Okay, it’ll “hallucinate” stores

Apparently it just created a 999€ Cart of my wanted-list in your Shop!

Hoping you'll give me free shipping!

Of course! My GPT-driven robot is packing your New¹ toilet paper in bubble wrap
right now.

Hi, I've been playing a lot with the shipping options. Unfortunately, it's
always a matter of luck whether it works for the buyer. Is there a way to test
the options too? I have created a workaround and a private account here. This
now works for domestic shipments. But how can I test worldwide shipping? I don't
want to create a separate test account for each country. Thanks Johannes

You can just change the country of your test account

Do you mean the minimum order price (store minimum)? If so, it is under EDIT
STORE MANAGEMENT.

I also guess we're right now at the maximum it can do in term of CPU / calculation
time.
Just IMHO.

But as far as shipping the whole thing back for a full refund - isn't that
EU law? I don't see that you have a choice here.

Correct, and I accept returns. But as I offer an alternative solution, return
shipping costs would be on the account of the buyer. That's at least how
I see it. Would you agree in this situation?

If the item is damaged, the buyer should not pay for the return. Whereas if it
is change of mind, they should pay for it as long as you have made it clear in
your terms that the buyer pays for unwanted item returns.

I also wouldn't want to have to switch out arms in an old torso as a buyer
of it. If the buyer says the torso cracked when switching the arm, then you should
also then have to replace that. You could send them a replacement torso and ask
them to ship the one with the cracked arm back to you (at your expense) if you
wanted to switch the arm out yourself.

I turned off international shipping recently. For different reasons, but I did
have something similar happen during covid. Parcel took 10 weeks with no update
to Europe.

On a different site I use UPS a lot and they have a habit of marking things "delivered"
and then actually delivering it 2-3 days later. They also sometimes forget to
scan things in transit. So that is fun.

Fedex is notorious for employee theft, crushing parcels, and of course, shipping
surcharges that are insane.

Honestly I don't know how all this is going to function a decade from now.
I've already lost the world market a couple years ago, which used to be 1/3
of my sales.

and I'm already noticing that most of my buyers on other sites are from
the states surrounding mine, which means calculated shipping is getting too expensive
to anyone past Texas in my case. I've been looking more and more into local
selling options in person, which of course, has its own set of drawbacks.

Working with real ERP system like BPICS, AS400, SAP with a career in engineering
and manufacturing I've seen lots of stuff, but inventory management should
allow for multiple storage locations, multiple costs, multiple suppliers, different
qualities. However bricklink merges inventory management (supply chain) with
customer interface. So think if you could see all Amazon's warehouses, costs,
etc. But you don't , you say i want XYZ that's the difference, bricklink
doesn't support the proper inventory management tools with the customer facing
interface.

Okay, it’ll “hallucinate” stores and lots and prices and parts but it’ll be fast

In Problem Order, Gaston.La.Brick writes:
I sold and shipped an old classic Space set. The set was in good condition when
shipped. The buyer reports three problems:
1. One part is bent (hinge plate).
2. One plate 4 x 6 is broken (really: in two halfs!)
3. The one minifig in the set (classic space figure) has a cracked arm.
He asks to ship it back and get his money back.

I understand his frustration: a small'ish set with three defects is not good.
But I just didn't see the problems when shipping. Still my fault obviously,
but definitely not by intent.

I would rather suggest to send replacement parts:
1. Send a replacement part
2. Send a replacement part
3. Send a replacement arm (not the whole minifig)

Would you consider this a good solution?
If the buyer would persist in sending the set back, how would you handle it?

Thank you for your feedback.

If I was the buyer this would be enough for me but it really depends on what
they think.
