  Hello, helpful folks!
I'm trying to get into the habit of using Brickstore for adding parts to
my store. One feature I'm not finding is to automatically price parts at
6mo average + a set percentage. That would save a lot of time when listing parts.

Oh misread.

You can't automatically do this, but it's a couple of clicks.

* select all lots CTRL+A
* CTRL+G and select the average you wish
* now they're at the average, if you wish a different price let's say
-10% just right click on any price (while selected) and choose Adjust price,
by default in percent - type -10 for example
* all selected are now avg -10%
* Export/Mass Upload

Really it takes seconds...

Just what I was looking for! Many thanks!

What the other guy said.

CTRL + A to select all (get used to doing this for everything!)

Up at the top - very right side - you see a $ with a block, then a $ with a plus.
The 1st one lets you set the price of all you have selected. The 2nd one lets
you adjust up or down a percentage for all select.

So

CTRL A - $ with block - set to 6 month average - enter - $ with + - adjust price
up/down (select percentage) - enter

Maybe it would work on tablets but on a smartphone it would be kind of impossible
to have it being a nice app as it is for pc. Also tablets, compared to apple
iPads are really rare so i would see it coming more for iPadOS rather than android
tbh

Ermmmmm - Studio on a smartphone?

It'd be very convenient to build seeing 1mm sized bricks, yes
Silly, sorry to say.

Note you may try something like VNC/TightVNC... with a deceptive result.

Hi,

It should be mostly unnoticeable.
Are you preventing Studio from talking to the servers to check for parts update?

Otherwise, the dedicated forum for Studio and PartDesigner is https://forum.bricklink.com/
(hover over the red Studio icon on every page, then click “Studio Forum”).

Please search the forum for your question before posting a new one (the search
box is in the very dark grey banner).

As a follow-up to my previous suggestion for the "Any Color" option in Studio/Bricklink,
I would love to see a "visibility inspection" (or "visibility analysis") button
you can press to identify all the bricks that are completely closed off from
the exterior and thus hidden from view. These "hidden" interior bricks do not
require any special colors to be picked out because no one can seem them, and
people would normally want to buy whatever color is the cheapest on Bricklink.

Currently it is possible to manually distinguish these interior elements by setting
them to one specific color (for example, bright pink so it stands out), but it
is tedious to manually designate them during build. Also, as you continue to
iterate your models, what you have previously designated as "hidden" bricks may
later become visible and vice versa, which introduces human error. With the proposed
"visibility inspection" button, you can just hit the button after the design
is finalized, select all the "hidden" bricks, and change them all to your own
"hidden bricks color" of choice, or in case my other suggestion for the "any
color" option is implemented, they can be designated as "any color," so it's
easy to find the cheapest bricks on Bricklink regardless of color.

Additionally, a user option may be provided so that the user can specify what
qualifies as a "hidden" element. Oftentimes, even when two Lego plates are butting
against each other (especially at an angle), there is a very small microscopic
gap between the two, through which another interior brick can be seen through.
These microscopic gaps are always present (even in official Lego sets) because
of the innate margin of error or give (usually like 0.1-0.2 millimeters) that
is built into all Lego elements. The "visibility inspection" button can be designed
to take these factors into account and also let the user decide how granular
you want to be when deciding what is visible and what is not.

on what color you choose, the cost of ordering bricks from Bricklink later on
can fluctuate drastically. I don't want to worry about "what is the cheapest
color for this particular brick" in the middle of designing my model every time
I'm picking out a brick that will not be visible. One thing I do right now
is just pick out a random color (some obscure color you're not going to use
anywhere else) and designate that color to all your hidden colors, so I can worry
about picking colors later, but this doesn't give me a realistic cost estimate
while I'm building a model. I want an "any color" option (essentially meaning
"I don't care what color this is as long as it's the cheapest color)
for your bricks and the cost estimate to reflect the cheapest price regardless
of color. The "any color" brick can show up as hashed or checkered in your screen

thus purchased in any color. Ideally, this feature would be implemented both

There is a separate forum for Studio, and a special subforum for parts.

Please read the Studio Parts FAQ at https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6368

If you manage to find a 3D model of the part, then it could be contributed to
the Studio parts library. Without model there is no possibility of adding the
part.

Are you talking about BrickStock?

You would need to switch to BrickStore:

Hi and welcome,

First, the dedicated forum for Studio and PartDesigner is https://forum.bricklink.com/
(hover over the red Studio icon on every page, then click “Studio Forum”).

Please search the forum for your question before posting a new one (the search

There’s indexes of known bugs and suggestions that you can browse first:
Studio: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5579
PartDesigner: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5589

Then, for your problem, it’s a known bug of the last version.  The image appears
with a white background but it’s transparent once applied.
Read more here: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7430
(It’s listed as “Transparent images are not transparent until they are applied”
in PD’s bug list.)

Hello, I'm new to Studio 2.0 and PartDesigner, and I'm trying to replicate
some of my real sets.

One of them has a Police sticker for this part:

Part No: 44661 Name: Tail Shuttle, Small
*
44661 Tail Shuttle, Small
Parts: Tail {White}
.

I loaded that part and a custom png I made replicating the sticker into PartDesigner.
However, when importing the image as a decal, it appears with a white background,
even after being exported from GIMP without it.

Maybe I need some specific options when exporting the image so PartDesigner can
detect the empty background? I searched to no avail.

Attached are both the imported png image and what I am seeing inside PartDesigner

For your problem, there’s this one about animations on Macs: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5586

So, please post on the Studio Development subforum https://forum.bricklink.com/posting.php?mode=post&f=4

Hi Phil,

I'm the developer of Brick Seller. I've been using it since 2017 to
manage my BrickLink store and more recently, to also manage my Brick Owl store.

There are currently 37 active subscription users of Brick Seller and 14 users
registered for the free 45 day trial.

There are some demo videos available on the home page which are a bit out of
date but still show the main features of Brick Seller (new updated videos will
be available soon).

I would also be willing to have a Zoom call with you so that I could demonstrate
all the features and answer any questions that you have along the way. Please
let me know if you would be interested.

Rick

Or in your settings to set the default (for the next lists, not the one already

Hallo zusammen,

3rd, and probably most annoying, i've tried every combination of wording

phonebook of completely useless and unrelated results to said search.

is there anyone out there who can suggest a minimum hardware setup i should be

about minimum.

i'm currently running an 2.9ghz Intel Core i7, 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3, with Intel

alone model manipulation.

thanks!!!!

Easy, just go to LEGO.com…

What I'm trying to do is see a fully assembled kit, rendered in 3d, to then
manually recreate inside a minecraft world. Anything I can see on lego.com is
not really an interactive 3d render, so it isn't getting me what I want.
Is bricklink able to do this?

Not that I'm aware of. Some people post fully-assembled LEGO sets in the
Studio gallery, but unfortunately, they are usually set to display-only due to
copyright infringement. Perhaps there is a better way.

I think on Eurobricks there are threads where people share files of assembled
sets.

I could be a nice addition to the Studio Gallery thought, with a verification
checkmark...

are the obj files too big caused this disorder ?

It’s a good guess.  Too many triangles, and/or too small triangles.

And it’s cumulative: one part: okay, two parts: okay, third part: it breaks…
and it may be the first or second part that looks weird, not the third.

Cheers.

The palette is the parts list in the left column.
In scene means the parts are all shown on screen.

The only way to show an assembled set is to build it yourself in Studio.
Using the parts one-by-one from “in scene” which will ensure you have used all
the parts, or from the “palette”.

Sadly there is still no easy way to report illegal behaviour on the site it takes
place, like the "Report MOC" button you can find on rebrickable.

If bricklink is not improving here, I have to set all my creations to "Display
only" so those "illegal republishers" cannot download them anymore.
This would be very sad, cause I want to share my creations with all the users
that respect the ToS and the hard work of other designers.

As for your problem, you need to find/enter the folder for Studio, by default
C:\Program Files\Studio 2.0 on Windows, or whatever you changed it to.

Hi Bricklink admins,

there is a new user "Forian20084" republishing free available MOCs in the "Vehicle"
studio gallery.
I already wrote him private messages that this is not allowed and described how
to use the unpublish feature.
Don't know what is wrong with some guys here on bricklink and why they cannot
respect the rules and the hard work of others.
Please remove his creations from the gallery, thanks.

Very sad that there is still no report button or better checks of new users.

Regards
Linse

Bricklink does not do rendering, so I assume you refer to Studio.
The Studio Forum can be found at https://forum.bricklink.com
Please search the forum for a solution before you post.
It likely has to do with either your graphics card or your render settings.

As for your problem, the “Studio app folder” is, on Windows: C:\Program Files\Studio
2.0\
I think that it’s something like Applications Studio 2.0 on MacOS but I can
certify it.

I used brickseller a bit, but it didnt quite fit my usage. I needed multiple
storage positions for each lot. Also it automatically made all remarks uppercase.
Also it was rather slow. Other than that it worked Great.

I made my own solution instead

of that list.

I am trying to determine the average amount of parts in my sets for a family
project and being able to conglomerate and play with set data is important.

I have been trying to find a way to get a set list with part quantity to excel
so I can work with the numbers.

Any and all help appreciated.

If you want a list of all the parts in all your sets, you can do this:

Make a copy of your document with the sets, then

Edit › Select All
Edit › Part out item...
Yes, into current document
Check the part out options for each, or just press Return repeatedly
Edit › Select All
Edit › Consolidate
Yes to all
Edit › Select All

And look at the document statistics in the Info dock.

Brickset gives you that option. You can add your sets to your account there and
then there is a download as CSV button

No, I don't think that is available in Brickstore.

In Bricklink you can download the entire catalog of sets - it has the name, year
released and weight but not the part count.

So I'm afraid you would need to look each one up and add to your spreadsheet
manually.

  Hello,

I'm working on a project to compute artwork with Lego bricks from a picture:

I need the closest hexadecimal color code of physical bricks to compute an artwork.
Currently I use a table extracted from https://rebrickable.com/colors/

It works but in some colors I see a significant difference between virtual artwork
and physical artwork (for instance the "Yellowish Green").

I found several sources of color code and one of them is the bricklink's
catalog colors: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp

I wonder how the color codes of this catalog have been determined. Is it close
to the physical materials of Lego bricks? I hesitate to change my reference table
to use the bricklink table.

This is the reference you should use: http://www.ryanhowerter.net/colors.php

The current BrickLink color codes are much closer to reality than the ones on
Ryan's chart.

The BrickLink ones are included, check the "Show All Fan Sites" tab

Yes, I know. But they aren't up to date.

Fair enough — and, now they are up to date

Really nice work on those by the way. I'm not sure what your method is but
they really do *feel* right, more than any other set of hexes I've seen.
(Mx Aqua Green seems much too dark though?)

Thanks,
Ryan

Want to know how I did them?

I used *your* photographs of parts from Flickr to average the colors over many
areas of the image.

By the way, I haven't done all of the colors, but I did do quite a few of
them. I think BrickLink has the best HEX values out there now for the ones that
I have updated. I plan to get to more of them, but it takes some time.

I hope to get a colorimeter and make my own RGB codes for everything. The official

None of us on the admin team have yet to see the new color in person. User axaday
has some of the new parts and said they are very close to the old Medium Brown.
We will probably make some sort of decision in the first couple of weeks of March.
Until then, the new parts are being added as Medium Brown for catalog expediency.

I didn't think to take a reference pic. I'm headed to bed right now,
but I will try to remember to take a picture of Priyanka with

tomorrow. And egad, that head needs a new picture also.

BTW, have you (admins) already started thinking about the new TLG Medium Brown
colour and how that would affect the old but recently named BL Medium Brown?

None of us on the admin team have yet to see the new color in person. User axaday
has some of the new parts and said they are very close to the old Medium Brown.
We will probably make some sort of decision in the first couple of weeks of March.
Until then, the new parts are being added as Medium Brown for catalog expediency.

I didn't think to take a reference pic. I'm headed to bed right now,
but I will try to remember to take a picture of Priyanka with

Part No: 3626bpx276 Name: Minifigure, Head Male Eyebrows, White Pupils, Goatee and Grin Pattern - Blocked Open Stud
*
3626bpx276 Minifigure, Head Male Eyebrows, White Pupils, Goatee and Grin Pattern - Blocked Open Stud
Parts: Minifigure, Head
tomorrow. And egad, that head needs a new picture also.

This is the reference you should use: http://www.ryanhowerter.net/colors.php

The current BrickLink color codes are much closer to reality than the ones on
Ryan's chart.

Oh, I didn’t notice that the patches in BL’s chart got an update too

Now one problem is that RGB values are well and good… but TLG doesn’t make its
plastics by mixing RGB (or rather CMY(K)) pellets and the colours used in instructions
(CMYK this time) aren’t that good nor realistic either.  So, one has either to
work hard to find what’s good for their purpose or be content with “good enough”
and, if the latter, about any current list is.

First, two small notes:

1. It’s Studio, no dot (the dot was removed when it went from 1.0 to 2.0 a few
years ago).

2. The official Studio forum is https://forum.bricklink.com .

Well this just gets weirder. I managed to import a Stud.io file into LDD, and
as I expected it said some pieces couldn't be shown or placed properly, so
most of the structure is present, with a few gaps. But in particular two REALY
weird things:

1. some of the gaps are ordinary run-of-the-mill pieces (like, for example, 1x4
bricks) in totoally ordinary correct placement that now refuse to be filled?

If bricks are slightly turned or moved, they can be detected by LDD (or LDD for
that matter) as colliding.  That has nothing to do with their “simpleness” but
with maths, and especially with maths on computers.

There can also be wrong conversion information in Studio for some parts.

Also note that LDD removes one part but collisions occur between at least two
parts, so it maybe one of the other parts that is “misplaced” and the “culprit”
but the “innocent” one was removed.

  2. Some Stud.io parts DO show in the model in LDD - kind of. For example, the
minifigure utensil ingot piece, or goldbrick, which I didn't know existed
until switching to Stud.io, is displayable in LDD, and even identifies the piece
at the bottom of the window if I highlight one of them.... but if I try to FIND
it in LDD's parts display on the left side, it doesn't show! I can't
find it searching for its part number or its name (neither 'ingot' nor
'goldbrick' work).

That must be because you don’t know about the Extended mode of LDD (menu View
| New themes | LDD Extended).

The “normal” mode shows a selection of bricks only and in certain colours only
(no, they are not the actual available/produced colours, or at least they have
not been for a while; of course, some are missing, but, more importantly, some
are proposed while they were never produced).

Extended shows ALL the bricks known to LDD, in a unique colour (by default red),
and you can paint any brick in any colour (with more colours than in “normal,”
and with a different UI).

Also, the last parts updates of LDD (at least the last 3, IIRC) didn’t add parts
to the “normal” mode: the new parts were only available in Extended.  They even
_removed_ parts from “normal.”

(The ingot is available in LDD in two versions: 96910, unmarked; and 99563, with
details, in the Misc category (post sign icon).  Both have been there since at
least 4.3.9 / 6 years (the beginning of my historical data).)
