead
of searching for ‘Dark Tan hair’ they can just search ‘DTN hair’ or instead of
‘Light Bluish Gray Helmets’ they can just search ‘LBG Helmets’. The other benefit
is that where space is limited in descriptions a Torso could contain ‘RBR Belt
Buckle’ instead of ‘Reddish Brown Belt Buckle’

However once you have colour abbreviations in places their uses can be extended
in other ways too for instance if they are combined with a minifigure part to
create a unique combined colour/part reference such as Legs-DBR (Dark Brown Legs)
or Torso-GRN (Green Torso) these combos can be exclusively used to narrow down
search results for minifigures in ways where you barely need to worry about trying
to guess or work out what keywords have been used and in some cases you won’t
even need to know the name of the character!

For Example if I start with this Henry Minifigure description in its most basic
form it would look something like this:-

Henry - Torso-RBR, Hair-DTN, Head-LNO, Legs-OGN

Granted it’s not the most visually pleasing of minifig descriptions and right
now you’re probably thinking it looks a confusing mess but translated it basically
reads ‘Reddish Brown Torso, Dark Tan Hair, Light Nougat Head and Olive Green
Legs

Now even before I add keywords to that description or even if it already had
keywords and I wasn’t sure what keywords to try? If I had that minifig in my
hand and I didn’t know the name of the character I will at least still be reassured
that with a simple search for some or all of those main minifig part colours
it will either bring up what I’m looking for or narrow it down considerably.

For example if I search for say both ‘Hair-DTN Legs-OGN’ that Henry minifig will
be the only minifigure match that comes up because it’s the only minifigure in
the catalog that currently includes both Dark Tan hair and Olive Green Legs.
Now even if I search for both ‘Hair-DTN Head-LNO’ I’m sure I will still only
get a very small page of matches and that’s before I’ve even attempted to narrow
down with character names Like Luke or Han or the colour/description of the torsos/legs
etc etc...

Essentially if minifigure descriptions were laid out in a format something like
this:-

Minifig Character/Type (*) - Torso/Arms-COLOUR (*), Hair/Headgear-COLOUR(*),
Head-COLOUR (*), Legs/Hips-COLOUR (*), (*Other Keywords)

where the (*) represents where keywords can be added for each core minifigure
component (as/when necessary) it would then mean a revised and more detailed
example of the Henry Minifigure might look something like this even though the
description may not need to be quite as detailed for helping to find this particular
minifig:-

Henry - Torso-RBR, Arms-WHT (Brown Waistcoat, White Tunic), Hair-DTN (Swept Back
Ponytail), Head-LNO (DS, Open Mouth Smile/Worried), Legs-OGN

Its worth mentioning that the ‘DS’ after head represents Double Sided Head (SS
= Single Sided) which would allow you to narrow down even further with just a
couple of extra letters added within search criteria

However one thing to also notice is that you can still search for specific colours
such as the ‘White’ print details found on legs or torsos such as the white tunic
without needing to worry about it bringing up core components in white as they
will only come up if you search ‘Arms-WHT’, Legs-WHT, Torso-WHT, Head-WHT, Hair-WHT
whereas searching for white alone would mean the colour can be set aside for
prints allowing you to be more specific with your overall minifig search results...

Here are a few more examples of how similar minifigs might look:-

I appreciate in might not be to everyone’s liking but it does for the most part
seem to work and I’m pretty sure I could even use it to tackle all those samey
spider-man minifigs without having to worry too much about relying on vague (Web
Pattern) keywords and focusing more on the definitive colours of Torsos, legs,
hips, arms and definitive styles such as printed/legs arms etc…

But again just some ideas for another day perhaps?

So I want to create an xml file out of a normal bricklink parts list or stud.io
file. Is there any way this is possible without having to manually type each
individual letter to make the xml file?

Hello community,

I probably have missed the correct option to select, but heres my problem and
suggestion anyways.

I´ve ran into trouble with instant checkout on my little store, while buyers
have items ordered, which have no dimensions listed.

Since most lego parts are lightweight, for example the letter option (20/75g)
will be used if only weight (or nothing) is , and the restriction for height
(max 5mm for a letter austrian post) does no efect.

So shipping costs for example are set to 1€ for instant checkout, but with the
real dimensions of the item costs will be like 5,60 €.

I guess you get what I mean.

Is there any option already implemented?
"Backup for instant checkout" does not solve my problem

Would it be good to add an option in the settings, if items do not have dimensions
saved, and the buyer has one or more of them in the shopping-cart when checking
out, a warning should be shown and only QUOTE will be available?


I think this would be a great addition for both sellers and buyers. I appreciate
to get the correct shipping costs before I pay myself. And not having a discussion
after, maybe resulting in a bad feedback for no reason.

A couple of days ago I looked into some of my wanted lists to find several parts
marked as not applicable. I then went back to the catalogue entries and found
the issue. when adding an item to a wanted list before selecting a colour, the
image that shows is a coloured one, not one asking you to pick a colour. People
who just take a glance are fooled by a coloured image. I think it would be worth
adding a generic image, one that says please pick a colour or something like
that. The image below shows what I mean

I'd really like the see the order total in my Wanted search results. One
store may charge $20 for the parts I need, the one next to it charges $0.20.
I could save a lot of clicking and time by knowing which stores are not worth
clicking on. Sorting by price should come with this. Thanks!

Hello,

it would be nice to have the option to create a general coupon what i can give
to customers for example what they can use the next time. At the moment there
is only the option to create a coupon directly to one user.

Whats your opinion?

If a buyer pays for an order outside of the Bricklink invoice, there's no
way to mark the order as shipped or complete. We've had several instances
of this in our store and the most we can do is mark the order as "packed". Please
expand these options.

Please move the time for the daily maintenance (and any other site updates) to
a time when BrickLink staff are available to troubleshoot and fix problems.

Since BrickLink is global, having the site down for a few minutes will always
inconvenience someone. As your tech support is not 24/7, it makes sense to make
changes to the site when someone is around to fix problems.

It would show us all that you are serious about addressing the issues around
here and that international sellers shouldn't have to bear the brunt of unexpected
errors.

Why must buyers search for items with marked down prices in a store?

Please make a specials category on the left navigation frame on top of sets which
include items on sale or any other special interest items with the lot count
next to such items as well. So that instead of all the sets a seller has to offer
being the first thing a buyer sees, have a specials and sale items category first
which can be navigated in the same manner as sets, parts or anything else (this
might make it easier to see custom items as well).

We've had this situaton happen a couple of times in the past:

A new or new-ish user to the site places and order and receives it. There is
either a part missing, something that got broken in transit or any other situation.

The user, not being used to dealing with the platform, goes to the order and
sees the 'report a problem' link. They click it, follow the instructions
and then BLAM! we have an NSS to deal with. When we explain the situation to
them they understand that they should have sent a message and they remove the
NSS but this is counterintuitive.

If someone clicks on the 'report a problem' link the system should work
differently. Example, they click the link, select that a part was missing
or whatever and then they get a popup with two choices. One is contact buyer
and sends a message, the other is create an NSS and it has something like 'I
contacted the buyer and did not receive a response for 24 hours and want to go
ahead with further escalation' or something to that effect.

This would make things easier on everyone and help educate customers better.

Last time we received such an NSS, the client removed it and said that he had
realized that he had made the mistake himself while ordering, this never should
have been escalated. NSS is a process that requires a lot more work to resolve
than simple messages.

What's the process for color selection when making the little "swatch" next
to every color in the catalog? My guess is taking a picture of a part and eyedropping
the color in Photoshop. For the less straightforward colors like trans, chrome,
speckled, etc. how do you decide what's the best representation of them as
one solid color?

Going along with that, I think it would be cool if those special colors had more
unique swatches. For example, glitter's look like regular colors, so I think
there should be little shiny dots to separate it from the solid colors. Speckled
should be speckled with their respective colors. Obviously it would be a ridiculous
priority for admins, but it would be a nice detail maybe someday.

Many times I run into the problem that the auto cart creating feature creates
unnecessary carts. It does that because that other store has the part a bit cheaper.
So it saves like 0.1 Euro. However, the extra card creates an extra 3-4 Euro
shipping cost.
Would it be possible to add the following features.

Filter not only for seller Country but to seller City/Location. This would facilitate
personal pickup to cut down on the shipping.
Also add an input field for a flat shipping cost figure. In my country, the domestic
shipping cost is about 4 Euro. If I could add that into the equation, I think
Bricklink would cut down on the needless carts and would tend create the optimal
solution with Shipping cost included.

to pick a part category.

Just wondering.

I have a bunch of wanted lists, and I like to prioritize my lists in order to
keep track of the ones for which I am actively purchasing parts. Can you please
make it so that the organization selection of choice (in my case by "Name") stays?
Currently, when I leave wanted list and come back, the organization reverts
back to the default to arrange by "Newest". TIA!

Hi,

I was wondering if it’s possible to let people see which country they’re from
(little flags). For instance: at the feedback page of a store. So new buyers
can see directly (flag) the feedback posts of fellow countrymen. It would be
more convincing for them to buy from other countries. And with this COVID it
will help to convince them that shipping is ok from other countries.

My number of Wanted Lists has expanded into chaos. I'm working on a big project
and I would really appreciate sublists (or superlists) in the Wanted List section.
What I mean is basically the possibility to have a new list inside of a Wanted
List. For example a regular Wanted List containing a load of items AND another
list called "extra parts". Or a Wanted List called "castle" containing my castle
related lists. I hope you get the idea. Please make this happen!!

Can we lower the NPB time from 7 days to 2 days? Giving buyers almost 2 weeks
before a NPB ticket is completed is to long. If they don't respond to Bricklink
invoices, messages or emails directly in the first 5 days they shouldn't
get another 7 days.

It will be known to many that I’ve always favoured the idea of using official
Lego colour names not because I like them better or think they describe the
colours better (Many are very odd choices!) but simply because it creates less
uncertainty about what I’m selling and what the customer thinks they are buying
however I’ve made that argument already and now’s probably the time to accept
that Bricklink colour names are unlikely to match that of the Lego group!

However one thing that has always jarred me somewhat is the use of the term ‘Bluish’
to describe the greys when I’m sure if it was’nt for the need to fit around the
older existing greys already in the catalog both would have no doubt just been
given the simple description Dark/Light Grey instead of Dark/Light Bluish Grey?

The thing is the way I see it Bricklink uses its own colour names for three main
reasons:-

A) Lego never provided a colour name for them to use (at least not in the early
days!)

B) They wanted their colour names to better describe and match the actual shade
of colour!

C) They wanted their colour names to be short and to the point!

However when it comes to those last two points colours like ‘Dark Bluish Grey’
and ‘Light Bluish Grey’ both fail to meet that ideal objective compared to most
of the other colour names that have been created by Bricklink. Both descriptions
are lengthy and somewhat misleading? If anything I see more ‘Bluish Grey’ in
a colour like Sand blue than either of these two greys and when all said and
done they are basically just Light and Dark Grey?

So what does it matter and what to do?

Well because they are both what I would call very common CORE central colours
in Legos colour palette it stands to reason that we should perhaps think about
giving them the most suitably descriptive name for them (Light and Dark grey?)
after all that is what any newbie or anyone else for that matter would define
them as?

Both of these colours are ‘very current’ where as the discontinued greys are
not so current and therefore probably don’t warrant the need for the best descriptive
name for them any longer? In fact if we were to rename the existing Light and
Dark Grey as ‘Old Light Grey’ or ‘Classic Light Grey’ I think this would also
be very helpful to newbies when they are confronted with so many different shades
of grey?

I would also consider using the ‘Old/Classic’ tag for some other discontinued
colours too like Brown i.e ‘Old Brown’ I have less problem with Reddish brown
remaining as that is at least what Lego themselves call it but ‘bluish’ is a
made up bricklink term that has little relevance to the actual colour nor does
Lego use the term? Lego may have added more blue to the actual colour mix than
the old greys but in appearance they are simply intended to be a Light and Dark
Grey in a new and current form hence I feel we should refer to them as such?

Also wherever we use the term ‘Very Light’ can I suggest using the term ‘Pale’.
i.e ‘Pale Grey’ instead of ‘Very Light Bluish Grey’ as shorter names are much
easier for people to read off the site and to label/Inventory their stocks even
if that does mean some initial disruption?

Lastly shouldn’t we at least try and mirror Lego’s reference to Grey and use
‘Grey’ instead of ‘Gray’ in the descriptions?

I hope others will share the same logic in what I’m trying to suggest or perhaps
I’m barking up the wrong tree? Thoughts?

Browsing is a chore due to the very small thumbnails attached to each
set, item, etc. Please consider a listing format that can take advantage of modern
online retail listing standards. At this point, you're almost better off
browsing elsewhere (Amazon, eBay, etc), then coming here to plug in the item

I wish there was an option to put items on sale and then round to a set number
of decimal places.

You can make sales prices the base price and it gives you an option to round
there, but I would like to see an option to round at the put items on % sale
button.

There is a search filter to assist in searching for pieces within a store.

One filter option is "Hide Items if Have Qty is ≥ Want Qty"
I would love to see another filter option "Hide items if asking price max price"

You are able to set max price on wanted list items, but aren't able to do
much with that once you are shopping in a store.

When you listing sets there is box dimensions presented as test . A x B x C cm
Is there any chance to make this as interactive ?
That I'll be able to easily find boxes in same or dimensions. Sometimes you
can buy outer box and later possibly you can but internal tray. With box dimensions
as selectable or some other way interactive maybe other users will be able to
use inner box from totally other different set to complete box what currently
missing of this.

For this moment it's totally manual process to find similar boxes

Hi all,

For the second time in a week I got an order from what appears to be a scam account.
Different names and email addresses but the shipping address is the same.

The first time, the bogus feedback was removed by the admins but I was left with
the transaction costs. I guess the bogus feedback will be removed again and thankfully
this time they didn't use instant checkout so no transaction costs.

In an ideal world, I would like to be able to place the shipping address on a
stop list so that the problem is stopped at the source and I don't have to
deal with any part of it at all.

Even better, BL could maintain such a stop list and require manual verification
before buying privileges are granted again after an account is closed as bogus.
Something similar to what sellers need to do before opening a store.

For now, I've solved at least the transaction costs problem by excluding
the country from instant checkout shipping methods but I can imagine that's
not a solution for everyone, especially when such an account is domestic.

It would be a great feature to be able to update a design with a newer, improved
version. This way, you don't have to publish multiple designs that look the
same, but with only some improvements. Also, this way you can keep the comments,
views, likes, etc...

It should also be possible to calculate the difference to the original (number
of parts added, deleted, moved or changed color). This way you can check if the
new version is not too far from the original (A house can't suddenly become
a car, can't it?)

Hi Bricklink,

I would like to propose a UI option for buying parts with auto-select.
Everytime I purchase my parts, I try to minimize the number of stores due to
the additional shipping fees. Therefore, it would be good to have an option to
include the estimated shipping fees per store (for example $5 per store not necessary
to be exact) so that auto-select considers the shipping cost while still minimizing
the total cost.

Hi!

My son has several custom lego building books with a list of materials. It is
very difficult to add this list to wanted lists one by one manually.
The import function would make it much easier to order these items.
A simple import with only 2 columns: part code, quantity (csv, xls, etc.) will
be perfect for this task.

Suggestion in regards to automatic quote cancellations:

I've never received a quote cancellation myself, but assuming it doesn't
already say so, it would be beneficial that when a quote cancellation is automatically
sent by the BrickLink system due to an item being sold out, that an automated
message to the buyer is sent out and indicating which item caused the quote cancellation
trigger.

I just received yet another message from a newer buyer asking why their quote
was cancelled and they wanted to accept it. To the buyer, it looks like sellers
are cancelling their quotes, when it's simply that a part that they ordered
is no longer available.

The formula for the Wanted List Percentage does not properly calculate the percentage
of "HAVE" parts compared to the "TOTAL" Parts. Should the % shown be the amount
of "Have" pieces vs the total number of "Wanted" pieces, or is it intended to
provide some other detail? It's not showing the percent of LOTS completed,
and its not showing the percent of Parts with Have qty equaling the Want qty.
The formula seems to be working is a convoluted way, combining the percentage
for Want/Have and the percentage of Lots with any Have parts, and the total number
of lots.

Example #1 to illustrate the issue:
Wanted list with TWO lots.
Lot #1, Want 100, Have 10 (This is 10% of the want value)
Lot #2, Want 900, Have 0 (This is 0% of the want value)

The Percentage bar should show 1% (10 of 1,000), but the formula produces 5%.


Example #2 to illustrate the issue:
Lot #1, Want 100, Have 0 (This is 0% of the want value)
Lot #2, Want 900, Have 900 (This is 100% of the want value)

The percentage bar should show 90% (900 of 1,000), but the formula produces 50%.


Example #3 to illustrate the issue:
Lot #1, Want 100, Have 0 (This is 0% of the want value)
Lot #2, Want 450, Have 900 (This is 50% of the want value)

The percentage bar should show 45% (450 of 1,000), but the formula produces 25%.


In all examples, the percentage shown does not equate to anything tangible, real
or useful, and if very misleading

Unfortunately, this misinformation has led to many, many lost hours and much
frustration.

Please work to correct the formula, so that the percentage bar is a real, actual,
useful representation of the data.

If by some odd situation, the bar is performing as intended, please clarify its
intended function.

Been getting a lot of inquiries recently from newer buyers asking about our bulk
lots that are sold in multiples of x10, x50, x100.

Was thinking that maybe the text i.e (x50) or (x100) on such bulk lots could
have a blue text with a link that explains that these lots have to be purchased
in the multiples that are inside bracketed amount and a clarification that the
price is per piece and not for a lot that contain 100 pieces (yes, we get buyers
who ask if we sell a bag of 100 pins for 2 cents per bag.)
While it seems intuitive to some of us, it might be a nice gesture toward new
users.
Obviously not a priority project.

Hello. Trying to figure out pricing on some items. For example "Black Technic,
Pin with Friction Ridges Lengthwise, Staggered, with or without Center Slots"

Hi.

When I select "EU" as Seller-location search-filter, it still includes UK shops,
even thought they are no longer part of the EU.

I know there are suggestions and discussions before regarding VAT handling, which
I understand might be slightly more complicated to implement. But simply excluding
UK as part of the EU selection for filtering seems like a simple fix to me...

Hi

I have just accidentally ordered a set from a seller, because it wasn't clear
that I was about to place the order.

On Amazon, there is a final page which lists the total order amount including
shipping fees. I was trying to get to the Bricklink equivalent of this page so
that I could see how much delivery would cost, but before I knew it I had an
order confirmation number and so-on.

The fact that the order was about to be placed should be made a *lot* clearer,
especially for new users such as myself.

I managed to send a cancellation request about one minute after placing the order
- let's hope the seller is ok with it

I don't know if this idea has been floated about before, but I'm a bit
of a 'wishlist basketeer', meaning I often build baskets based on what
I feel will come in useful, or what I want, and leave it to sit. I do this with
all sorts of stores to find the best pricing and shipping costs, which can, needless
to say, get quite messy.

What I do right now is have prioritised baskets in tabs, but it's not very
tidy or efficient.

I reckon it would be useful, not just to me, but to everyone, if we could arrange
our baskets in priority order; like a drag and drop list of baskets, or a rating
system or something.

What do y'all think?

Can you please add the ability for shipping methods to be specific to provinces
(not just countries)?
Shipping rates within Canada vary depending on the destination, so a specific
shipping method would automatically generate the correct cost depending on the
buyer's location.

Hi,
I have a suggestion for the wanted list in order to be a little more visual.
What about adding color codes for the completion bar of each wanted list?
If you have several wanted lists for several items, it would be good to see them
in green only when they reach 100% so you instantly see which one you can start
building.
Then, you could have yellow for anything less than 100% and red for anything
les than 50%.
It is just my opinion, but it would give a better look at the wanted list page.

Please add (conditional) macro tags for a member's country and language.

There are a lot of tags but none for country or language. E.g. it would be nice
to send buyers messages in their own language i.c. the language they specified
to be communicated with. E.g. buyers in The Netherlands and part of Belgium could
specifiy as language Dutch. As seller it is then possible to create message templates
in different languages.

Hi there everyone,

I have recently bought my first parts from BrickLink, everything went smoothly
and i even got some parts in home!

However i just realised, that some parts in my XML list, why i bought and then
uploaded, contain some items with their color tagged as "(not applicable)", aka
the color isnt defined yet. However since this is my first buy i didnt notice
that these parts would be appointed a colour at random.

A great suggestion to prevent this from happening to me, or any new buyer is
maybe to add a small warning that you have some parts which do not have a colour
appointed.

The Email subject is fixed / not modifiable, and I would like it to be editable
to suit my store's needs. E.g. replace the word 'Invoice' with something
else.

So I suggest to make this editable, including support for the macro's
in order to be able to match the email subject better with the contents of the
invoice template.

I have a few different wanted lists, and I am often building wanted lists that
I am not quite ready for yet. It would be very useful if there was a setting
on those lists that could be set like 'hidden' or 'active' or
something similar that would allow me to keep certain lists from being checked
by default when browsing stores and similar. Basically, making the wanted list
not effect views in other areas of the platform until I'm ready for it and
'activate' it or turn it on.

Hell! It would be super useful if I could filter sellers on an item page by
what payment times they accept. For instance, there have been a number of seller
that I have looked at and gotten to the point of checking out with only to find
out that they only accept IBAN payments. If I had known at the beginning that
was the case, I never would have visited the seller's page in the first place.

Hey Bricklink,

I would love to add dimensions to my parts that don't have them, but unfortunately
they don't sell rulers that measure by studs and bricks at the hardware store.
Also, I didn't take the brick-ometry class in high school. Can you please
change the dimensions of parts to an international standard? Metric, Imperial,
I don't care, as long as more than just the users of this site know what
they mean and I can buy a ruler at the dollar store that measures them.

It would be a great help for shipping, especially when parts over a certain dimension
can't be shipped via a certain package size. I know, I can't believe
Canada Post doesn't convert bricks to centimetres, what snobs.

I hate to say this but brick owl is good for one thing, they list their measurements
in cm. Guess where I go most of the time for part dimensions? I won't spoil
it.

So in conclusion, please, please, please change the way parts are measured in
Bricklink from studs and bricks to centimetres, millimetres, or even inches (counting
by twelves - shudder).

Given all the posts about "why cant I ship to the US" and etc regarding the new
sales tax system, I think Bricklink should send a notice to all sellers (or all
sellers who ship to the USA and don't have onsite payment if that's possible)
telling them what they need to do regarding sales tax and onsite payment. I suspect
a lot of sellers just don't realize they need to use onsite payment because
of the new sales tax rules.

Would you please consider adding customer IP address country in order detail.

I've had a good number of orders going to freight forwarders usually in Delaware,
Florida and Oregon

I'd like to know what country the order is actually going to, showing the
customers geographic location based on where they ordered from would be helpful

I had to refund an order in full, due to missing sticker sheet.
Customer preferred full refund over partial refund.

The "check box" to file disappeared so it seems I'll never be able to remove
the refunded order from current orders.

Hi there,

It would be great if the country of a user could be displayed in the forum's
message lists - along with the other user information like feedback, etc. Especially
in the "Sales" forum you could then quickly deduce whether the offer might be
interesting for you or not.

As an example I'm from Germany, but many offers are from the US which are
usually not interesting to me due to high shipping costs.

It would be practical to know store's city in the case we want to do local
buying (buying bigger lots, bigger pieces, save on shipping or only buy local).

We have already the list by country and province/state.
We could add the city.

Also in the Buy Wanted Lists/Items for sale, we could add with the country and
the contient, a "near by X kms" or something like that.

This is an international market and each store has their own shipping rules.
PLEASE find a way to automatically include shipping costs before we request to
buy. You have our zip codes. Automate it. I don't like wasting sellers time
when shipping is outlandish

When you are in a store and filter by items on your wanted list the auto-fill
[min | max] option appears. However, it seems as both of these options are useless
in their current state and a different option would be useful.

auto-fill max automatically adds all pieces a seller has available to your cart.
If you want 1 and the seller has 14,000 you get 14,000 added. I'm not sure
how that is useful. You have to manually adjust every lot to the correct qty.

auto-fill min automatically selects the number you have set in your wanted list
but ignores price, so if a seller has a $.01 piece listed for $400 you get that
in your cart. You again have to manually adjust every lot.

A much more useful feature would be an autofill like the autofill min that fills
in the correct qty, but one that also accounts for the max price that you have
set in your wanted list and does not add pieces to your cart that are more than
you want to pay.

Hi, I don't know about you, but I'm mad about those sellers that destroy
the sale price average with sky high prices.

Easy remedy, kick them out or change the rules. But since that won't happen,
I thought of something else, a median price in the price guide.

A median price average removes the higher and lower values and gives a more realistic
or typical price for an item.

We could have and option between average or median, or have the two displayed
in the price guide. I think it should be pretty easy to code and add to Bricklink.
And a much needed improvement.

Any thoughts ?

I have just had to remove a large part of an order as the buyer did not want
them, he asked to cancel the whole of a batch.

As the seller I initialised the request and the buyer approved all bar 2 of the
items.

I have now got the task of adding all the items back into my inventory by hand
as the function for re-adding them automatically can only happen if the buyer
carries out the item removal request first.

Can we as sellers have the option to review and upload them automatically even
if we instigated the request.

At some time, superlots and their items were relegated to an optional box to
be checked in a search for items to buy. Now none of my paired items who belong
together and in a superlot are not showing up. This "feature" box should be
the DEFAULT (to show items in a superlot), with the box used to REMOVE superlots
from a search. The superlot feature is incredibly useful and is now useless.
I am embarrassed to say that I have had some supersets out there for over 10
years and never noticed that they weren't being shown. I also noted that
I had no way to search for this topic in the suggestions, so I apologize if it
has already been discussed.

Hello everyone!

I would like to share my idea:
1) Add feature “I have this brick!”
That will allow to create a list of bricks with a simple count field where users
can store their info on how many brick they have. Also it would be nice to have
this option on a whole set. It like a “wanted list”, but let’s call it “owned
list”. In this case I will no longer try to remember what I have. Ok, that was
a first part, and yes, we can use wanted lists to store that data, but wait!
Here goes the second one:

2) Add feature “I can build it!”
That would be amazing! If I trying to find something to build from the original
catalogs, I must take a risks that I will not have the original look of it, or
some missing bricks that I does not own etc.
Just when user will open any set, BrickLink will show that mark “Yes, you can
build it!” or “5 parts missing, find seller with easy buy” (of course it must
appears when you own other 85-90% from the set, or better — allow user to change
this option somewhere). And bam! — my cart if full of missing bricks, that I
needed.

That’s it for now.

My suggestion is because of the posts that were removed this morning that all
new users must have their post approved by the moderator until they have 1 positive
feedback score. This is the same requirement to open a store.

As one person said, there are kids on this website, something should be done
to protect the incident.

Hello,
again looking for admin's people.

I am thinking about a new service I would be greatful wheren't possible before
Lego sold brickLink, that is a request for unexisting pieces, i.e., the piece
exist but not in the desired color.
I explain with a sample: 48336 blue exists, but there is not a 60470b the same
color, I need to combine each other to do a full-blue construction containing
some of both.

Should be fixed a minmum number for the new forniture to start, so that who is
asking have to specify is a promise to buy.

I think this would ease a lot new MOCs to be done, and make people understanding
the added value for the joint venture between Lego and BrickLink.

Hello all,

I am dreaming an additional feature in Wanted List service, in a word intersection
instead of total...

This is not very informative, so I try to explain what I mean: wanted list currently
works so that when you have more than one and you have set up "Having", system
compute the sum of them for the same piece/color.
An alternative concept is the system compute the maximum "Having" for the same
piece/color, in other word, you consider each wanted list as ingredients for
a receipe for a certain build, but you are not interested to build all of the
wanted list, just the possibility to build any of them i.e. In order to do a
new build, you don't care do disassemble any other.

This is obviously an addition to the various feature, not a replace to the current
way it works.

I hope you understood.

Ever since the 'new' version of the inventory function has been introduced
it has made updating and adding items far more difficult as follows:

1) When clicking 'price' next to an inventory item the default is to
show the detailed price guide instead of the really useful pop-up showing the
current avg. price, which can then be dismissed so I can update accordingly without
losing my place in the inventory list I have displayed.

2) If I forget to select the 'old' version of the inventory list and
I am say on the 2nd page of the list of items and I click on 'price'
I get the longer 'price guide' version but when I navigate back to the
inventory list it takes me back to the beginning of the list (i.e. the first
page), I then have to scroll all the way down or change pages to get back to
where I was adding as lot of time to the process.

3) The new and old version of the inventory list show different items (the 'new'
version shows less), which is annoying when trying to use the 'old' version
in order to bypass the problems set out above.

Either let users default to the 'old' version for all searches and or
fix the problem 2) above and preferably put the 'pop up' in as the default
'price guid' when clicking on 'price' as that is the most efficient.

I have raised these issues before but nothing seems to be done about them, surely
if new functionality is introduced it should be at least as good as the old version,
it isn't even possible to default the 'old' version which I have
to click on every time I change my search otherwise my productivity when adding
items is massively impacted.

Any suggestions as it's causing me significant problems.

I'm sure I'm not alone in getting hit with plenty of NSS claims because
USPS is taking too long to deliver packages. Once the mail carrier takes the
package, there's nothing I can do about how long they take to deliver it
to the buyer. I know that buyers need their protection too, but too many stores
are going to be shut down because of the impatience of buyers. Maybe during these
trying times for USPS, the ability to file NSS be pushed back a certain amount
of time? As far as I know now, you can file it immediately after placing the
order. Maybe something like 2 weeks after the order is placed before you can
file an NSS. I would think that most if not all sellers would have long since
shipped the package out within 2 weeks. The lag time on my store is about 4 days,
but never have I taken 2 weeks to ship out a package.

I just wanted to change a wanted list notify settings to all its items, but I
saw that I have to click each item checkbox.

Is there an option that I'm not seeing?

The only way I found to do it in mass was downloading it, and changing the notify
tag to Y in each item and then upload to a new wanted list. But I would prefer
not have to do that each time.

As a buyer is there a way to view the remarks field I have included in items
on a wish list as part of an order? Or,can I see which wish list (or lists)
the parts on my order are filling? Most of my orders are a mix of different
wish lists and would like an easier way to sort the parts once they arrive from
the seller.

It's probably been suggested a billion times over, but it would be really
cool if the you didn't press save on the shipping costs . . . . or you forgot
if you are a seller that the system would have a nag page to say: "Are you sure
that you want to proceed with an order with zero shipping, and all you have to
do is say yes to proceed instead of either eating shipping costs on quotes, or
having to look unprofessional in front of customers asking for shipping fees.

I have noticed that a lot of listings for Kraata either do not have their
own photos or do not list the tail colors.

The page linked below has a great set of thumbnails with all known color
variations and stages of kraata. Would it be possible to add a drop down menu
or a select option so that when shops post Kraata they must choose the image
that most closely matches their piece?

That would eliminate the human error factor when posting Kraata and allow
people to more accurately choose what they want to buy based on coloration.

Not sure why it took me so long to notice this, but there are a few toggles on
this (otherwise fantastic) site that should be "fewer" rather than "less" since
they refer to countable things. Absolutely pedantic, I know... but then again,
we're a bunch of AFOL's who care very strongly whether a tile has a groove
at the bottom or whether studs are open or closed - so maybe being picky about
language comes naturally? I don't know, feel free to make fun of me... but
not too harshly!

Places I've noticed that need to be fixed:
Store filters: All Filters / Less Filters
Parts for sale: More Options / Less Options

Places where text is satisfyingly correct:
Wanted list view: More Options / Fewer Options

Probably others as well; maybe do a global code search for /less \w+s/i

Would it be possible to show the names of the address fields?
With international addresses it sometimes is not clear what is the city, what
is the region, what is the streetname, etc.

And even with national addresses it is not clear. I just had somebody with two
streetnames and numbers. This is probably the address 1 streetname, number and
the optional address 2 streetname, number. But when shipping I can only use one
address. When would I as a seller use the optional address, how would i know
to use it?

And it would also be useful if the address is filled out in 'english'
(i.e. no chinese, russian, israelian characters that are not always available
in shipping label apps)

Hi, All.

I've placed an order recently for 100+ different parts that are spread across
several my wanted lists.

Now I need to somehow clear them out of my wanted lists.
I expected to find a corresponding button next to an order (i.e. "remove ordered
items from wanted lists") but could not find one.

This seems like a good feature to implement. Would that be possible?
Ideally, it would present a table, where each row would lead with an ordered
item, then in can see in what wanted list(s) the item is included and can use
checkboxes to remove or leave it there (there should also be a one big "[un]check"
box).
So that if I want to keep the item on my wanted list for more purchases - I can
do it, but if I was just completing the missing bits of several sets - I can
easily clean up my "missing parts" list.

When sales and promotions posts are made on the forum, please have sellers disclose
all of the fees and additional charges as part of the forum post.

It is presumably also an unfair business practice in other economies to not include
important information in a promotion. Negating a discount through fees is sort
of important information.

My suggestion: It would be great if a buyer could list the items they're
looking for, then the system shows you which sellers have the most or all of
the pieces that you are seeking. The buyer should then be able to narrow down
the search by seller's country, minimum buy amount, etc.

Is there a quick way to cancel out items on a "wanted list" from an existing
Lego set?

For example, I uploaded an item list for a Star Wars X-wing Fighter from a Brickvault
custom build instructions. If say for example I buy a Lego set (e.g. 75273 Poe
Dameron's X-Wing Fighter), is there a way to cancel out the parts available
from this set from my custom build wanted list? Or would I just have to do this

is there a feature, or could there ever be...where I could log all the lego sets
that I own in order to navigate through locating where a found piece may go?

For example, I found a piece and want to put it back with its proper set. I found
the piece on bricklink and it says that the piece is part of over 1000 sets.

So i got through the list of 1000 sets to see which ones we have...and I see
3. So now I will check those 3 sets to see where this missing piece would go.


This feature would isolate the sets that I own that have it...so it would just
list the 3 that i own that have the piece.

Is it possible to get the tracking number displayed on the orders placed screen
(as it is on the orders received screen)?

As a buyer it is annoying to have to send an email to the sender to request the
tracking number, when most times they have entered it into the system.

Hello!

Some sellers cannot sell to nearly HALF of the USA! Your default setting is
"Seller will not ship to --STATE--" and you CANNOT buy from them. This
is because they do not have the options to "pay onsite" or something like
that. PLEASE CHANGE THIS. Create a different invoice that adds the tax to the
sellers "fees" but puts it in the invoice so the seller can bill the buyer.
DO NOT STOP people from buying!!!

Thank you, please change this, there are parts that aren't available from
people who haven't changed this.

The worst part about it is the SELLERS ARE UNAWARE THIS IS HAPPENING TO THEM!

Please put in a temporary fix until sales tax is figured out completely.

Currently when an order is placed there is an original order date on that order
however when someone updates the order, say with another batch, the order date
changes to the date of the change and we lose the original order date. It would
be better if the original order date was held - that way the orders would stay
in chronological order rather than orders jumping all over the place.

No more for today but we might be back over the weekend. Lots going on at present.

Those of us who still use the order detail page would like the following changes
to make our lives easier and us more productive

Instead of a single filter line at the top please add an 'and/or' to
allow multiple conditions to restrict the lines you are working on. For example
we use this filter to switch to all orders packed to alter the status to shipped
but if we could add another condition we could do packed to shipped - mass drive
thru and feedback all in one'ish operation

Secondly please make the column headings on the orders themselves clickable to
allow sorting by any of the columns (as you have done on the inventory front
page)

And lastly, please add color on the inventory front page as one of the filters
(a drop down list box would be fine). I am aware that you may already be able
to do this with the keyword field but why does it need to be so complicated -
just give us a chance to choose the colors.

Set 40174 needs to be listed like a normal lego classic set. With proper entries
for SET, INSTRUCTIONS, EMPTY BOX. BTW this set is beautiful. This should definitely
not be listed in the "gear" category as if its some ninjago foam swords. Please
help do this set justice, would display beautifully next to the colosseum.
The current items for sale the way it is categorized are mostly customized attempts
to revert to traditional set-book-box entry style.
I suppose this set could be under theme ICONIC as there is many other sets branded
as this, Iconic picture frame, Iconic store front and such..

Good evening,

very rarely there are differences about how much a shipping could cost, especially
when stores use the TBT quote function. Right now I had the problem, communication
was not possible at all, no response.

Why shouldn´t a byer have the option to chancel an order, right after he received
a shipping calculation he is not ready to pay? No one has to be upset, all sorted.
After the chancellation no review is needed as well IMHO. Negative review will
result in a negitve one from the other part as well.

Or even the next step: Every store has to offer at least some fixed shipment
calculations for the countries they ship to. Quotes should only be an extra option.

Just my 2 cents. I feel sad about such an outcome.

To whom it may concern.

I just spend two days rendering a building sequence and it caught my attention,
that even after the building sequence itself was done, and I just needed some
more seconds showing the completed model, the EyeSightRenderer still calculated
frame after frame. I had rotation switched off, so it was basically just 48 frames
of the same picture over and over again. I think this can easily be fixed by
just copying the first frame with the complete model n times.

I have enjoyed Lego most of my life, but it seems that Lego seems to want to
make me give up on them. I have had to increase shipping rates and add a processing
fee to offset the increasing fees. The addition of the VAT taxes has made it
nearly impossible to make money on Bricklink. It increases the final sale which
in turn, increases the fees that both Bricklink and PayPal take from you. You
have to notice the huge decrease in stores and customers. What is everyone else's
thoughts on this?

Hello,

When filtering seller location to European Union, UK is still visable.

Here in Sweden there is an extra fee for orders from countries outside EU, and
that fee applies for orders from UK. The fee is a minimum of 75 SEK and up to
125 SEK depending on the cost of the order.

Luckily I did look this up before making any order from UK, but it might be good
to fix the filtering system and remove UK from the EU list.
