I've got quite a few of this guy that's on Bret's list, Randy. Let
me know what you'd like me to do, if anything.

Minifig No: sp006new2 Name: Classic Space - White with Air Tanks and Motorcycle (Standard) Helmet, Logo High on Torso (Second Reissue)
*
sp006new2 (Inv) Classic Space - White with Air Tanks and Motorcycle (Standard) Helmet, Logo High on Torso (Second Reissue)
Minifigures: Space: Classic Space

I submitted inventory for this one what is wrong then with it it has in inventory
rtorso with long ribs I thought this is correct torso

Don't know that anything is wrong with it, it's simply on the list supplied.
If nothing's wrong with it, great. As always, I defer to you catalog people,
and why I ended my post to Randy with "if anything"

The inventory for that one is correct. The list supplied was just a list of all
minifigures in the catalog with "reissue" in their name. Not all of those minifigures
have incorrect inventories.

Yeah, I understood that, Randy. Thanks. I don’t follow catalog threads that deep.
The topic doesn’t interest me, I’m sorry to say. I’m just throwing out there
to you or any others involved with bettering the catalog, that I’m here to help
in any small way that I can, when I can.

If you or any of the other catalog people, see an item in our inventory that
can help you in doing your jobs, just let me know. I’ll make the time to check,
confirm, measure, weight, photo, add to the catalog or even send to you.

He is just saying that some are wrong. The list is all of the minifigures that
have "resissue" in the name. Obviously, you fixed a bunch of them.

* Add 1 Gear 901956 Trans-Clear Sorting Tray Lid, Dots 7 Compartment (Fits 901957)
* Add 1 Gear 901957 Medium Azure Sorting Tray Dots, 7 Compartment, Bottom (Fits 901956)

These requests will not be accepted since these gear items are considered the
original box for this set and are therefore not added to the inventory. They
are basically the same as the plastic tub for a set such as

Set No: 5537 Name: Blue Tub
*
5537-1 (Inv) Blue Tub
683 Parts, 2008
Sets: Creator: Basic Set

Cheers,

We need a solution to link these to the sets. I see you deleted all of them from
the inventories...

*
759528c06 Storage Case with Rounded Corners and Orange Lid, Blue Latches

I agree. However, since the sets have original box entries inherently tied to
them, having packaging supplies in the inventory right now basically creates
duplicate inventory entries. Also, they are technically not part of the set,
since LEGO does not count these items in the set part counts. To LEGO, they are
packaging, and the way BrickLink handles packaging is through the original box
entries for sets. As such, sets are not required on BrickLink to have original
boxes to be considered a complete used set for sale purposes. Adding these packaging
items to the set inventories would change that dynamic completely.

Robert and I have both had recent thoughts about the way the system is currently
designed where the one instructions entry and the one original box entry inherently
tied to the sets do not allow for the variations in instructions or set boxes
to be documented for the sets. If the system would have been designed differently
from the beginning where these were actually part of the inventories only for
tracking purposes and not sale purposes, things would have been a lot different.
This would have allowed for instructions alternates and box alternates. I think
him and I would both like the system redesigned to allow this.

Hi everybody,

I just would like to support Reza's point of view concerning that addition
to the Catalogue, I don't have anything to add about it, he and Evans already
explained well enough why it should be done.
I really can't understand why it was rejected, at most twice, so please could
any catalogue Admin take part in this discussion and explain us the reasons of
this decision?
Thanks,

how do I know which minifig
it was?

Ok, that makes sense.

But still, if the inventory is exactly the same, does it need a separate entry?
Imho, there should be at least a note saying what the difference is. And wouldn't
that note be sufficient?

For this one, there's only a note to explain the difference, no separate
entry.

I think the older one should have a plain-studed head too.
But inventories don’t always show these differences.
So it’s more that we know they use different variants but it doesn’t show in
the inventories (yet?).

The inventory of both is exactly the same and (imho) both minifigs in the pictures

The only difference is the average price sold, new is about double the price
of old.

If they're exactly the same, just one is from old sets and the other from
more recent collectible minifig sets, do they really need separate entries?

I watched six set unboxing reviews and they all had this newer goat. I have accepted
this request, moved this goat into the Regular Items section, and removed the
older version of the goat from the inventory.

Comments from Submitter:
The 48729b with a quantity of 2 are alternates for the two 48729 in the minifigure inventory of the set. The 48729b with a quantity of 1 is an alternate for the one 48729 in the Extra Items section. The Match ID for the 48729 in the Extra Items section will be added manually. Confirmed by the same member who submitted the following change request: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1200366

The 48729 in the inventory can be confirmed from a Brickshelf review of a sealed
set:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=388515

The images from that review are posted here for future reference.

It is looking much more likely that the changeover year for the 48729 variants
was around 2007.

P.S. Just for poops and giggles, how do these ribbed hoses with ~41 ribs compare
to the pearl dark gray 75c13 in the set? They should be about the same if the
rigid hoses are really 13L.

They're very similar in length; the rigid hoses are only about 1mm longer.
Thanks for the help!

I've created a new minifigure with a request to swap out the current image
as that is obviously the correct image for the new entry.

I am very well aware of the thread your referenced and the excellent work done
by that member of this community. This is the reason I did not create a new one
in the first instance as I did not think as far as swapping out images. For what
is worth, I do not have a brown eyebrow minifigure from that set to submit as
a new image for the existing inventory. As you said, a fine mess.

Comments from Submitter:
See minifigure image, also from my copy of the same set

These requests will not be accepted.

This minifigure head has now been found with four different colors of eyebrows:
brown, reddish brown, dark red, and red. The catalog does not distinguish the
four different colors at this time, and we are not planning on doing it in the
near future due to the large amount of work for little reward.

This recent thread is worth looking over:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1189272

Since the minifigure was inventoried with a head with "brown" eyebrows and the
original image was replaced many years later, we honestly don't know how
many different eyebrow colors were used in this set. Also, we cannot just change
the minifigure inventory as many sellers have this item for sale and some would
likely have it with a different head.

If you want to at least get your head recognized for now, you will need to create
a new minifigure (cty0140a) with the head you have that would get added as an
alternate to the minifigure currently in the set. At least in this way, we will
know that one with "red" eyebrows was found at some point if we decide to figure
this mess out some day.

Cheers,
Randy

Sets: BIONICLE: Titans

* Add 4 Part 78c13 Pearl Dark Gray Hose, Ribbed 7mm D. 13L (Alternate) (match ID 106621)

Comments from Submitter:
I parted out "8558 Cahdok & Gahdok," and it had four Pearl Dark Gray 78c13 hoses (with 41 ribs) rather than the 78c12 hoses stated on the parts list.

All of the ribbed hoses in

Set No: 8595 Name: Takua & Pewku
*
8595-1 (Inv) Takua & Pewku
221 Parts, 2003
Sets: BIONICLE: Titans
can be verified from the official LEGO replacement parts database, so I would
assume the lengths of the ribbed hoses in that set are correct. Unfortunately,
their database does not have data for the ribbed hoses in this set.

However, if you say that the brown 13L ribbed hoses in 8595 have ~41 ribs, then
we can safely assume that your ribbed hoses that have ~41 ribs in this set are
also 13L. This is also backed up by Jonathan's (member axaday's) data
which shows they are closer to 13L (although he just had them changed to 12L
two months ago ).

Instead of adding an alternate, I will make your request the regular part in
the set after accepting it.

Cheers,
Randy
