Hi all, I am new here but a friend suggested this to me. I recently used Mecabrick
to create an idea and I am now wondering if I can upload a file somewhere to
identify and possibly order the pieces I need for it. I would love to buy them
here and maybe create an instuction manual for the set. I have a .stl file or
a .dae file. Does anyone have experience with this? Thank you.

Someone else posted about this in the forum not that long ago, maybe this will

Hi and welcome

You need a Studio file (.io), an LDraw file (.ldr or .mpd), an LDD file (.lxf),
a BrickStore file (.bsx), or a BrickLink Wanted List XML file (.xml) to be able
to upload to a Wanted List here.

I don’t know any tool that can convert the generic STL or Collada (.dae) files
to the other formats or to a parts list.

Maybe you can get the parts list from Mecabricks?

Once it’s done, you can upload your file here: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/upload.page
(hover over the white, heart-shaped “Want” icon and click upload).

Thank you. I have many Wanted Lists that I’m working on and I just didn’t scroll
down far enough on my iPad to see which one was marked. Problem solved.

ONE of your lists has a duplicate and that blocks ALL your lists.

Check on the list of WLs, the culprit should be marked: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/list.page

Then open it, the duplicate(s) should be marked.

Hi,
It was sold 7 times in the last 6 months, so it was available here.
Do not hesitate to add it in your Wanted List and tick the "Notify" box,
you would be warned if a seller add it in his/her store and notify members.

Hi,

If you are on the Buy page (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/buy.page ), use
the Wanted Items tab on the left (point (2) on the first pic here: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2445
).

Then, when you click on a store (in its line, not its name), it will show what
items they have and if they can provide the quantity (numbers + colour code:
black = no, yellow/orange = partial, green = total qty).

Wow.

You may appreciate free open source:
https://www.brickstore.dev/

Then you've ALL your wanted lists locally, which is far safer.
Then you can upload those you think you need.
And more important edit them locally including automatic ref changes by BrickStore

And also remove parts bought while making diff of the files, or remove from your
shop in a click, etc.

You don’t need to open each and every one of them, but you do need to look at
the list of WLs to see which ones are marked as problematic and then correct
them, one by one.

Wanting to buy poor condition/broken light up lightsaber minifigs.

I've been repurposing poor condition light up lightsaber minifigs to make
custom new characters. I've made a Luke Skywalker and Qui-Gon Jinn and I
have a Darth Maul in progress. I'd like to make more since I have a lot more
ideas for characters but I need more poor condition light up figures to do so
since I don't want to break any good condition ones.

Ones I need should have the lightsaber arm in good condition (no chipped hilts),
and have the light be working (dead batteries are ok, as long as the internals
aren't broken permanently, If you're unable to test I may just take the
chance and buy anyway).

If you happen to have any and are willing to sell please send me a message and
I'll give you an offer.

Thank you.

About 20 Duplo figures would also be helpful for the smaller children attending

Hi,

There’s duplicate entries in ONE of your wanted lists, and that blocks ALL your
wanted lists.

If you go there: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/list.page you’ll see which
WL(s) has duplicates.
And when you visit that WL (or those WLs), the items will be marked.

You need to correct all your WLs before you can do anything else.

Ah looks like I had 1 old variant still in my default list, easy fix. Thanks
so much!

I want to make a custom lego set as a graduation gift for my daughter. While
I am a bit of a computer nerd, I'm not familiar at all with Studio and don't
really have time to figure it out. Is there someone out there that I can commition
to make a custom Studio design for me from a picture? It's a house she drew

Soon = Never

BDP = Stretched over the longest time possible with monthly reminders that it's
not ready yet
Seller Tools =

the set-up of a wanted list:

Share Wanted List - Feature coming soon!

On the other hand who would need this feature while you can send the XML or studio
file to friends, or post your MOC on rebrickable and other places.

I guess they had this idea and then realized it's not worth developping it,
hence the "soon"?

The problem is that not everyone is so tech savvy.

It is easier to just click a button that says "Share" than to download
it as a file, upload the file as an email attachment, download the file again,
and then reupload it to BrickLink.

I sell PDF instructions in my store. I've had to explain to many buyers how
to upload the XML file to their wanted list so they can order the parts. Some
don't even know what the XML file is for.

There are instances where it would be convenient to be able to share a wanted
list with another member:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1399267
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1448305

But, knowing BrickLink, they may feel that the effort required to develop the
new feature is simply not worth it, even if it would be useful.

Even the effort required to remove the "Coming Soon" text seems too much.

For MOCs, Rebrickable and the Studio Gallery make sharing easier, but that doesn't
work if you just have a list of parts and not a MOC or if your Studio Gallery
listing contains the word "LEGO".

BrickLink PLEASE, and only for what's apparent to users of course, have:

* a dated Log announcing what you'll do,

* a timestamped Log of any implemented change.

Please!!!

This is updated a few times a year at least:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2547

It does NOT contain all the changes unfortunately.

Russell told me they'd fix something "next week" and we're now
3 years and counting 3 years of browsing set inventories that have their parts
listed in totally random order within each category, rather than by the dimensions
of the parts.

Nothing you couldn't upload on a free dropbox account.

But sure that could be an extra feature, but for what cost and real usage?

I guess they had this idea and then realized it's not worth developping it,
hence the "soon"?

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=M&catString=868

That page should take you to the list of all Nexo minifigs so that you can see
all that exist. From there, if you click on each, you can add them to a Wanted
List (middle of the page with a heart symbol). After you've put together
the Wanted List for all of the figures you're interested in, you can use
the Easy Buy feature to search for stores that match the most/all of your figures.
It'll make carts for each store to allow you to easily buy from stores in
the US and around the world

I think you make a good point with this. I actually don't know why I would
want to share a wanted list, ha ha. Maybe only for sets that are not officially
available on BL, such as the sets from the Bricklink Designer Program.
Nevertheless, if you promise a feature, you should deliver on it or see it and
adjust the software accordingly.

Hi I want a few items from a couple of sets which I believe were launched on
January 1st, but although the sets have been advertised, no sellers seem to have
added the individual items from them to their inventories yet, how long does
it usually take for this to happen?
Thanks

  Hi all,

Hi,

I've been having some problems with buying from wanted lists. Almost every
time, I'm missing pieces in orders that should have been pulled from the
wanted list. I've confirmed that it's not a problem with the stores ordered
from. I've looked at the wanted list menu on the side, and it says that everything
has been added (ex. 100/100 wanted items). I would hope that it means everything
is good to go, but it's not?

Indeed, it’s not.

100/100 means: I found 100 lots, you wanted 100 lots, but the two are not counted
the same way!

If the algorithm had to use more than one lot in a store, or in several store,
they are all counted in the first number!

For instance: you want 3x Red bricks, it finds 1x in one store and 2x in another:
it’ll say it found 2/1 (200%!!!).

Same problem with bulk lots (when a store wants you to buy 100x of a part, even
if you want only 10x).

Besides looking through the carts manually, is there a way to make sure I have
everything from my lists? Could I be missing a step?

Use the Wanted Items tab of the left: the items that are in Selected shops will
disappear (or show 0, depending on the boxes you tick). So if there’s still
items in there once you’ve used Auto-select, those parts weren’t found and won’t
be ordered.

If the Wanted list has less than 100 lots you can print it just by opening it
and using the print function of the browser, else if it has more than 100 lots
that don't show in one page you have to do it multiple times or download
the software Brickstore that can import and print the full list.

Oh, interesting. Yeah, that works.

The Download button is in each WL’s page, on the top right.

That's even better. It includes the QTYFILLED field which is omitted by Brickstore.

Thank you!

I found the feature and help for the xml format to upload want lists to Bricklink.
Does the capability exist to download my existing want lists? It doesn't
have to be XML but it would be convenient to use the same format in both directions.

I looked around for a while and searched the forums but found no evidence that
such a feature exists.

I'm sure this is an obvious issue, I created a new Wanted list, and cannot
see it when I go to add new items to it. I can see it under the "Want"
tab, but not when I go into individual minifigs for item number 71039:

Set No: 71039 Name: Minifigure, Marvel Studios, Series 2 (Complete Random Set of 1 Minifigure)
*
71039-1 (Inv) Minifigure, Marvel Studios, Series 2 (Complete Random Set of 1 Minifigure)
1 Set, 2023
Sets: Collectible Minifigures: Super Heroes: Marvel Studios Series 2

The first minifig added to my newly created Wanted list was inserted into the
list, but the name of that Wanted list does not appear in the list for new additions.

BrickLink has so many issues it's hard to keep track of them!

If this is known please just insert a link to the topic discussing it - and where
applicable - any solutions that have been found.

Cheers ...

Just checked the listing and noticed that there has been one added to someone’s
collection.

Again if you know someone with this set please let me know, or if you own this
set than it would be great if you could inventory it for the catalog.

Thanks.

Might be best to shop outside the uk

Not worth it for me with shipping costs on top, thanks for the suggestion though.

Sometimes it can be quite cheap if I had it (which I don’t) I could ship it
to the uk in used condition for only 8.17 euros (approx)

Hi,

I’m guessing you’re talking about a Wanted List

There’s no way to change the Have fields all together
You can batch-change Colour, Condition, Price, Quantity, and Remark, but not
Have.  (For those, select the items and click the appropriate button on top of
the list.)

Now, you say “upload,” what do you mean by that?
Did you upload a file?  Or did you use “Part Out”?

In both cases, you have the possibility to exclude parts (rightmost column in
the verification page, the box in the header allows to select all the items at
once, so you just need to deselect the ones you want).
That doesn’t affect the Have field, that completely ‘ignores’ the part: it’s
not in the WL in the end.

If you upload a Wanted List as an XML file (https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=207
), you can use the field QTYFILLED to set the Have field.

But, again, that’s before you have the WL.

As a workaround for when the set is already totally in the WL, you can select
the parts you really need and move (or copy) them to another WL.  You can easily
create a new WL for that.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have about 30 wanted lists also named by the set list missing parts. They
way I keep track of what parts go where is by also keeping the set number in
the comments section of the parts I want. When an order comes in, I look at
my whole combined wanted list. I can scroll through that list, match the parts
to the set they go with, and delete parts from my wanted list. When I'm
done with that process then I go look at my list of individual set wants. I
can tell when a set has all of its parts because there will be zero items left
in those set wants. This system also helps me keep track of what parts are higher
priority for me to pursue.

Forgot to add one more thing! As I'm going through my big combined list
with ordered parts, I start a collection pile with the set numbers I'm expecting
to see in my ordered parts. Most often this is a plastic bag with a scrap of
paper with the set number. So when I'm done I have a few (or many) collections
with the set number so I can easily add those parts to the sets that need them.

Hi,

Sorry, there’s no way to ‘undo’ changes on a Wanted List.  If you changed the
Want quantities and/or deleted lots, the info is lost

There’s also no link between orders and WL.

Next time, you have multiple solutions:
— don’t delete lots, use the Have field,
— don’t delete lots, move them to a new “ordered” list,
— download your WLs and orders and use BrickStore or another tool (spreadsheet…)
to manage them.

I updated my want lists (each named by the set missing parts) after making a
purchase. Unfortunately this creates a problem. When my order arrives I'm
not going to have a way to sort the parts according to each parts want list.
Is there any way to go back and see what I originally had in each list before
I updated them? If not, it will force me to have to go through every set to verify
all the parts which will take a half century to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bulk lots: lots with a small “x10” or “x50” or another number. That means you
have to buy by multiple of the indicated number (or the whole lot).

There’s no way to prevent Auto-select to select them.  Except by least-favouriting
the stores one by one (and maybe lose on good bargains).

Also check that Auto-select found all your lots by using the Wanted Items tab
on the left ((2) on the first pic here: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2445
).

When the MOC Pop up store was available, there were building instructions available
for daimonetto's Corner Ice Cream Parlor.

Since the Pop up store is no longer active, I am not able to locate the MOC building
instructions in the Studio Gallery and would love to get my hands on them.

Does anyone know how I can contact daimonetto to see about purchasing them?

There a rabge of pots, buckets and containers available for Lego plants. And
of course, some of actual sets that have buildable plant containers. What size
are you after?

As for soil, some 1x1 round plates in the brown ranges (brown, dark brown, reddish
brown, dark tan, tan) make good materials to hold a plant or for the surface
matter.

UPDATE:

Nya's Samurai X MECH
71775
This set is no longer needed.

The other two sets are still on my wishlist.

If you can provide them both + shipping to finland for the total price of 55
($/€) or less, I will buy them off you.

Thank you for this very comprehensive reply!
I will try with your trick.

I don't now if the functionality I was suggesting is on the roadmap for the
Bricklink website but it would definitely be a very useful feature.

the system update my Wanted Lists based on my recent order?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

The only tool is “Apply Order”: a button in each Wanted List (top right).  It
modifies the “Have” field.

BUT, it doesn’t remember anything, so you can apply it multiple times on the
same WL.  That can cause problems when you have the same part in different WL
(say 10x in one WL, 20x in another, and you bought 25x, it will say both WLs
are fulfilled).

Best solution is either:
1. Use third-party tools: BrickStore (app) or Rebrickable (website, but has its
own catalogue so there’s conversions needed).

or 2. Make an “ordered” WL with each of your orders (button at the bottom of
the order details) and then search each order in your WLs.  The “ordered” items
will be in the results next to the “wanted” items and you’ll then easily see
the quantities and edit the entries.

I'm essentially willing to wait over to next year for the discounts. My offer
is mainly here if anyone wants my money now for what I'll spend later.

I would if I had more money, but my income is low. I rely on discounts unfortunately.

For context, these sets would be used to create alternative build MOC mecha that'll
be posted to Rebrickable for free.

Here's a sample of what I'm currently working on:

patiently waiting for them to eventually discount. I'm willing to spend a
total of 110$ or 110€ for these, plus shipping paid seperately (within europe,
hopefully for no more than 15€).

If you can offer those for that price right now, then I will buy them all immediately.

Imperium Dragon Hunter Hound
71790

Heatwave Transforming Lava Dragon
71793

Nya's Samurai X MECH

I'd pay with Paypal - either $ or €.

Thanks!

That is over 40% discount on the RRP. Holding out for a little more off often
leads to disappointment. You are probably better off buying now at slightly higher
prices than you want - you can get a new 71775 for about 75€ from some European
sellers now, plus postage. Similarly 71793 for 33€ and 71790 is already under
15€ on here. With Christmas coming and sets retiring soon after, it will be unlikely
that they will all go as low as you want from one seller.

Hi all, just wanted to put a request out there, looking for original set boxes
that sellers or collectors might have that are either taking up space, have been
laying around for some time or are otherwise just in the way. I'm UK based
so ideally looking for other UK sellers /AFOLs that might be willing to part
with what they have. Cash waiting.

Hi there,

I am having a Christmas themed party for my little nephew and looking for some
festive/Christmas promotional material (the material doesn't have to be promotional)
to decorate for the party.

I'm looking for items such as bunting, cardboard cut-outs, posters or any
other Christmas Lego items.

If anyone has any for sale, please get in contact.

I am in the UK, but would be happy to pay international postage.

Many thanks!

I want to buy a selection of brick lists from this How to Build LEGO Dinosaurs
book. In particular, the Allosaurus, Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus. Does anyone
sell these bricks as ‘sets’ in Australia? Or do I need to search for each brick
and add them to my ‘wanted list’? Here is a link to the website that provides
the brick lists. https://www.dk.com/uk/information/how-to-build-lego-dinosaurs/

Noting automaticly, but you can go to your own store (as a costumer) and check
your wanted list in your own store. So you can see what you have.
You have to remove it manualy from both your shop as your wanted list.

Good luck!
Tim
