I am sure it is meant to be both.

I think if it were merely a movie scene then there would be a way to attach the
pieces to their starting positions.

would you please confirm that it is actually 366 and 367. 366 would be bad news
as we already have a LDraw color in place: 366 - Earth_Orange

How about shadow RGBs for these opal colors?

Cheers, Willy

If LDRAW is following Lego's numbers, Earth Orange should be 12. If LDRAW
is not following Lego's numbers, then there's no problem, just use another
random number for these new ones. If LDRAW is inconsistent in its numbering,
that should probably be addressed before adding new colors

Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars The Clone Wars

If you have this set in your collection and can confirm you Mace Windu came with
it, please reply. I suspect that the Mace Windu figure in this set is actually
an unrecognized variant that ought to be added to the catalog, along with his
head.

I've got a fresh unopened copy. I think I bought it for my son who wanted
the Tactical Droid, but we never built it. I can open it though if no one else
comes forward to help out.

It's a bit...pricey.

I'm not asking you to blow $250 on this question unless you really want to...

Well, to be honest, I _did_ teach quite a bit back in late 1990 - early 2000.
I was a fully licensed Microsoft/SCO/SuSE/RedHat/Symantec instructor, doing one-off
low-level network security courses for the DoD and the NATO in the Netherlands
(including some hacking stuff - that always made people "oooh" and "aaah" - fun
times). Then things became too "main stream", new "instructors" got licensed
because they didn't make enough mistakes on their instructor's exams,
they only tried to regurgitate the course material (I had to take over a few
classes because the so-called instructor was so bad), so that kinda killed the
fun for me.

And here I am, doing first-tier help desk support fixing printer connection issues.
Oh well. At least it is way less stressful at my age.

Niek.

Yup. Your end tag is in fact a syntax error. If browsers were to strictly follow
the HTML specs, they should throw an error and "give up"on rendering the page.
Especially in the earlier days, when pages were written "by hand", this would
cause a shocking amount of web pages to fail - not very user-friendly.

That perhaps others using other browsers may not have been seeing what I intended
all this time?

The type of error here is a syntax error. Any browser will simply throw out the
malformed tag. The remaining surrounding HTML code will then show there is a
missing closing tag (a _very_ common error), and the browser will slip one in.

  If so, don't I feel a fool...

Nah. People are not fools because they don't know something (just because
I don't know how to do open heart surgery doesn't make me a fool). You
did something, result was as you expected, so naturally your way of doing was
correct. And in this case it still is - it gets the job done (with the help of
friendly browsers). It was just me being pedantic.

It's possible but I'm guessing it looked fine on the most widely-used
browsers. Your H1/H2/etc. tag would have been closed automatically because it
was nested.

Yeah, I don't really understand this last paragraph of clarification, considering
the code as written, worked as intended. Not only for altering text size but
other things such as boldness, spacing, etc.

For myself, I'm gonna leave it as somewhat of a mystery for now. Got other
things to manage at the moment and my brain handles only so much reasoning at
a time, these days

Thank you, both you and Niek, for taking the time to offer the heads-up and attempt
to education. Very much appreciated.

Niek is right, what I see is that my browser is correcting your incorrect code.
These aren't macro tags like you would put in a drive thru email, they are

Interesting. It works for me and has for years. Seems to have worked for the

The joys of browsers trying to correct errors in HTML. Certain "classes" of errors

just close the store up, not sure if anyone is looking at inv that way, most
people are contacting me from a different website where I just uploaded a bsx

Thanks again!

I would use the Banner field, too: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/display.page

It's far more visible on all product pages of your store, and difficult to
miss or ignore. The Announcement field text, on the other hand, is small
on the page periphery and can be dismissed or collapsed.

separately. I got stuck on the upload image part of creating a "bulk lot" item

Store has a "current inventory average" value of 153k and sets have a "current
inventory average" of 60k, looking to get 75k for both or 30k for sets and 50k
for store OBO.

Any tips would be helpful

Thanks,

Joe

You could contact Brickmania and see if they want to buy a large portion of the
store. They're the biggest buyer of parts on the site and only go for new
lots.

Store is open so everyone can look at pieces.

I will add the sets later. 50k for pieces 75k for sets + pieces

Pick up only(Reno, NV) Really close to northern California right off the freeway.

email me @ theblockshop7@gmail.com for more pictures or any questions.

Thanks,

Joe

Sweet thanks!!!! This does seem like the best way to do it. I will be working
on that now!

I’d start by setting the selloff price as the minimum buy and reopening the store:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/management.page

Using any or all of these fields, Slogan ~ Announcement ~ Banner to convey
your intention with the high minimum: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/display.page

Opening your store places your inventory back onto the market, giving you more
exposure, allowing 24/7 perusal of your inventory and greatly increasing your
ability to cultivate prospective buyers.

In the meantime, you’ll no doubt generate offers to consider with your inventory
exposed with selloff caveats. Don’t drop your pricing, until you have structured
a deal.
At which point, close your store and set it up, transacting with
a close store and password.

Just one of several ways of doing it, Joe.

You can create a custom item with your entire store at a fixed price if you aren’t
interested in negotiating the price. As I understand them, a super lot wouldn’t
help since anyone wanting to buy a single item from your store would automatically
be on the hook for US $75,000 worth of merchandise 😅

You are better off with what you just did, a forum post advertising the sale
from where people can reach out to you privately if they are interested.

The Giant Penny is one of the iconic trophies in the Batcave.

Here is a custom printed version and a larger custom made version.

Which do you like better?

Well, I’m going to be honest and that may hurt you, so sorry about that first

The custom printed one wins hands down… but then, isn’t printing cheating?

Now, the bad review on the big one: even knowing it’s supposed to be a giant
penny, I can’t see it.  Starting with fact it’s not round.  Then the brown shape
in the middle doesn’t look like anything recognizable, even squinting my eyes,
certainly not a face.  Without indication, I’d have said “Maybe a beer pad?”

If you want to try again, don’t make so small a mosaic, it looks like Braille
or a Rorschach ink test.  Maybe try something more like the Brick Sketches:

Set No: 40386 Name: Batman
*
40386-1 (Inv) Batman
115 Parts, 2020
Sets: Brick Sketches: Super Heroes: Batman II

Set No: 40428 Name: The Joker
*
40428-1 (Inv) The Joker
170 Parts, 2020
Sets: Brick Sketches: Super Heroes: Batman II

But on so small a build, maybe simply use a real minifig head (with beard and
hair)?  Make it 3D.

Well, LEGO colour IDs are incremental.  The last (publicly known) colour was
365, so that the new ones are 366 and 367 is not surprising.

And it will only go on this way, so if LDraw wants to follow LEGO IDs, and as,
IMHO, doing one big change would be better than having to move one colour at
a time, LDraw will have to clear the numbers at least up to 400 if not 1000.

Otherwise, there’s the path used for LEGO-351: LDRaw-10351.  So adding the new
ones as 10366 and 10367.  But then, there’s LDraw-10378, so there’ll be another
problem in a few years….

Ryan,

would you please confirm that it is actually 366 and 367. 366 would be bad news
as we already have a LDraw color in place: 366 - Earth_Orange

How about shadow RGBs for these opal colors?

Cheers, Willy

Hi max, excuse a newbie, but what do you mean by other colours mixed?

No problem, maybe use a bit of dark gray, dark bluish gray, light gay, flat silver
etc, stones are never one color.

of course you mean add the illusion of colour and texture by using different
colour pieces!

Thanks for the info.

In addition to writing accurate feedback for last month's orders, it will
also be useful in the future to know the general level of risk when it comes
to used parts.

out as much as half because they had excessive scratching/teeth marks or were
worn out to the point that they wouldn't connect to other parts. In several
of my recent purchases, even the used tiles looked really great.

Would just like to know before I write any more feedback.

I could be wrong, but I don't think TLG has been cracking down on anyone
in regards to quality; it just seems that any Seller that attempts to sell unusable
items can only do so for so long before it's reflected in their feedback,
and people quit taking the risk anymore...

Though a quick glance at some of your recent feedback shows a great group of
Sellers, so there's no doubt in my mind that you have been dealing with the
"simply stellar" ones.

I haven't bought from BrickLink before the acquisition from TLG, so my perspective
is different, but I would be less ecstatic than you about the quality of the
parts in the 90+ orders I received.

On the whole, I estimate about 25% of individual orders had a package mistake,
either missing/broken/wrong color/wrong mold part or parts. Compared to the overall
number of lots and parts I bought, it still is pretty low, though, nowhere near
the 50% ratio you are evoking.

With Used parts, I found out it really depends on individual stores, in my last
batch, one store sent Used parts in very good condition, while another sent several
dirty and many worn parts. Since I'm using the Auto-Select feature in the
Wanted List Buy page, I'm not picky the first time I order at any store,
but I'm definitely adding a couple stores on my Dislike list with each batch
of 10-15 orders.

It isn't personal, I just expect better quality and am ready to pay marginally
more before having to resort to New parts.

Well.....seems only -some- of the parts used that mild adhesive, a lot of the

I did manage to salvage a few parts out of it though, mostly the technic pieces
and dragon arms from the front and such. At least it wasn't a more valuable
set!

Thanks for all the tips I'll try cleaning it up soon with hot water first!

Yeah, don't use alcohol if you can, it will mess up the parts' color;
hot water will do the trick if it's white glue, but if if was hot glue, for
example, then, you should be able to remove it with a blow dryer and a wooden
stick (so that it doesn't get soft from the heat, like plastic could do,
and doesn't scratch the plastic like metal).
If this really doesn't work, then, you can use alcohol, but you may have
to repaint your parts later on.

hi,
I had some succes with a blow dryer and peeling it off with the fingers.
alcohol can cause a reaction with the glue and give discoloration.

It sounds like white glue so a soak in water will do it. Try it first before
anything else.

Depends on the size. For small builds, like 16-32 studs, plates are OK.
For a bigger MOC, you might want a combination like Bricks 10x20 or Brick 8x16
on Baseplates 32x32. This gives you the advantage that you can also have occasional
holes in the ground (pot holes, man holes, steps, gutters) or space for cabling,
while keeping a smooth underside.

A Mils plate system offers some great stability if you have to move a larger
display frequently. Down side is it adds alot of parts cost

Here are instructions for the Moduverse system that we use for our community
builds, but they work great if you "only" build by yourself also !

I think your choice should be determined on the size of the final build and how
stable you want it. Will your model require multiple large plates or will
one large baseplate do? Will you need to move the model? A baseplate is likely
to bend and warp with movement, possibly causing structural damage to whatever
is built on top. If it's something that you or others will play with, movement
and stability needs to be taken into account.

If it's just a decorative/display item, a baseplate blends in more readily
to whatever it's placed on (plates jut up just a tad, causing a visual dissonance
to the surface it's sitting on).

I am planning a larger build to display, not to play with, so I guess I will
end up using some base plates and see how that turns out.

Thank

All depends on what you are building!

Baseplates arent as solid as regular plates and can misshape and bend depending
on the build.

Lego is going all in on Monochrome in a couple weeks. Are any of these ones
that were previously impossible to get?

Don't know, but I really like the product!

TLG has finally followed through on what has been a glaringly obvious
marketing opportunity for some time now.

Another proverb ringing out: large entities are slow to react/respond

They did a great job designing it and the price seems to be really good too.
I look forward to getting one to build and several to hold onto and if it parts
out well then some for that also.

Yes, but no? What does this mean? Yes I can but not for something physical? What

If you know the answer please respond with a simple yes or no because my little

You can use multiple VIP vouchers in an order, but the vouchers that are physical
rewards items can only be done 1 per order, like recently the VIP coins.

To expand, if I want a set that costs $300 how can I redeem $300 worth of VIP
points in one shot? There is only space online for one voucher. I've searched
the internet and I'm not the only one with this question and apparently you
used to be able to redeem all your points if you want. I know one guy who bought

There are 2 places where you can redeem codes on the Lego website.
The first one is in your basket where you enter codes for VIP promos like the
coins (you can only do one of these per transaction)
If you click proceed to checkout, just before you enter your payment details,
you can add the voucher codes from VIP points. You are able to add multiple of
these.

Hope that all makes sense and is helpful.

Paul

Thank you, Paul and all - I'll try multiple vouchers. Since there was only
one field I was reluctant to cash multiple $100 fir fear I could not use the
2nd and 3rd one on the same order

My take:
VIP points are redeemed through “discount vouchers” that you “buy” with your
points.
“Promotional codes” are something else (“enter YAY10 and get a 10% rebate”),
though I’ve never seen LEGO do that :/

Yes.

It has been about a year for me that I used VIP vouchers but I believe there’s
a new blank space for a voucher when you fill the first one.
(Too many empty spaces, or a fixed number of spaces would just confuse people
another way.)

I have searched and I have read their FAQ:

"QUESTION ABOUT USING MULTIPLE VOUCHERS: Can we use more than one voucher at
a time? – Yes, you can use more than one discount voucher at a time. However,
currently you cannot use more than one promotional code for physical rewards."

Yes, but no? What does this mean? Yes I can but not for something physical? What
the heck would I redeem that isn't physical, a screen saver I guess? Lame.

If you know the answer please respond with a simple yes or no because my little
brain needs that simplicity. If it is a yes, then how do you do it?

To expand, if I want a set that costs $300 how can I redeem $300 worth of VIP
points in one shot? There is only space online for one voucher. I've searched
the internet and I'm not the only one with this question and apparently you
used to be able to redeem all your points if you want. I know one guy who bought
the $800 Millennium Falcon with his points. Can you not do this now?

Lego is going all in on Monochrome in a couple weeks. Are any of these ones
that were previously impossible to get?

Don't know, but I really like the product!

TLG has finally followed through on what has been a glaringly obvious
marketing opportunity for some time now.

Another proverb ringing out: large entities are slow to react/respond
