OMG - that would be fantastic. They should do a full Horizon Zero Dawn theme.
Epic game, would produce epic sets. Would buy and build them all.

Absolutely instant buy... there are already a bunch of brilliant MOCs out there
associated with that amazing game (such as the Thunderjaw in the image I'm
going to build someday!)...!

Anyone who has this set, can you tell me if the plastic used for the black infrared

Thanks,

Everybody should have the chance to build lego sets.

Everybody does have the chance to build LEGO sets, and there are many sets to
choose from. If you mean everybody should have the chance to build every set,
then that is impossible as LEGO / BL limit the number of copies of each set,
especially the BDP sets.

Although even if you have missed out on one of the BDP sets, you can still get
the instructions and collect together the parts and build it.

Nope.

Yeah, this is one reason I haven't ever really considered buying one of the
Bricklink Designer Program sets. Printed instructions are just too important
to me.

I used to feel the same way about the paper instructions, but since I got a nice
tablet, I really prefer working from the digital instructions. It opens up more
space on my building surface! I also never thought I’d prefer an ebook to a
paper one but there you have it….

Digital instructions IN ADDITION TO the physical is fine! I know there are a
lot of people out there who really appreciate them, whether it's due to physical
eyesight, space constraints, or what have you. I'm just upset that LEGO
chose to not include a printed copy, for these, or for the Mario sets.

Like the logo on the box already tells you: it is not LEGO.

Also, you can tell from the description and image that the bricks are not even
the same size; they might come close to Modulex size, but might even be smaller.

Think double sided, there, I just saved you about 250 pages!

And print 4 pages per page and then use your phone as a magnifier…
er…
I think there’s a flaw in there but I can’t tell what…

I mean I know we all love to complain but previously this was going to be App
only, can we at least agree that a pdf is better. Bring the files to staples
and pay them to print it.

I would like to try my hand at something simple like a small log cabin with a

How did you decide your first bricks?

TIA

Are they all still assembled? If not, just start playing around with what you
have and ignore colour for now.

They are still assembled as I use them as display pieces. I have very limited
spares. Basically the small pieces that are not used in the sets.

Then think about what you enjoyed building already and aim for similar parts.
Then place an order on bricklink.

I know what RRP means, but they put RRP next to the price, so the RRP differs
between sites. How is that possible? RRP comes from LEGO, so it should be the
same on every site. You can't have the same set have several different RRPs.

Yes, you can:
1. if the stores are not based in the same country,
2. if the stores are not buying directly from LEGO / are not both buying from
the same distributor.

Also, once again, we don’t know what their supplier tells them, we only infer
it.  Maybe their supplier tells something to some sellers and another thing to
others, depending on other factors (brick & mortar vs. web only, size…).
Maybe they give ranges….

Creative selling technique ?

Is the price on the LEGO website RRP?

Is see, in Ireland, that some online stores use an RRP that is 5-10 euro higher
than LEGO Ireland.

It is frustrating because it is confusing or misleading. Example: Set cost 50
euro on LEGO, advertised on random website for 45 discounted from 55. I think,
nice 10 euro off, but its 5 euro off.

Where do these webshops get their RRP from?

Thanks

The price at which a set is sold in a shop is not the RRP, it’s just the-price-it’s-sold-in-the-shop,
period.

First R of RRP is for Recommended, not for Mandatory, and it’s only an indication
given to sellers by the vendor.  We sort of know it because LEGO also sells directly
on their website and in their shops and we therefore conclude that LEGO’s price
is the price they tell sellers the set should be sold.  But shops decide at what
price they sell.

If you don’t want to be confused, or rather fooled, by these fakish discounts,
you need to learn which shops tend to mark up their initial prices (relatively
to LEGO and other shops’ pricing).

Some shops even have a tendency to have “initial” prices that are anything but
“initial”: they never sold at this price, it’s just to make the discounts seem
more interesting.
This is bordering illegal or at least very shady.

Another option is a program called Lego Digital Designer. You can build using
every brick available and depending on the version you can even place an order
for the parts used when your done.

LDD has not had a part update for years.  And the ordering bit was removed almost
a decade ago.

Why not use BrickLink Studio?

First - MOC means My Own Creation, just a pet peeve.

Next - Are your sets still built or do you plan to use those pieces in your
MOC? I have a large collection and have it comingled but sorted. Using the
bricks you already have is probably easiest. I would use them even if they are
the wrong colour and then switch things out (buy) to get the right colour or
better piece.

Also, when beginning a build, I usually have a general idea about something and
a few specific ideas. Sometimes I know just what the enterance will look like
but not how big it will be. Or I want to use a specific style of furniture and
build the outside to compliment it. Build the specific part and then, if necessary,
rebuild it into your building. MOC's are seldom built in one go and the beauty
of Lego is that you can keep making changes for as long as you want and no one
will ever know how many times you rebuilt it.

Another option is a program called Lego Digital Designer. You can build using
every brick available and depending on the version you can even place an order

Hi there,

I am new to LEGO, I have built about 20 sets and would like to have a go at making
my own MOC, however, I am stuck for the best way to select the bricks I need.

I would like to try my hand at something simple like a small log cabin with a
tree for example.

How did you decide your first bricks?

TIA

Can someone explain RRP to me?

Is the price on the LEGO website RRP?

In my experience (I've seen lots of old tires, many much older than 1998
- in fact the picture of 3740 is one of mine) they stay in good condition. The
primary issue seems to be toothmarks - I guess from children trying to remove
them from hubs. I have seen a few tires crack, maybe 1 or 2 get dry-rotted.

Part No: 3740 Name: Tire 24 x 43 Technic, Solid
*
3740 Tire 24 x 43 Technic, Solid
Parts: Wheel, Tire & Tread {Black}

I've seen these crack:

Part No: 132old Name: Tire Smooth - Small Solid
*
132old Tire Smooth - Small Solid
Parts: Wheel, Tire & Tread {Black}

I saw one of these dry-rotted:

Part No: 36 Name: Tire Smooth - Large Solid
*
36 Tire Smooth - Large Solid
Parts: Wheel, Tire & Tread {Light Gray}

I have several of these:

Part No: 3137c02assy1 Name: Brick, Modified 2 x 2 with Red Wheels for Dually Tire with Black Tires Smooth Small Dually (3137c02 / 7b)
*
3137c02assy1 (Inv) Brick, Modified 2 x 2 with Red Wheels for Dually Tire with Black Tires Smooth Small Dually (3137c02 / 7b)
Parts: Wheel & Tire Assembly
and others from the same time (1970s/80s), and they are mostly as good as new,
not counting marks from usage - the axles sometimes start to rust, but the tires
are fine. The light-gray rubber does turn into something terrible though, as
peregrinator wrote. But with the black ones I've hardly ever had problems.

They become harder and harder
until the day they just "are" rock solid
so you can no more remove tires from wheel, they can't flex
you play with them that way
and play
and play
someday in the future they'll break in 2? dunno, mines are hard as concrete
and probably will last another century, I mean, they seems so resistant

Hi,

I often take apart sets from the 2000s for details (9680, 9684). Tires in sealed
sets are almost always shiny and sticky. I always inspect such tires, there are
no cracks on them and they are normally dressed and removed from the wheels.

Who has met with such tires, share your experience. Can such tires be used? How
to store them better. With active use, do they remain in good condition or quickly
deteriorate?
So far, I have been quietly selling such tires, but I doubt how long they will
last to customers.

Regards
Alexei

My store is very new and I didn't have a payment method ready for them to
pay. I was inundated with messages from several buyers. The buyer who paid for
it bought it within 5 minutes of me putting it up unannounced.

  Hi ,

Congrats! The set(s) you pre-ordered from the BrickLink Designer Program have
been crowdfunded.

Now your sets go off to production. Yours are expected to ship in August 2022.
Creating awesome new sets takes some work, but we're sure it'll be worth
the wait.

You can visit LEGO.com for more info about your order(s).

----------------------------

I've ordered the Venetian Houses and the Retro Bowling Alley.

Excited that they go to production, but have to wait 9 months to actually have
them LOL

What have you ordered and how will you get through the 9 month wait?

I've ordered the Lego Shop....order status still is "in process"

  Hello,
Just a question for some fellow sellers.
I'm very new to selling here on Bricklink, and could use a bit of guidance
here.
I recently sold something rather rare here on Bricklink (buyer has not paid,
but has requested invoice).
Well, It seems as though I priced it far too low, because I've had someone
else message and offer me almost double the price I had listed it for.
Now, what I want to know is, would it be bad for me to cancel the first order
and sell to the second person?

This isn't something I would normally look to do, but I could really use
the money as the festive season draws closer and I am currently unemployed.

tbf I normally look at price history of Lego sets here on Bricklink before advertising
a price. However, there was no price history other than a new set which sold
for $568. My set is used, but comes with instructions and original box. There
are a couple other sets being sold on bricklink that come without the box and
instructions, and they are priced starting at $65. The amount I sold it for was
$175, over $100 above for only adding the instructions and box. The price being
offered by the second buyer is £300.

Anyways, sorry to digress. I want to know if A: It is acceptable to cancel the
first order under these pretenses, and B: If the first buyer could submit negative
feedback for myself for a cancelled order.

Thanks in advance! Any help is greatly appreciated as I am tremendously torn!

Thanks for the replies guys. I was fairly sure that was the right thing to do,
I just needed a bit of a push in that direction.

No, it is never acceptable to cancel an order just to sell an item to someone
else. The contract is supposed to be binding on both sides. Imagine yourself
in your buyer's shoes. And, yes, they could leave you a negative as well.

I understand your disappointment, but I think you know the right thing to do
here!

Good luck,
Jen

Yes. It's also bad that someone messaged you with a higher offer, if that
was done through BrickLink. You should also consider that the higher offer might
not actually be genuine.

No, it's not acceptable and yes, you should prepare for negative feedback
if you cancel the order.

Bad bad bad, don't do this.

Take it as a learning experience in pricing your Lego.

Yes it would be bad, you priced it and the person bought it. It's a contract.

That's really good news. My castle arrived today and fishing boat, from the

I read somewhere that the first round would be shipped before x-mas. My castle
is still on "in process." I'm anxiously waiting.

I am trying to combine Lego Technics and Lego Bricks but I don't find many
online resources and books about how they play together. Would anyone here have
any advice or reference to share please?

Depending on what you are looking to achieve, the old Model Team series might
be a good place to start:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=S&catID=60

Maybe take a look at some of these and get hold of the instructions for any that
are of interest.

I forgot this one...

Set No: 10194 Name: Emerald Night
*
10194-1 (Inv) Emerald Night
1072 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 2009
Sets: Train: RC Train

Many of my favourite sets use a Technics platform then use bricks on top. IMO
these make more appealing models than pure Technics alone.

  Hi ,

Laughing ever so heartily because outside of BrickLink, on a whim, I bought a
John Deere tracked loader at some online auction for $1,500. Didn't know
if it would start, run, or anything (it did!). Oh, it was also located in the
middle of a field in Central Wisconsin 1,200 miles away. This was just before
Thanksgiving 2020 and I still haven't 'received' it, technically.
LOL Maybe this Spring...

Sidenote: After doing some research on the loader, I found out it might have

Considering how shipping is in December (generally and this past years), if I
were you, I’d rather hope it was shipped in January

I thought they originally stated January; I don't remember seeing anywhere
that they would ship before Christmas.

Howdy,

This morning I was checking sets on Lego.com & I don't have the "Check Local
Stores" option showing up on the page when I look at a specific set.

It was working yesterday & I'm logged in, but that never made a difference
in the past.

Does anyone know if this happens from time to time or has Lego made a policy
change?

Thanks!

Castle isn't really my thing, but this set is a very good size, cute, and
well thought out. So many sets on Ideas are just so large nowadays that it is
nice to see a smaller set for once that really has everything a good set needs.
I really think my older son would love this. You have my support (#8,570).

I believe the game that the polybag comes with was delayed until "Spring 2022"
so you may need to wait until then for it to be more widely available. I'm
pretty sure it was a pre-order incentive.

-Pete

Yes it was about 2 years for a delay. I thought maybe they decided to not release
the game due to all the delays and just sell off the poly bags

I think a lot if the DVD / BR / video game promos (at least the European versions)
and also the foil bags that come on comics / kids' magazines get packed in
Poland. Some sellers get 100s of them, so they must get out unofficially somehow.
Maybe tge same with this one.

Just reinforces the idea that LEGOs have inherent worth and that they should
be taken care of. I guess this would make people feel less guilty about having
a bunch of LEGOs in their home, as they do hold quite a lot of value.

not this news cycle again

I think this is different to the old UCS Falcon is a better investment than gold
story from 5-6 years ago.

This one is more about investing in anything that retires reasonably quickly
but still has demand when it retires is going to give a good return.

I've found some fairly standard but retired sets have increased in value
quite significantly, more than they would in a normal year, probably due to richer
people having more money than normal (not spending it on holidays) and wanting
to buy better/more Christmas presents this year.

They're usually described as promotional sets, and I think that's reflected
in names on Bricklink - searching for 'promotional' finds 304 sets, which
will hopefully include the ones you're looking for.
