To better adapt order notification and order invoice templates for instant and
non-instant invoices/payments, I suggest an "INSTANT" conditional block macro
tag.

From my point of view, we can improve the communication with our customers and
their shopping experience if the e-mails they receive do not contain unnecessary
or inapplicable information.

Example: We received messages from customers who asked "Why do I receive an invoice
with payment instructions? I already paid!"

local pickup, (No idea why, certainly not my choice) which would be fine if buyers

by people living thousands of kilometers away that I then have to go through
the hassle of getting shipping money from.

Yes, this definitely should be implemented. I am honestly surprised setting defaults
is missing entirely. Not just for shipping methods, also for payment method and
currency we really need to be able to set a default to avoid a confusing and
error prone user experience.

The system is so flexible and accomodating, it's really well done (thanks
team! ). But this basic feature that even used to be there in the past is now
missing, odd!

I also just posted about this: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1061672
Not sure if you saw but decided to repost it as a suggestion, or that you missed
it, but in case you missed it, it beautifully illustrates the point that I am
making there about how dysfunctional this Bricklink forum is

I've found this solution:

PaulvdB
'For instant checkout shipping methods are sorting from cheapest to most
expensive
with cheapest selected by default. If you don't want pickup at the top you
can change that shipping method to manual invoice. That will put it at the bottom.'

It might not hurt to submit a bug report on this issue. I would, but I can still
see the submit button, so that might not help BL figure out the problem.

I would like to see the possibility to overwrite S&H for any given item, the
same way we can put our own dimensions/weight.

We could offer free shipping by setting it to 0 or for example a flat $10 shipping
fee. Either only for domestic shipping and two values, one for International,
one for Domestic.

When browsing, buyer could see a specific free/flat shopping icon.

If the item with specific shipping is bundled with other items, it would be excluded
from the calculation and its flat shipping fee added to the result (if any).

Further more, in search filters, we could select items with free/flat shipping.

Sounds too complicated but the separate domestic/international setting reminds
me of how I have different handling fees ($1 US/$1.50 foreign) and have to put
the international one manually

Does anyone else think the checkout page needs to be modified? The first option
for store terms "Agree & Continue" makes it seem to the buyer they are agreeing
to commit to the order w/ the shipping option shown as soon as they click on
it. It even says "Items will be reserved for you, and you will obligated to
purchase them.
" right under the Agree & Continue button. This message shouldn't
be displayed until the Place Order button shows up. I would also rather have
the Shipping tab show up first or leave S&H empty until they reach that tab so
the buyer can see all options available.

Interesting suggestion. I like it. Voted yes.

We also save the "my copy of invoice" in our archive. So yes we would like to
see this option.
Also if the invoice is sent automatically maybe the system can automatically
set the checkmark for invoicing. See attachment all orders are payed. The system
always say we have orders to invoice, but in fact they are already payed via
instant checkout.

I have saved these for future reference for years.

Order notification worked for me until yesterday - both Instant checkout and
manual.
Today i've had the first IC order without notification.

As for invoice copys - i too like to get them again.
I understand that not everyone wants or need them, maybe the order setting "Default
E-Mail Me a Copy on Invoice to Yes" could be used as trigger for automatic invoices.
It's already there, should not be to complicated to implement.

thanks,

It can be found while in a shop, click on a category, scroll to the bottom and
there
is a link for "item display settings" which will bring up the option for buyers
to view cart weight. Shoppers must be logged in or the link will not display.

Thanks for the reply, however I cannot find this link from these instructions.
Do you have any further instructions or help?

Thanks,
Cob

While in store, pick a category, then scroll to bottom of parts list, click on
Item Display Settings

Found it thanks so much!

Hi,

there is a Quote for request botton. I do not buy, if seller hasn't it.

Actually, the latest thing I bought from a seller stated that they had the quote
feature button implemented within their store, and when I placed the order, it
wasn't shown, so I think the quote feature should be made mandatory as this
will help a lot of buyers...

Paul

I really like the quote feature - especially if instant check out is not available

Only if we can force buyers to automatically remove some funds from their PayPal
to cover any shipping cost increases after the total package is weighed

I've lost a little bit of money so far due to wrong weight. This is a big
reason why I charge an extra dollar on all orders in order to make sure I'm
not losing money on orders from miscalculated shipping costs.

  Hey folks!

I think this option is counter-productive for buyers. (See image below)

Sellers are allowed to turn off the display of cart weight in their store, even
if the buyer has chosen to see cart weight.

This means that if buyers are cost-of-shipping-sensitive, they have to manually
calculate the cart weight, or ask the seller for a quote.

Why force this upon ourselves when the website can automatically do it for us?

I suggest we force sellers to have the weight of cart shown within their store.

Thanks for voting!

  Hay Guys,

New to bricklink just noticed that you can't setup a different postal/shipping
adress then billing address.
Would be handy there's a lot of people living in different countries then
born.
Sometimes it would be easier and cheaper to send package to Motherland.
Regards

At checkout you can enter a different ship to address.
