Now 14395 is noted as alternative number for 2339. But there's a difference
between the items. Walls forming the arch of 14395 are thinner, there also a
reinforcement in the transversal walls inside the arch. As consequence, it's
impossible to fix a stud inside the arch because the gap is to large.

So 14395 is a mold variant that need is own entry I think.

I don't know how to do that because it's now impossible to create a new
one under 14395. How am I suppose to proceed?

The earliest version of this part was manufactured with ABS and is hard and rigid.
Colors known to have ABS versions are white, red, and pearl light gray.
To add: yellow. I just received 2 of them

I looked closed and it is part of this print. the part has 3 PCC's and you
can see in the images that 2 versions (at least) are shown. should this be split?

55825's is 56545
55826's is 56457
55827's is 56460

The number 56444 (noted on 55828 as being for the sword) appears on the black
plastic piece (electronic casing?), and is the same inside all six weapons. If
I were to guess, the numbers for the main part is behind the electronics, but
I'm not quite willing to tear these apart.

Also when displayed like this it's apparent that 55825c01 has a naming inconsistency,
listing the set number. Is there a preference there?

Was sorting some of these sets and noticed there are 2 versions, the contents
are mirrored inside and the design of the calendar numbers is also mirrored,
got 18 of the top one and 22 of the bottom one.

Box item numbers are the same 6425718, but the code below the barcode is different.

124957-322 Bottom

Should a note on the catalog be put? And also I can upload photos of each box
to the original box entry.

For many times i have been searching for this part:
99021 Pneumatic hose connector with bush,
and did'nt find this in the technic department.

The "technic" category is a bit cloudy with 254 part listings.

I would like to suggest a few category changes:

Re-name and -categorize;
3713 Technic Bush
to; 3713 Technic Bush 1L;
4265c Technic Bush 1/2 Smooth
to; 4265c Technic Bush 0,5L, Smooth
4265c, 4265a, 4265b, 45799, x1299, x148, 424 into
New Category; "Technic, Bush"

Re-name and -categorize;
2852, 2853, 2854, 2850, 2850b, 2850a, 2851, 3652 into
New Category; "Technic, Engine"

Re-name and -categorize;
6539, 6539, 2473, 18947, 32187, 35186, 35186pb01, 32167, 2426c01, 32170 into
Sub-Category; "Technic, Engine, Gear"

Re-name and -categorize;
46453, 46453c01, 46453pb01L, 46453pb01R, 46453pb02, 46452, 46454, 30535, 43121,
43121c04, 43121c02 (Inv), 43121c01 (Inv), 43121c03 (Inv), x577, 4868a, 4868ac01
(Inv), 4868b, 4868bc01 (Inv), 4868bc02 (Inv), 4869, 3475, 3475b, 98302, 3475a,
30358, 4229, 53983pb02, 53983pb01, into
Sub-Category; "Technic, Engine, Cosmetic".

Re-name and -categorize;
49828, 46455, 46456 into
Sub-Category; "Technic, Engine, Exhaust"

Re-name and -categorize;
2908, 32072, 5405 into
"Aircraft"

Re-name and -categorize;
2950, 24120, 18943, 28216, 4700, 2951, 2814, 32030, 46891, 15265, 88289, 30275
into
New Category; "Bucket";
and New Category; "Bucket, Decorated";

Re-name and -categorize;
32310, 32310pb06, 32310pb07, 32310pb01, 32310pb05,32310pb03, 32310pb02, 32310pb04,
32310pb08, 32165, 32173 into
"Bionicle"

Also a new category: "Technic, Decorated" for all the stickered and color
printed parts which make the other category's a bit overcrowded. This would
be in line with all the other decorated categories like; "Brick, Decorated",
"Plate, Decorated" etc.

Remove Category "Technic, Plate"
and merge whole category into "Plate, Modified" with 13 parts.

Remove Category "Technic, Link".
Re-name and -categorize;
30397, 2739, 2739b, 2739a, 32293 to "Technic, Ball Joint",
3711, 3249, 69900, bb0076, 3873, 69910, 57518 to "Technc, Gear",
14149, 24375 to "Technic, Pin",
64451, 4586, 6247, 2637 to "Liftarm".

Category "Plate, Modified" could move out the angular extension parts
to "Wedge, Plate, Decorated" or to "Plate, Modified, Decorated".

While working on a project today I pulled my supply of 92693c01s and noticed
that some looked different. Further investigation revealed a different part number
on the side (37773), numbers on the dark gray part (2 variations-(31x9) & (46x9),
and differences in the construction of the main housing. All three parts have
the Lego logo, connect and function the same. Is this known variant are new piece
for the catalog? In the photo 92693c01 is at the top the lower two are 37773.

Please add a note to part ID 45535 that some were sent out from the factory in
an alternate format: Without the outer circle, but including the three masks
and the center sprue, all loose packed in a clear bag.

In one sense, the image on the item makes a presumption that all new parts will
include the outer circle with the masks attached to it. That is not the case.

How to better deal with the sets that come with LEGO magazines?

situation
Currently there are LEGO magazines with added sets (they are glued to the magazine)
in 6 countries, each in the language from the country where they are published.
- Germany
- Czech Republic
- Poland
- Netherlands
- France
- Sweden
It is painfully obvious that there are no English speaking countries in this
list.

The frequency in which they appear varies a bit. I have no exact data but 6-8
magazines per year seems to be sort of average.

themes
The magazines come in 8 themes (not each country get the same themes covered):
- Avengers
- Batman
- City
- Friends (this is the oldest one)
- Jurassic World
- Minecraft
- Ninjago
- Spiderman

current Bricklink coverage
The extent to which all these items are included in the catalogue depends on
the cooperation of volunteers in different countries. As far as I have been able
to determine, the sets are always added to the catalogue, but the magazines in
which they appear are not always added - they need a separate entry in the catalogue.

how to find these magazine sets on Bricklink?
Until recently you could find them by searching for the theme and add 'foil
pack' to your search criteria.
For example here is the list of Minecraft Foil Packs: minecraft+foil+pack
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/search.page?q=foil+pack+minecraft&tab=S#T=S

However, somewhere in 2023 TLG began to replace the foil packs by paper bags
glued to the magazine. Accordingly, Bricklink catalogue admins understandably
changed the description from foil pack to paper bag.
The result is that you now also have to search for the paper bags minecraft+paper+bag:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/search.page?q=paper+bag+minecraft&tab=S#T=S

Currently there are about 500-600 sets that are part of a magazine. And there's
no easy way to find them all in a single search or a limited search by theme.

therefore my suggestion about how to deal with this
I looked at the way how Brickset deals with the same problem and they have a
very clever and simple solution for it. They just call all the foil packs and
paper bags 'magazine gifts'.
If you want to search for these items you can do so: https://brickset.com/sets/subtheme-Magazine-Gift

My suggestion is to follow this example and change the description of all those
sets. For example

Set No: 662308 Name: Alex, Baby Llama and Bee paper bag
*
662308-1 (Inv) Alex, Baby Llama and Bee paper bag
32 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 2023
Sets: Minecraft
would become: Alex, Baby Llama and Bee - Magazine Gift

Even more nice would it be to make additional changes to the sets catalogue tree:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogTree.asp?itemType=S
and add a new subtheme called 'Magazine Gift' for each of the 8 themes
TLG has magazines with sets. Star Wars already has 45 subthemes so one more wouldn't
hurt

This way we have several options to search for the magazine sets: by keyword
(Magazine Gift) or by browsing/searching for the theme and selecting the subtheme.

Martin

(And of course I offer to help with this. I have lots of free time.)

I have two different variants of this part, but it does not appear to be mentioned
in the catalogue, like I have seen for other similar parts.

I hope I am not overstepping by reporting this.

Also I would be interested to learn if there is any way to find out how the different
variants were used.

While going through the listings of Tile, Modified 2x3 with clips, I noticed
that there was a discrepancy in naming. The part is 30350b, 2 Open O clips.
The first 123 patterns of this part (except for 1 that I found) do not have
the descriptive 'Open O' in the title:

Part No: 30350bpb111 Name: Tile, Modified 2 x 3 with 2 Clips with White Bowser Head Pattern
*
30350bpb111 Tile, Modified 2 x 3 with 2 Clips with White Bowser Head Pattern
Parts: Tile, Modified, Decorated {Black}

Starting with pb124, the 'Open O' appears in the titles:

Part No: 30350bpb125 Name: Tile, Modified 2 x 3 with 2 Open O Clips with Armor Pattern (Sticker) - Set 80006
*
30350bpb125 Tile, Modified 2 x 3 with 2 Open O Clips with Armor Pattern (Sticker) - Set 80006
Parts: Tile, Modified, Decorated {Magenta}

Is there an easy way of rectifying this? If not, I am more than willing to go
through and submit requests for each entry to add the 'Open O' to the
titles that are missing it.

21755 Large Figure Weapon, Lightsaber Hilt Half 2L with Axle Hole
Parts: Large Figure Part {Black}

Hey there.

This part had us stumped. Without any context this part is hard to identify.
Especially in a non-silver color.
Obvious ideas were Technic or Technic Connector.
Could this maybe moved or at least be added to the the obscure parts locator

Thanks

Part No: 3838 Name: Minifigure Air Tanks
*
3838 Minifigure Air Tanks
Parts: Minifigure, Body Wear {Blue}
Minifigure Air Tanks 3838 should have two mold variants. At some point
(I don't have an exact year), the mold was updated very slighty to widen
and re-shape the two openings at the bottom. With the newer variant, it's
possible to insert a standard bar partway in, whereas this couldn't easily
be done before and is something that has been noted on other sites. The top part
is a tad more defined as well. This is significant when trying to locate era-accurate
parts for older sets. As a buyer, I've come unstuck with this, and it's
essential to know what type I'm getting.

I have this special press release in hand. It`s mentioned in the catalog.
But what about adding it to the catalog with its own entry?
The set contains next to 3200 a picture frame and a press kit with lots of information
and real photos.

11090 and 44873 are listed under the same item number 11090. The parts look identical
other than the injection molding dimple on the side of 44873. Also, the bar hole
on 44873 goes a bit deeper than 11090 and I suggest this either be added to the
description or they be listed as mold variants as that hole depth might make
a difference, which is how I came to realize this and was able to sort both types
easily by looking at the injection mold dimple.

There are some LEGO catalogs that look similar enough to each other that I think
it would benefit sellers if the respective Bricklink listings made this fact
more explicit. Specially these three catalogs:

Catalog No: c81uspg Name: 1981 Medium Parents Guide US (109717/109817-US)
*
c81uspg 1981 Medium Parents Guide US (109717/109817-US)
Catalogs: 1981

Catalog No: c82uspg Name: 1982 Medium Parents Guide US (114717/114817-US)
*
c82uspg 1982 Medium Parents Guide US (114717/114817-US)
Catalogs: 1982

Catalog No: c83uspg Name: 1983 Medium Parents Guide US (100317/100417-US)
*
c83uspg 1983 Medium Parents Guide US (100317/100417-US)
Catalogs: 1983
And these two:

Catalog No: c73us Name: 1973 Medium US (97800-US)
*
c73us 1973 Medium US (97800-US)
Catalogs: 1973

Catalog No: c74us Name: 1974 Medium US (97800-US)

Part No: 54821 Name: Ball, Bionicle Zamor Sphere
*
54821 Ball, Bionicle Zamor Sphere
Parts: Ball {Pearl Light Gray}

PCCs:
4297031 should be removed from Trans-Dark Blue. It is idential to 4296577 and
6024162, and like those, is are already listed as Trans-Medium Blue.
4585759 should be moved to Trans-Medium Blue. It is identical to the aforementioned
3.

4296080 should be removed from Trans-Bright Green, but stay as Trans-Neon Green
or be moved entirely to part 54821pb05.

4583979 I believe should be moved to Trans-Light Green.
Though they are not actual Trans-Light Green since these parts are marbled, the
general appearance of these is what's seen in the image currently assigned
to Light Green, and sales data also shows sellers listing it as Trans-Light Green
or Light Green. Neon Green seller listings are typically 4296080.

4297034 should be added to whatever 4583979 is. They are identical.

Images:
Images for "Bright Green" and "Trans-Green" depict the part in
Trans-Bright Green (PCC 4655587).

Image for "Trans-Neon Green" and "Trans-Bright Green" depict
part 4296080 - the former is the marbling described by 54821pb05. The latter
should probably be moved to TNG, while the former is moved to 54821pb05.

Trans-Dark Blue image is not necessary. It's a LEGO render in solid blue.

I only ask this as the original Ghostbusters minifigs had their ID’s switched
from idea to gb (seems a sensible approach) but then why not the same for various
other minifigs where dedicated Theme I.D’s already exist such as TV Friends,
Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings and even basic themes like castle and pirates.
Drives me crazy not having them located under the same I.D format

Would it be possible to add a category for the “figures” in the chess sets that
don’t fall into existing categories ?

Perhaps added as sub assemblies ?

Both the Knight and Bishop ( with or without shield ) “figures” can’t be listed
assembled.

Thanks in advance.

The door on the right is as catalog, the door on the left has a different shaped

I know I’ve raised something about these before but I can’t remember or find
what was discussed.

Not sure admins want any more variations for the catalogue.

How would you list these :

1. Version of door 33.
As 33bc01 but has no holes in the top, has glass and hollow studs.

2. Version of 646.
As 646 but has glass, holes in top, hollow studs and standard lip not extended.

3. Version of 604.
As 604c01 but has no holes in top.

Despite only appearing in one set in 2004, at least 23 other parts exist in this
color. Since 2019, 18 of these have been seen, many of which are sourced from
LEGOLAND model shops. In 2023 alone, thousands of plates have been listed as
‘Light Orange’ and ‘Very Light Orange’, despite not being either of those colors.

[P=3069b,32]

This color also comes in 3021, 2357, 44237, and 3794a.

The lack of a Warm Yellowish Orange makes it very difficult to know what color
you’re getting from sellers, especially since many of these parts also come in
Scala Light Orange and Very Light Orange, the latter of which is also showing
up at various LEGOLAND PAB walls alongside Warm Yellowish Orange.

Part No: 6490  Name: Duplo, Plate 8 x 16
*
6490 Duplo, Plate 8 x 16
Parts: DUPLO, Plate {Light Orange}
is the only production part in this color.

Every part in the aforementioned list has its own element number that can be
added to the site. This color should be added as Warm Yellowish Orange.

Please change the category "Dragon Knights" to "Dragon Masters".
While both names have been used, "Dragon Masters" is the more common
and well-known; additionally, "Dragon Knights" is the name of the Kingdoms
faction, so I would like to avoid confusion.

Also, please merge the categories "Lion Knights" and "Crusaders";
they are the same faction. "Crusaders" was the first official name (with
Lion Knights being the colloquial name for the earlier sets of the same faction),
though "Lion Knights" has now been canonised via the Lion Knights'
Castle.

Item 55824c01 has three other part numbers on it that may be useful for finding
it. Battery cover is 56451, sword is 56452, and electronic component (light +
battery holder) is 55823. None of these part numbers currently have a result,
and I'm too new to BrickLink to know how to suggest these changes.

Why is this part under the Bar category:

Part No: 61680 Name: Projectile Arrow, Bar 6L with Round End

*
15303 Projectile Arrow, Bar 8L with Round End (Spring Shooter Dart)

Meanwhile both of their respective bricks are under Projectile Launcher:

Also, how come there aren't relationships that match projectiles with their
compatible launchers, and vice versa? I feel like that would be useful.

Hello,
I recently came across an item in a bulk buy that matches both of the following
descriptions:
Cloth Picnic Tablecloth / Blanket with Red Checkered Pattern, 16280
Duplo, Cloth Blanket 6 x 6 with Red Checkered Pattern, blankie05pb01

In trying to narrow down which version I have, I contacted a few sellers (thank
you to everyone who responded to me!), and, long story short, these two items
appear to be identical. The 12.5 stud x 12.5 stud dimensions of the 16280 are
based on regular Lego studs, while the 6 stud x 6 stud dimensions of blankie05pb01
are based on Duplo studs.

Further investigation into the measurements indicate that they are the same,
and the patterns appears to match as well.

I believe these two entries are the same item, and I would like your input if
this is correct.

Thank you,
Dennis

I can't believe the BL catalog is how I find out scientists have discovered
some land-dwelling species of otter

Seriously though, shouldn't they be under Animal, Water? Their habitat classifications

"Instructions did not come in the set package but only as separate sheet
in a magazine"

I believe I was the one who added the instructions to the catalog for the set.
Most foil pack sets don't have instructions in the catalog since they are
an integrated part of the magazine and not a separate sheet. As I recall, this
may have been because the set was a 'bonus' second set (a second time
around) in a later magazine, so the instructions were inserted as a loose sheet
in the magazine. In retrospect maybe it was a bad idea to add the instructions
to the catalog.

Alternatively to adding the note, maybe the instructions for the set should just
be removed to keep it consistent with the other 99% of the foil packs.

Parts: Brick, Modified {Black}
.

It's very hard to see the actual color of the bottom of the black part in
the current picture, but it doesn't look opaque to me. More like semi-transparent,
possibly Milky White. Not a single one of the 104 sellers have uploaded a photo
of the part to actually show that it's opaque.

All the ones with opaque bottom that I have seen have red bottoms, and they are
all early CA bricks with old logo. All transparent bottoms that I have seen are
ABS bricks with new logo.

So I do not believe there exists a black version with opaque bottom. Just more
or less transparent ones. See examples from my collection in attached image.

I therefore suggest that either

1) the black photo is removed and the part is renamed to "Brick, Modified
2 x 4 with Wheels Holder, Red Bottom"
2) a new part created with the name "Brick, Modified 2 x 4 with Wheels Holder,
Red Bottom" and the current part marked for deletion.

Please advise.

/Jan
