You're welcome! I work for you, you know.

Minifigure inventories, by the way, can't include alternate parts. Okay,
so here is what I did:

1. Every affected minifigure in both sets now include inventory notes.
2. Both sets now include inventory notes.
3. Both sets now include the other heads as alternates. This is a new approach
which Marek and I are trying out.

This should correct all the issues you raised.

Three of the four possible variants have been confirmed to have appeared, so
the fourth variant (black eyebrows, blocked stud: 3626bpb0628) is the only one
I added without having confirmation that it appeared in the sets. I think the
likelihood that this variant would have appeared in these very popular sets at
some point in their production run was high enough to include it.

The big problem with E&D sets is that many of them have lengthy production runs,
resulting in all sorts of changes over time. It's not really practical to
create a new catalog entry for every change, so some compromises must be made
between an overstuffed catalog and an overstuffed inventory.

Give me a few minutes while I see what can be done with the inventories of these
two sets to make things better.

I have 2 Lego education sets, 9348 and 9349.
In both sets the males have head 3626bpb0628 (head with black eyebrows) instead
of 3626bpb0121 (head with brown eyebrows).
In both sets the heads are not even with different eyebrows but also with stud
recessed instead of blocked open stud with triangle.

There is a note below the 22 minifigs of set 9348 regarding the two possible
different heads, not with the set 9349.
Also only a note below the list of 22 minifigs, NOT with the individual minifigs.
Eventhough the minifigs of set 9348 have a note regarding the black instead of
brown eyebrows I think this would not be enough, it does not show on a picture
or with the minifig inventory.
So it is very rudimentary in my opinion.

Although I have the minifigs in hands I do not have the possibility anymore to
upload the right minifigs due to the use of an iPad. Bricklink needs a code below
the minifig and parts, this cannot be done with an iPad.

Bricklink cadmin can make a note below set 9349 like with set 9348 but I think
this is not the real Bricklinkway.
If customers do not read the line below the 22 minifigs they might believe they
received the wrong minifig because inventory does not show the alternate head
and because the note regarding the different heads/eyebrows do not show at the
minifigure itself.

What can be done with this isue due to the lack of a laptop/computer?

It sounds like you now have the instructions you need. I'll just point out
that the 7261-2 uses 8 more of the pins with stop bush than the 7261-1. 4 of
them are accounted for in my previous pictures.

For the remaining ones, from my previous pictures, you could see 2 additional
black pins - these also end up being pins with the stop bush (Page 45 Step 8
to Page 49 Step 17).

Then lastly, Page 55-56, Step 7 to 11 is where the remaining pins with stop bush
are used differently.

I also think that there was a difference in the colour of the 4x4265c Tan versus
Yellow.

Thank you mandr for the pictures and helping me out.
I do now have the link to the instructions I am looking for.

There are a number of places where Black pins are used instead of LBG:

a) Step 5 Page 22: 4 black plus 4 LBG INSTEAD of 8 LBG
b) Step 23 Page 30: 2 black plus 2 LBG INSTEAD of 4 LBG
c) Step 25 Page 32: 2 black plus 2 LBG INSTEAD of 4 LBG

Back to the original question, on Page 46 step 12: The way the two tan connectors
#1 connect to the assembly are different as per the pictures. One uses two black
pins, and the other uses two pins with stop bush. There is another difference
in the pictures, but
I'll look a bit further into it.

Here is the first place where the different pieces are used:

About page 17, Step 16, one set of instructions uses 10 black plus 4 LBG pins
whereas the other set of instructions uses instead 12 LBG pins and 2 black pins
with stop bush. See pictures, and I'll post pictures of the next difference
in a few minutes.

THANK YOU! if you don't mind post pictures that would be great!

Both versions of instructions are available from Brickset. Here is a list of
redesigned sets with info on where to find instructions:

I pieced together a clone turbo tank from a lot I bought. I gathered the parts
for the version 7261-1 with the Light up Mace Windu. Now I am trying to build
the set from instructions online and they all have the parts for the non-light
up version (at least from the parts list on here). The instructions even show
the light-up fig but have the parts for the non-light up one.
I am not home so I don't have access to the other parts to switch it over
and I also have the light up fig not the non-light up figure so I would like
to build it for 7261-1.

Can anyone direct me to the instructions or how to use

Part No: 2780 Name: Technic, Pin with Short Friction Ridges
*
2780 Technic, Pin with Short Friction Ridges
Parts: Technic, Pin

in place of these?

Part No: 32054 Name: Technic, Pin 3L with Friction Ridges and Stop Bush
*
32054 Technic, Pin 3L with Friction Ridges and Stop Bush
Parts: Technic, Pin

I'm confused and any help would be appreciated .

i can't seem to do anything with it.

I don't believe so, but you can check the list of items pending approval
here:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogPend.asp

There are hundreds (if not thousands) of stickered counterparts which have not
been added to the catalog.

If so how do you select those items to put in your inventory?

Those parts are called stickered counterparts. You can find some of them for
this set in the inventory. The others have not yet been added to the catalog.

To add them to your store inventory as official parts you would need to first
add them to the BrickLink catalog. Otherwise, you may sell them as custom items.

I added about half of them and still haven't gotten around to the other half.
Honestly, since you have the items there in front of you it might be better
if you added them to the catalog yourself. You have more knowledge of these
older items than I do and you can add weights, dimensions, years, etc. whereas
I cannot.

To RobErNat:

There is no compensation that I am able to offer for inventories. As for what
BrickLink offers, you already know what that is and I don't believe it will
change in the immediate future.

As for people being less proactive on submitting inventories, it's hard to
say with any degree of certainty. We're definitely doing pretty well with
this year's sets (659 sets released so far in 2018 and about 91% have been
inventoried). However, at least 236 of this year's sets (just over a third
of them) were inventoried by BL employees or volunteers.

Historically, that seems fairly normal. BrickLink staff have always supplied
a high number of inventories going back to when the site was first launched.
If you look at the credits for sets inventoried, 6 of the top 10 contributors
are (or were) BrickLink staff members.

To mfav:

I believe that you're saying the part assembly shown in your photo should
be included in the catalog? You're welcome to submit it and see what happens.
There are still no rules on what will or won't be accepted when it comes
to part assemblies.

There are still 410 sets which haven't been inventoried, including 68 sets
from this year. Send us some work!

Which includes 'items marked for deletion'
It will be hard to get those inventoried
Granted, only a few among those 410

I might be wrong, but I'm sensing people seem to be less pro active on submitting
inventories, maybe the current 'offer' ain't good enough
For instance, I notice a lot of 'Lego brand Store' kits are uninventoried,
I got a few (like 'several' from that list, but hey, they will drop
value if I start on them, any specific compensation you're able to offer?

Looks like there is plenty to do in the Catalog add or change section.

Inventory Admins manage 'inventories', not 'catalog entries',
that's for the cadmins to handle...
I know, it's confusing: 2 teams working 2 sides of the database
