Any possibility of a Bricklink app for the iOS or Android anytime soon?

I have been working on an Android app. I am almost done testing the apple version
as well.
It is only for sellers, mostly for picking parts and making quick adjustments
to inventory.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bscompanion

That would be fan-tastic!

It is now available on the Apple App Store:

Order information is not saved. The button is only accessible when importing
the order (so just re-import to get the info back).
As to why: orders change and it would be very confusing to have stale order info
data saved in a file.

yah, that paragraph is good at telling how to use it but not too much about the
why

As far as I can tell, you have probably been lucky enough to not get an order,
which would trigger a sync on the other platforms inventory, while you are editing
your inventory. You could potentially cause an issue where your edit gets overwritten
with inconsistent data. Or, you submit an edit with inconsistent/incorrect data
over a synced item's data.

I would start trying to use the blmaster command consistently so you don't
have to learn the hard way.

interesting. yah ill keep trying to use it but I'm worried ill forget eventually
and mess something up so just wanted to learn more

things without turning it on and then later turn it on and off to cycle it to
process any changes I made. So my question is, am I missing something important?
I dont make it a habit to add stuff unless it's on but want to know if I'm
misunderstanding and it doesn't make a big difference if you add stuff without
turning it on or what.

Why does it said not to play lighting up matches, even if in 99.999% of cases
it may not pose any problem?

In a general meaning syncing is a really difficult problem.

You don't often give the right to your computer to freely copy, edit or delete
your data or files.

Syncing is what it does.

Problems are: what is the correct reference? What if there's a change in
both? If this item isn't on A, was it because it was deleted voluntarily
on A, or because it's just missing? And plently like those, including
what happens if something supposed to be in this reference computer (when I built
the list), doesn't exist anymore when I start the sync process...

In short, dont light up matches - or learn a LOT before

good points but when using my previous syncing program it worked fine before
where you could add or change or delete anything at any given time and then whenever
you want then proceed to update everything accordingly. but as you mentioned
i should research ltos which is what I'm trying to do as i cant figure out
why it says that only that it does . it could say that for a simple reason
so that you dont forget to update your inventory or it could be for the reason
that it could break your entire inventory but that's the tricky part since
i cant figure out what exactly is the reason not to do it so hopefully someone
here knows

Hi,

Unfortunately, there’s no easy way to do that in Studio

One solution would be to use the special light-emitting colours… and maybe a
custom part (as the ‘official’ part has its colours fixed).

Also, the dedicated forum for Studio and PartDesigner is https://forum.bricklink.com/
(hover over the red Studio icon on every page, then click “Studio Forum”).

Please search the forum for your question before posting a new one (the search
box is in the very dark grey banner).
There’s indexes of known bugs and suggestions that you can browse first:

I don't think so.

You'd have to design and program the constraints / physics on the https://www.onshape.com
, or any high level CAD software for example.

Those would be a long, complicated and particularly expensive engineering task.

You need to identify if there is a light source specified in the render for the
brick. If not, you can either figure out how to insert one yourself at the appropriate
spot, or wait for the developers to add one in for you.

The renderer will only be concerned with the characteristics of the light source,
and have properly set characteristics that will render the effects of the light
passing through the transparent brick part(s), and you should program the information
in the renderer to reflect what a real one should look like.

Perhaps the rendering software handling this brick lighted already has this information
included with it. You would simply have to ensure that the lighting characteristics
for the element are set to display in whatever renderer you are using.

I tried 3D rendering software and usually there is a category specifically devoted
to light source object types. Keep looking for information as it is out there,
hopefully you will figure out it someday!

Cheers ...

  Hi 1001bricks,
could you share the .obj file you tried?

Latest Studio and Part Designer, Win 10, healthy new system 64GB RAM.

Open studio

Open PartDesigner
New, Import, Studio Part, locate or search for "hose" and pick the first
one: 75c03
leave everything as default
File, export to Studio, leave everything as default

Studio, Custom Parts
It shows the name and the file, but no picture, and it places something invisible,
you can see them on the right in the step list, but nothing on your build space

But if you do the exact procedure with a 3001 Brick 2x4, it works 100% as expected.

No change if you close and re-open studio, tried 10 times everything...

Or open it in LeoCAD or mecabricks,

The problem is “it”: the file is not in LDraw, so you need to get it from Digital-bricks.de.
IDK about Mecabricks but LeoCAD can’t create it for you if you don’t download
it first.

save as .obj, and import this is Part Designer,

If you’re going through PD, there’s no reasons to go through a .obj file: PD
can import the LDraw .dat file.

BTW, I just spent an hour on this, if you import an lDraw file containing a Hose
rigid 3mm in PartDesigner, then when you export to Studio it shows an "empty"
(void) part.

Same if directly importing a Hose rigid 3mm in PD and Export it to Studio.

The only way it works is:
* create or import the lDraw in Leocad,
* export as Wavefront (.obj),
* import in PD,
* export to Studio.

Same with Hose ribbed IIRC.

Weird bug - and yes, it's not the proper place about this
If you know why, no need to start a thread for so few

You are on the wrong forum for this question as you are referring to Studio (the
3D modelling app), not Bricklink (the marketplace). See https://forum.bricklink.com

Most likely, you simply have turned the snap option off. This happens occasionally
to the best of people At the very least, at my end tires still do snap on
wheels. Also, this is a property of each part individually, so all wheel-tire
combinations failing at once is unlikely.

The symptoms you describe all match the turned off snap option. Objects not having
connected (1) always result in the rotation tool being shown instead of the hinge
tool (2) and as for screenshots (3), hitting the [PrintScreen] button should
capture the arrows as well.

Anyway, search the Studio forum.
