Does anybody know: is static IPv6 address ok to get api?

I don’t know the answer to that question but, AFAICT, BrickLink servers are IPv4
only¹, so I would say no.

(¹ I only see IPv4 addresses for api.bricklink.com.)

I don't think I would have ever guessed those keywords. No mention of dots/spots

Helge told in one post that it has been due for his buyer that the buyer had
no shipping address filled in his settings.

No address = no country = no tax checking/charging = no order

This is a customer who has been active on bricklink since 2016.

Ask his help to diagnostic the problem.

Could he try to buy (but of course not passing the last check out page):
* in another US shop,
* in another Country?

Alternatively, give me PM or here his country/state and I'll try with my
test account to buy at your place?

FWIW it does come up pretty quickly under

"white tile 1x2 pattern -sticker"

Presumably that is just luck where it occurs in the list. If it had been on the
last page, it would have taken longer. I'm guessing there is no artificial
intelligence that puts parts with bad descriptions higher up in searches.

True, it is just dumb luck - the description/keywords could be a lot better.

This piece was on the last page using that search ...
[p=3069bpb0650]

Luckily that one has a bit of description too to help in a search and is not
just called "Olaf Mouth" based on its use. I doubt many people finding it in
a mixed box would know it is Olaf's Mouth and hence a description of what
is actually on the tile rather than the function in the (unknown) set is useful.

Hi!
There is error on javascript/react level. Change of shipping method groups is
not possible.
From console log on store shipping settings:
"Warning: Each child in an array or iterator should have a unique "key" prop.
Check the render method of `ShippingMethodGroup`. See https://fb.me/react-warning-keys

  Hello,

There is a hidden extra space at the end of the item numbers as displayed on
catalog list pages. When clicking these numbers to copy and paste them for other
data uses, the extra space causes problems.

Example:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?sortBy=D&sortAsc=D&catType=P

Go to Newest Items, sort by List with Images
Click just below any one of the item numbers to highlight and then copy it.
Paste it into any older form on our site and it will respond with an error message
due to the form reading the empty space character.

This essentially means that all catalog work, ie everything on the Add or Change
tab, which involves taking these item numbers and using them to add to an inventory,
add a PCC code, or submit a change request all require extra steps to remove
the space.

The extra space does not appear on Thumbnail Gallery or on the old format inventory
pages that still have the underline.

Alternately, you could teach our old forms to ignore spaces.

This would be a big QAL improvement for catalog work. Thank you!

If you are going to be in it for the long term, find an established seller with
a decent selection of colours and buy one or two of each and build a colour chart.
Ask the seller to keep similar colours apart, and label them. Or buy obviously
different parts in different colours so they are easy to identify. Write the
colour names on them with a sharpie.

Greys is a difficult question, and mostly you can't answer it via pictures
- a few basic principles:
Light gray and dark gray are the oldest shades. They were replaced in the early
2000s by light bluish gray and dark bluish gray. Especially the light varieties
are only safely distinguishable in natural sunlight, but once you've seen
the difference, you'll know it (and why one is called "bluish", the other
isn't). This is made more difficult by the fact that old pieces tend to fade
and slightly change colour, but except in really bad cases, they should still
be recognizable.
The "pearl" usually points to marbled colors, i.e. lighter/darker patches in
the same piece (very crude description...). That can be rather subtle, so it's
not always easy to distinguish them from "flat" varieties.
As you'll see in the colour guide that others have mentioned already: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp
, most shades are rather rare, compared to LG/DG and LBG/DBG. If you have a few
pieces where you know what set they came from, look up the set here, and it will
tell you what color it's supposed to be.
That said, the bricklink catalogue is not infallible. There was a major overhaul
of grey pieces in inventories recently, especially in the Bionicle line if I
remember correctly. These monsters are annoying in so many ways!
My 2 cents, I'm just a beginner myself though, when in doubt, believe the
others!

Hi! I have a handy list here:

www.ryanhowerter.net/colors

Note that LEGO uses a different naming system from BrickLink — they are cross-referenced
here. If you click the color name, it will take you to a photo of the individual
color on a Light Bluish Gray baseplate.

There are many other resources online — even a "Periodic Table of LEGO Colors"
you can buy that includes many 1x1 samples of the most common colors. You can
also just find a BL store that really knows their colors (3001: A Brick Odyssey
is a great choice), and buy a 2x4 brick in every color they have to start your
own color chart

Regards,
Ryan

expensive parts. It is becoming very annoying to have to contact the stores that
have these items first to make sure they have the correct parts in the variation
I need.

As a seller, I understand how difficult it can be to maintain accuracy. Most
sellers here are doing this as a hobby and not as a primary source of income,
so they don't have the time and money to invest in a color chart and learning
all of the different variants. And when an order has many lots, it is easy to
make a mistake.

Speaking only for myself, I'm not sure a color chart would be helpful, at
least not for the colors I typically have difficulty telling apart (light gray
and light bluish gray).

Here is my suggestion, laughable though it may be, insist that each person wanting
to open a store on Bricklink go through a video tutorial on identifying pieces
and variations of those pieces. How to check certain parts to make sure they
are not broken (I have been sent numerous broken pieces recently), and lastly
how to identify correct colors.

I'm not really sure what benefit there would be to this, apart from introducing
another time barrier to sell. It would highlight that there are variations in
some parts, but it won't guarantee a seller never makes an error again. Unless
you expect them to view photographs of every part and correctly identify them
before they can sell.

As for colours, the difficult ones are ones that are very close to each other,
and differences are not normally noticeable on a screen (especially if the lighting
for the photo is bad), unless there are known and unfaded pieces either side
of them.

First, a time barrier is not a bad thing if the new shop to be opened has a fairly
Lego educated person running it. It would help cut down on some of the errors.
Also, the more time spent learning about the product to be sold is a worthwhile
cause as it will make those people more careful in the long run.

Second, errors will always be made because "To err is human" however once a person
is made aware that there are variations, and shown how or what to look for, they
will be more apt to look for them before listing.

Third, color charts should be a requirement to open a store. Yes, I know, time
constraints again. However, Rome was not built in 1 day. If a person wants to
open a shop, they should put the time in to learn what it is they will be selling.
Brick and Morter stores take a long time to start up, why should an online store
take less time?

This would drive used part sellers away, and cut down on availability of parts.
Especially for cheap parts, they'd just get sold off in bulk lots elsewhere.

The answer is that whoever posted the problem first (if it's the same problem?)
posted with a narrow subject, so even if someone looks, they don't see a
post saying "Is the site down?"

Why don't nobody check the least 5 or 10 messages BEFORE creating it's
own post thread?

But hey, thanks for confirming!
Mmmmh, that may mean something about a cookie or such?

Better those than THIS huge awful picture!
I'm sure it broke a few pixels on my monitor

You know, I realized the other day that the parting, or rather the whitish streak
is on the wrong side.
Not really my fault because the piece is this way and I only painted it.
But I hadn’t noticed before because it’s the same side in the mirror

Reminds me of this joke:

“Eh, have you ever thought of parting your hair on the other side?”
“I tried: with the parting on the left, I look smart, with the parting on the
right, I look stupid!”
“And you saw that in the mirror?”
“Yeah, why?”

It only shows one now. You may need to do a hard refresh of a page containing
the image to see it update.

Recently (2 years now) I have been experiencing a large number of orders that
the store is sending me the wrong parts or broken parts. In some cases, very
expensive parts. It is becoming very annoying to have to contact the stores that
have these items first to make sure they have the correct parts in the variation
I need.

As a buyer, I understand how frustrating it can be when sellers send the wrong
parts, or an order is missing parts. Most sellers are quick about sending replacement
parts when contacted, but it adds time to the order and delays projects.

My advice to you is to shop from the stores that have provided you with good
parts and good customer service in the past, as well as those that have a lot
of positive feedback from other buyers.

I don’t think it’d be a problem if the line hid half the hands.  It’s clear they
are there.

After all, as it is now, a hand is hiding… well, I was going to write “the other
one” but it’s “its other self” actually

Yes! Honestly yes I have never used it. But anyway, I couldn't do that if
the background hadn't been completely removed because the White/Not quite
White and all the shadows would make for a messy image. Everything must be perfect.

Awesome. It would be as clear as mud.

Then we could all answer 'What's the 2 mean?' questions in the Forum
from now til eternity.

I knew - I'm just an amateur troll trying to improve!

Seriously though, I could go and add text 'Front' 'Back' or
'Top' 'Bottom' to images like these but the thumbnails would
be just too cluttered. It's best to have the dual images reserved for the
Large Image only, but then it would be more difficult to browse for parts I guess.

Couldn't be a text or a sign better put ONTO the picture?

NOBODY reads "*" "!" or "2" (or whatever better)

I do realize that, taken out of context, the image is confusing. But there are
literally thousands of dual-sided images in our catalog. Heads, torsos, bricks
and slopes showing variants, etc. I don't quite see how this one in particular
would cause alarm.

I guess now that they've got rid of the * and ! below the images we need

You can check that by looking at the inventory of a (small) set, like

Set No: 6822 Name: Space Digger
*
6822-1 (Inv) Space Digger
28 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 1981
Sets: Space: Classic Space
It says it has two, and you only need two to build the set.

Hi,
The picture shows both sides of a single piece so you only need to list and send
1 piece.

I bleieve it's just showing the top and underside of the piece. It's

to open a store on Bricklink go through a video tutorial on identifying pieces
and variations of those pieces.

Just some thoughts.

the store is sending me the wrong parts or broken parts. In some cases, very
expensive parts. It is becoming very annoying to have to contact the stores that
have these items first to make sure they have the correct parts in the variation

Today I was burnt once again when I bought part x264 in yellow but instead received
part 70904 even after contacting the store before ordering to ensure it had a

Here is my suggestion, laughable though it may be, insist that each person wanting

That would be a very, very long tutorial.

It would, wouldn't it?

My guess is this, they have the CSS file on a separate server (this is normal)
and *that* is down (not necessarily normal, but it did happen with AWS this afternoon).

We don't want CSS, we want ABS!

Or PC, or CA, or SBS, or MABS, or PE, or rubber… well, some fabrics too, starched
or not, and paper, and cardboard… and bits of metal here and there….

Scrolling doesn't change, you just see a part of a shop.

Tried on my favorite guinea pig:
https://store.bricklink.com/Nubs_Select

Tested on Firefox (latest) and Edge, same result.

It's very recent, it worked a few hours ago.

Other pages seem OK, including forum.

And it's back! And I looked at the code and they have a separate server for
static content (which would include CSS, JS, images, etc.)

I see - thanks for your F12 or CTRL+ALT+J !

But now I see Nubs_Select shop and it's ugly
I prefer the previous version...

Having a few different strange problems as well. One being I can't access
any of my store's inventory. Guessing not a big deal. Probably just another
"routine unscheduled security scan".

The stylesheets don’t load?

And the whole site has problems if you haven’t the right data in cache.  E.g.
some images missing and menus inoperant on the main page (that I never use).
