This is a real bummer. The new version sucks and doesn't really serve the
purpose that the classic version served. It's very disappointing that it's
being removed. Honestly, what harm does it serve to keep it running??

  Hello Everyone,

In June of last year, we introduced a new Wanted List upgrade. This upgrade came
with a newly-designed buying experience which focused on the necessity to compare
and plan out multiple carts at once, as well as make it easier to manage multiple
lists.

Since BrickLink's Wanted List is a core feature for most users, we currently
provide the classic version for members to use as a backup in case there are
glitches with the new version. This is intended to be a temporary solution.

The classic version of the Wanted List feature will become unavailable on
June 5, 2017.
At this point, we have ensured that the new version of the
Wanted List covers all desired functionality (plus more) from the classic version.
If you have any issues with the new version, please let us know as soon as possible.

Thank you for the continued support, bug reports, and helpful feedback as we
continue to roll out important changes.

Sincerely,

Jaclyn

Hi I would to keep the classic it's simple and gets the job done. AT least
I believe it does in my opinion.

Please keep the Classic Wanted List. I usually check it once a day, it's
so quick to do this, and so convenient. This hardly can be said of the new version!

Hi Jaclyn,

You state that you have ensured that the new version has all of the desired functionality
of the old version. This is untrue. I want to see the prices listed when I look
at my wanted lists.

But you can:

Open a WL | More Options (between the search box and the percentage) | Items
for Sale Options | Show
Then Apply.
Beware of the default sort: by store name.

Thank you for your help with this again. It is a UI issue... I went to More Options
but then my eyes were immediately drawn to the "Sort By" which is by the list
of items as opposed to adjusting the list using the drop down "Sort stores by"
so after a couple of attemps I got it to look like something I can use. It has
also kept my settings so that's a good thing.

(I’m starting to get tired.
Admin, that this has to be explained again and again and again should be a big
clue that, besides the fact that no-one ever reads the explanations, there’s
a UI problem with those settings.)

Furthermore I noticed that now if you try to use the buy
wizard and you select the store that has the most items from your wanted list
that the green and red arrows are now gone so the newer buyers not knowing how
to research if they are getting screwed on pricing will put in their orders not
realizing this.

Feature removed. Lots of complaints here. Some (sellers mainly) say hurrah. Will
remain removed.

(I suspect it was also totally bugged.)

Buy wizard still does not save your search settings and I have
to adjust them every time so that only U.S. sellers pop up (no offense to our
friends overseas and abroad) which is HIGHLY ANNOYING.

So true.

Lastly the most underhanded and unethical adjustment to come along to the new
version of the wanted list is something called "Easy Buy" which should more appropriately
be called "Sucker Buy". Not only does it not show the prices of the parts you
are buying but it also brings up stores on my least favored list! I have some
stores on that list that charge outrageous prices for their elements.

Related to the settings thing?

This reaffirms my belief that changes companies make are almost always greed
based yet they veil these changes under the premise that it's "better for
the customer"

Seems to me BL’s changes are mainly untested and bug-ridden.

On a positive note it is WAY easier to add items to wanted lists now.

Please keep the classic wanted list with all of his features!
Since the new wanted list came out i looked into it and it tourned out impractical..
So i worked with classic version because its better for me and i think also for
others

I dont understand why the classic variant must be removed! Bricklink worked since
the new wanted list came out with classic version parallel without any problem
for me

So please keep the classic wanted list. Buying bricks without classic version
will cost a lot more time and will be frustrating

Also, being able to create a few preset feedback message that also can be randomly

I would say just get rid of the feedback system and just track the number of
completed transactions. Allow users to leave public comments about the buyer
or seller but don't force them to when they have nothing to say.

It's already possible to leave feedback without a comment.

I can’t use the new wanted list; it’s too complicated and some features, like
buy wizard, just don’t work and cause my browser to hang. And I can’t find many
features like finding a list of stores that have a certain item on my wanted
list sorted by price of this item in each store. The “wizard” forces me to sort
by unimportant criteria like store min buy when it should allow me to sort by
price which is more important when making a buy decision.

I don’t know why you “have to” remove the classic wanted list, but we’re familiar
with it and we use it to easily buy stuff from Bricklink. You shouldn’t remove
a feature that works and force one that doesn’t work on us, this will cause some
of us who can’t use the new “wizard” to leave only because we can’t use it or
it’s still full of bugs and don’t work on some browsers.

Please keep the classic features because we know them and they work just fine.
Please don’t make Bricklink difficult for us to use; new is not always better.

When I use the wanted list how do I make my own store show up in the list of
sotres?

My store would show up in the old version.

Yes it does.
Open a WL, click “More Options.” Click “Show” on the right under “Items for Sale.”
Don’t forget to change the sorting key below (stupidly defaults to Store Names).
And click “Apply.”

Unfortunately I am sure you would be the first to complain if your parts were
damaged or lost when shipped in a padded envelope when a box would be more suitable.

You need to allow a reasonable amount for packing and remember that the packing
weight will not rise exponentially with weight of order, for example 42g for
a box for 25g parts does not mean that the box would need to weight 168g for
100g of parts. Small orders can be just as expensive to pack as larger orders
(within reason).

To ensure that you are not exposed to costs that "you" think are unreasonable
I suggest you use the "Quote" function at check-out to get an exact figure before
committing - unfortunately not all shops offer the Quote facility, but you might
be better sticking to those that do if you are unhappy with shipping costs on
your orders to-date.

In Suggestions, slamdunx writes:
Suggest adding brick weight field to the catalog.

I have observed that a buyer cannot tell if a seller has been reasonable in calculating
the shipping costs for an order until they have received the bricks, at which
point it is too late to question it as the order is paid.

In at least two cases I've had a seller overcharge for shipping and fees
by using packaging which is unreasonably heavier than the bricks being shipped.
The only option available to the buyer in this case is to give negative feedback.

If the catalog included brick weight then the buyer could make an informed choice
before paying and negative feedback could be avoided.
