| My set 41686-1 came with a part 73562 instead of the listed 41477 (same part,
different mold) in Dark Pink.
I can't find any listing where part 73562 comes in Dark Pink, so I'm
assuming this is a new colour for this part.
Photo: part 41477 on left - two part 73562 on right, one of them in Dark Pink
Please add.
Thanks!

If no one has a better image of [P=3002f1] (I don't see any "frosting" on
the current image),
|
I can definitely see the frosting in the image.
| I believe this may also just be the same as with
inside supports which are currently found only in set .
Please consider updating the part's note.
|
I would need to see the inside of solid color versions of 3002 from that time
period before considering the addition of a note.

There was a thread on this a couple of years back. Bricklink used to distinguish
between the 4 items in Bionicle sets as being marbled and the one from 7739 as
being solid Dark Bluish Gray. However, I had purchased a dozen of the supposed
DBG versions, and all were marbled at least a little bit.
So at the behest of the inventory admin I sent messages to every seller who had
the item listed. We could not locate a single item that was solid DBG. Some have
a reddish color mixed in, others don't, but all were marbled -- and as
with many marbled pieces, the marbling is not consistent.
The "pictures" on Rebrickable are just renders, not actual photographs, and I
believe Rebrickable still lists that as a separate part for set 7739 only because
Bricklink used to, and Rebrickable has not updated the entry since the change
on Bricklink.
If you have evidence of a solid non-marbled Dark Bluish Gray 53588, please provide
clear pictures from every angle, including from the underside. Otherwise, this
seems to be an error from when 7739 was originally inventoried.
|
Upon further inspection, I have found red marbling on mine which I previously
assumed to be from the latter set. It is very minimal and hard to notice if not
in direct light but it is there. I suspected them all to be marbled but perhaps
some excluded red but no, that is not the case it seems.
Mine has a 2005 date underneath and I suspect they were all manufactured then.
I suppose I was just lucky to get an especially gray one and the official set
photos of 7739 mislead me.

I am always happy to help answer questions about catalog contributions!
If you would like to add this inventory to the BrickLink catalog, all the links
you need are on the Add or Change tab.
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogAdd.asp?utm_content=subnav
Choose Add Inventory: - Set
The data from LEGO is available for this set, so you only need to use the Manual
Add function and edit the data using the form.
If you would still prefer to use the XML, the upload tool is on that same page.
It's not quite as user-friendly but still works just fine.

First Edition Print - Illustration in Water Color for LEGO® Wooden Toy Elephant,

Printed on premium paper with embossing.
25.5cm x 31.6cm (10.03" x 12.44")
Available exclusively as a VIP Reward for 650 points beginning in August 2019.
Between November 27 and November 30, 2020, the "cost" of this reward was reduced
to 325 points as part of a Black Friday / Cyber Monday promotion before returning
to the original 650 points. Beginning February 1, 2021, the "cost" of this reward
was reduced to 150 points in celebration of LEGO Patent Day.
*******************************
ADDITIONALLY
Currently it makes it look as if you're buying an actual watercolour item
from 1937
I propose a name change to:
First Edition Print - Illustration in Water Color for LEGO Wooden Toy Elephant,
Circa 1937 (2019)
|
It is in the gear / poster section, so should be fairly obvious you are getting
a poster and not a real toy of an elephant from 1937.
I'm fairly sure the naming of it here is exactly what LEGO called it. It
is no longer in my rewards centre, but "1st Edition of Wooden Duck Print, 1958"
is. It also has the same name in the brickset database, suggesting it is LEGO's
name for it.
If this one gets changed to a different name then so should others like
to make it clear you are getting a print and not a brochure in this case or an
original patent in some other cases. Although it is obvious (to me) that these
are prints based on their category.
And does it really need the full history of the VIP point costs for redemption?
No other VIP rewards have this information and someone would need to keep track
of the redemption costs (and the history of the redemption costs) of all VIP
gifts such as:
* | | 5005205 VIP Chrome Red Minifigure Key Chain with LEGO Logo Tile, Modified 3 x 2 Curved with Hole - Yellow Label Gear: Key Chain |
They don't even get a note that they were VIP gifts, just like sets don't
get a note about which stores they were sold in or whether they were given away
with newspapers or magazines. Add to that that the costs (and the history of
the costs) of regular sets is not stored either, so why do it for VIP redemptions?
|
I see the name of the item has already been changed and the note added. Catmins
- thanks for the quick turnaround!
@yorbrick
1) You have misunderstood me. I don't think anyone looking at the listing
would think that they'll be getting an actual wooden Elephant? My issue was
in the description not being clear enough and leading to think that it is an
actual watercolour artwork from circa 1937. I still do not think
the naming as it is right now is clear enough:
LegoFirst Edition Print - Illustration in Water Color for LEGO Wooden Toy Elephant,
Circa 1937
Whenever such info is available - artwork is always displayed/listed with the
year or at least a general timeline for when it was/is thought to be conceived.
That kind of info is also most often listed at the very end. That's *exactly*
what we have right now and it is just not right. No matter how you look at it

in the description - we probably would not be talking about this.
|
The items are now named exactly as they are on the prints themselves. The year
of release is superfluous information because the catalog entry already stores
the year of release.
| 2) Extended description - argument that other items do not have such info is
not an argument to not add it. Origins of the item are always interesting to
know, especially when it has something to do with art. As far as the MSRP/retail
price goes - the amount of points needed to redeem the item... also tells a story.
If the proposed description was an essay instead of a paragraph then yes, perhaps
it would be a good idea to see if it can be shortened but in this case I do not
really see a problem. Besides, the value of any random LEGO set sold at lego.com
can at least be ball-parked. While saying that 'this was available to redeem
for points' leaves you guessing about the amount of points required/relative
value at the time.

If someone takes the time to add some historical information to a catalog entry,
then I think it should be added. It does not mean that it has to be added to
everything.

First Edition Print - Illustration in Water Color for LEGO® Wooden Toy Elephant,
Circa 1937
|
|
@yorbrick
No matter how you look at it
in it's current form - the answer to the question 'Can this be misleading'
is 'yes'. This is not an opinion and it is not something debatable. What
is debatable is whether BL wants to have it this way or not. Hence my suggestion
to add an actual year of production of the print. If there was no year mentioned
in the description - we probably would not be talking about this.

| The instructions for set 4820 contain many PCCs that aren’t present on Bricklink,
but also raise another question regarding the existence of part 6510 in Trans-Purple.
Is there any evidence to suggest this part even exists? This part isn’t on sale,
nor does it have a PCC, photo, or presence on a render. It is also not present
on the instructions.
Perhaps a catalog associate can add these PCCs to the catalog. Some of the numbers
are quite difficult to make out, and perhaps they can make them out better than
I can.
