Sorting through my collection of mini doll torso's, I noticed the variety
of body shapes: I found 4 distinct shapes for boy, girl, man and woman. It seems
LDraw does distinguish these 4 shapes, but Bricklink only distinguishes the two
(?) FTFpb000c00 and FTMpb000c00

Could this be a catalog project to renumber the parts and distinguish the shapes
properly? Should we renumber as FTM, FTW, FTB, FTG (Friends Torso Man/Woman/Boy/Girl)?

Man (LDraw 92242):

Part No: FTMpb001c01 Name: Torso Mini Doll Man White Shirt Top with Open Collar, Reddish Brown Tie Pattern, Light Nougat Arms with Hands with White Sleeves
*
FTMpb001c01 Torso Mini Doll Man White Shirt Top with Open Collar, Reddish Brown Tie Pattern, Light Nougat Arms with Hands with White Sleeves
Parts: Mini Doll, Torso
shoulder width 10.2 mm, breast thickness 6.6 mm

Woman (LDraw 92243):
[p=FTFpb014c01]
shoulder width 8.8 mm, breast thickness 6.9 mm

Boy (LDraw u9210):
[p=FTMpb002c01]
shoulder width 8.8 mm, breast thickness 5.5 mm

Girl (LDraw 92241):
[p=FTFpb224c01]
shoulder width 8.8 mm, breast thickness 6.0 mm

I have bars with bevelled edges which are shorter than the flat edge bars and
also some bevelled edged bars which are the same length as flat edge bars. There
does not seem to be a consistent difference in variants to be sure if it is a
specific variant that differentiates the length.

Looks like the same machine skipped the center stripe in both cases.

Thank you. That's a crazy optical illusion it looks exactly like the silver
printing on the mask.

  If you go to col334 - War Machine and look at photo #1 the very bottom of the
mask below the lip has silver on the center section. Almost looks like a sideways
axe head. Photo #2 shows that everything below the lip is just black.

Is one of them correct or are both valid? Does #2 have the silver worn off? I
find it hard to believe an official catalog photo would be approved with a defect.

For the record, my col334 looks like photo #2 and I want to know if that means
it's worn. It is supposedly brand new thus my concern.

Thanks!

Wow, these are really sad news.
Marek, I hope you are well and thank you very very much for everything you have
done for BrickLink and the catalog. It was mostly your (and Randy's) helpful
and positive attitude which convinced me to become a frequent contributer two
years ago.

That continues to be our plan.

A loss for the BL catalog, he made an incredible work.

Hope well for him now!

Mrs. Incredible outfit?

In the official description of the set, she is only referred to as Elastigirl.
I guess it is a bit like the various Iron Man suits, where they take the name
lego gives and not extra terms.

I found a similar item from another set in the catalog:

Part No: 85984pb091L Name: Slope 30 1 x 2 x 2/3 with Red and White Danger Stripes Thick Pattern Model Left Side (Sticker) - Set 60075
*
85984pb091L Slope 30 1 x 2 x 2/3 with Red and White Danger Stripes Thick Pattern Model Left Side (Sticker) - Set 60075
Parts: Slope, Decorated
It's almost the same, the difference is the white dot in de lower left corner.

Should I add 'my' part as a new part or can I consider these items the
same?
And if it's distinctive, what name should I give it?
I'd like to hear your opinion!

It looks like the same part to me, just not quite perfect alignment of the sticker
print when cut.

The sticker looks narrower on yours so they would look odd as a pair of parts
that don't quite match on a set - submit as a new part (with a note in case
its not me that looks to approve it) and we'll discuss it from there if we
need to.

Thanks,
Paul.

I don't remember to what extent she goes by Mrs Incredible. I have no objection

My memory may be off on this, but I think in the movie (as this was in the sequel
I believe), they were talking more about her before her family life when she
was "Elastigirl". I think she became "Mrs. Incredible" after marrying "Mr. Incredible"
later on (as she "retired" from the scene and became a housewife for a while).
In theory, it wouldn't be wrong to include Mrs. Incredible in the name as
well (and would make it easier for someone searching it by that name).

(And for the record; I completely agree with you because of the outfit used here
since it's not her original Elastigirl one. I think both names would be more
fitting).

The CEP admin page is not updated yet with this new information. We hope to finish
that by the end of the week.

As part of the regular course of building the Community Expert catalog admin
program, we were planning to add another admin to the team this Spring (Apr/May).
That continues to be our plan.

A good bit of the money I spend on BL is to complete minifigures I buy elsewhere

Is it because I don’t have the Quiver? Can I list Minifigures if missing parts?

Yes, that's probably why, and no, you're not supposed to list incomplete
minifigures, at least not as regular catalogue items. You can list them as custom
items or part them out. Of course you can also buy the missing piece(s) and complete
the minifig(s) to list them

  Hi,

I need some clarification for the part.

Part No: 3245cpb012 Name: Brick 1 x 2 x 2 with Inside Stud Holder with White 'POLICE' on Blue Background Pattern (Sticker) - Set 7498
*
3245cpb012 Brick 1 x 2 x 2 with Inside Stud Holder with White 'POLICE' on Blue Background Pattern (Sticker) - Set 7498
Parts: Brick, Decorated

The inventory for this set indicates that it exists with the alternate part

Part No: 3245b  Name: Brick 1 x 2 x 2 with Inside Axle Holder
*
3245b Brick 1 x 2 x 2 with Inside Axle Holder
Parts: Brick {White}

So, should there be a catalog entry for this part with the police sticker on
it?

Yes, there could be if someone were to add it.

  If so how would it be classified? Alternate part/counterpart?

Counterpart.

Just wondering why a Minifigure I listed was deleted.

This is what it is...Dragon Knights - Knight 1, Light Gray Legs with Black Hips,
Black Chin-Guard, Quiver

This is my Comments: Excellent Condition, no splits or dents. Missing Quiver/Arrows.

Is it because I don’t have the Quiver? Can I list Minifigures if missing parts?

Thank you

The message would have said it is because it is incomplete.

BrickLink is now enforcing the policy saying minifigures must be complete. You
can list as a custom item or list the individual parts.

The release year is listed as 1987. However, the instruction is copyrighted in
1986 and it also appears in the large 1986 catalogue

Cheers,

Ole

The torso piece might.

That would, yes. But that is an exception and will only be added once the full
torso assembly is added.

  Perhaps the need is there for headgear as well. However I disagree with by theme. I found
again and again that the second you think something is set by LEGO to be used
in one set it will appear in another. Maybe not often with Star Wars but still.

Yes but my thinking was more to do with the theme the part is more commonly associated
with or originates from therefore for instance

Part No: 30177 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Ninja Wrap
*
30177 Minifigure, Headgear Ninja Wrap
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

I would category this as say Ninja/Ninjago headgear and ignore the fact its used
by Star Wars Dengar

  My opinion is to categorize with the real world (helmets, hoods) and than the
theme will work itself out. Thanks for the response.

Yes I agree though for it to work I think it would have to have a crossover of
parts some categoried by theme and others by the style so you'd have stuff
like Stormtooper helmets under star wars headgear and stuff like Batman cowls
under Super heroes headgear but then other items like all these:-

Part No: 3844 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Castle with Neck Protector
*
3844 Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Castle with Neck Protector
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

Part No: 10054 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Castle with Cheek Protection and Comb (Rohan)
*
10054 Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Castle with Cheek Protection and Comb (Rohan)
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

Part No: 90392 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Spartan Warrior
*
90392 Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Spartan Warrior
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

Part No: 60748 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Castle with Cheek Protection and Studded Bands (Dwarf)
*
60748 Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Castle with Cheek Protection and Studded Bands (Dwarf)
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

Part No: 95676 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Gladiator
*
95676 Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Gladiator
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

Part No: x1533 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Viking with Side Holes
*
x1533 Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Viking with Side Holes
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear

Not categoried by their theme (Castle, Lord of the Rings, Vikings etc..) but
categoried together as Warrior/Knight type helmets
I mean I would'nt really want to see a single helmets category that consists
of everything from Knight helmets to construction worker helmets to Ironman helemts
if you see my point

That said I would'nt have a problem with a hats category that contained a
little more variation from cowboy hats to basball caps to top hats though a separate
Trade/Occupation category may also be useful for stuff like chef, butcher hats,
construction worker helmets, police hats or even Racing driver helmets?

I have a couple. But I have no idea how to weigh or measure the dimensions of
these things. So probably not much help.

I imagine the dimensions and weight are going to be very similar to the other
Minecraft zombies, given the parts, are the same aside from the print.
