That's funny. I just encountered 4 of these:

Part No: 4150 Name: Tile, Round 2 x 2
*
4150 Tile, Round 2 x 2
Parts: Tile, Round {Lime}

With "X" bottom in Light Bluish Gray in some 2019 sets. I mixed together many
sets so unfortunately, I can't trace which one it's from. But it's
definitely a set from this year. According to the catalog, the part died out
in 2014.

In catalog we write it separetly
"Mini Doll"
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?q=Mini%20Doll
not
"Minidoll"
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?q=Minidoll

I had never actually used it as a search term (and don't really care either
way), but is there a reason for not using the correct (according to LEGO) hyphenated
term Mini-doll?

Although, both Mini-doll and Mini-Doll are used here:

Set No: 853556 Name: Friends Mini-doll Campsite Set blister pack
*
853556-1 (Inv) Friends Mini-doll Campsite Set blister pack
23 Parts, 3 Minifigs, 2016
Sets: Friends

Set No: 40388 Name: Mini-Doll Dress-Up Kit
*
40388-1 (Inv) Mini-Doll Dress-Up Kit
80 Parts, 2018
Sets: Disney Princess: Supplemental

I would call them Mini Dolls because they have mini doll heads and hair. They
would just need a word in their description to indicate that they are chibi.
They are a little off book in having apparently solid bodies, but Minifigs come
in 4 different heights because of their different legs and they are still minifigs.

I vote microdolls

Tiny versions of minifigs with regular minifig heads are called microfigures,
so logically you'd call tiny versions of minidolls with regular minidoll
heads microdolls.

I call it disappointing...that they chose to make those instead of minifig versions
of Belle and the Beast.

...say that three times, real fast

Maybe finally getting a more descriptive term for what is now merely “plastic”
considering nearly all Lego parts are plastic?

I’m mean it’s not a big deal for those that have been around the BL catalog (it’s
known) but consider the many that have not, when trying to locate these parts.

I've offered a more descriptive term, but not posted it as a suggestion,
as I'm sure some of the many smarter/more creative people here in the forum
could come-up with an even better term. At least better than just plastic.

Perhaps: sheet plastic (printed & unprinted)

-Cory

Definitely can't say it three times fast but i like the general idea, seems
like it might be more useful for the new users of the catalog as long as it still
intuitively suits the more seasoned users of the catalog.

Intuitive as it implies, to all. But, if I were made to pick the 'priority
of focus' when creating the new terms (which I don't feel applies) I'd
say the new user, specifically the buyer. We'll get used to the new terminology
quick enough, as were more immersed in using the catalog.

I thought that the work that was done not too long ago on the "other" category
was categorized and implemented fantastically the new categories were named very
well and make sense intuitively- is that what you meant?

Unfamiliar with the changes, but if it's as you put it, yeah! Members such
as you, I trust in taking the lead on these types of questions. And by members
such as you, I mean fully active sellers with real world experience that have
a dog in the fight.

I know some users had a valid issue with the changes as it relates to storage
as they were storing pieces by category and changes to the category names created
an issue.

are there specific examples of part numbers you think that could be better categorized?

I appreciate your vote of confidence in our team however- as much as we use and
familiar with the catalog. I’m ashamed to say that our contribution to it has
been 0. The credit should be given to the fine people who contribute and manage
the catalog.
We have only voiced our opinions when it was asked or when suggestions were discussed.
I again think that if you can provide a few item numbers for the parts you think
can use the re-categorization-
It will probably go a long way to further this cause.

Yeah, not that invested. Just an idea I've carried for some time. Now, I
don't need to carry it

Like I said; it's up to you that have a dog in the fight, go get'em!

Oh... Well, you're alleviated and not invested while i'm content with
the way things are... We might not have reached a destination

but i sure enjoyed the ride!

...ya gonna pitch-in for gas

  Best wishes

Same...
