Yes, the guy's putting it back I guess?

Anyway for 1 or 2 hours I can't see ANY inventory to buy, so OP's pretty
"safe".

Been very vigilant about any change:

- Immediately closing the store when it gets re-opened
- Deleting any added inventory
- Adding hacked messages back anywhere they delete them

Doing what I can until an admin pops up

That's the name of the game.

Consider yourselft lucky, you didn't have anything serious to do today/tonight
I guess!

I'm off a bit. Good luck!

Plus I’ll be here for a couple more hours to keep you company so you won’t be
alone

Now reading this he urgently wants to quit

I appreciate all the help I can get. From moral support, to advice, to technical
help Thanks everyone for being great

Don't! Maybe Nubs is the hacker after all! Ya never know...

Idea, just set up a minimum buy of $999999, maybe the hacker won't see it,
so nobody will buy

He reads the forums since he’s deleting the messages so I don’t know if that
would help (tho he stopped deleting the message so he may have given up?) but
in case you reading this please watch this

I apologize to the forum for spamming

Don't: simply do not post new threads!

Admins are probably sleeping / AFK / Not Available as of right now.

I don't know what to do. I was Hacked. I foolishly fell for a well times
phishing email and the hacker got access to my account.

Just be patient.

The hacker has changed my email, changed my username and is trying to upload
expensive sets to my store. PLEASE HELP I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

Do NOT log off, make you a coffee pot.

Empty the inventory from time to time - it's a couple of clicks, nothing
difficult.

Stop panicking, just stay awaik and wait for tomorrow.

He must be the first one who gets tired: not you!

I really don't understand why I should stop making posts but OK. Does anyone
know how this will be fixed? What am I looking at for recovery?

When you or someone else replies to an existing thread it shows up at the top
of the list. Also if everything was in one thread it would be easier for admins
to sift through the info, now they have to sift through 100 posts of HELP ADMIN

The messages in one thread makes sense. I apologize, I was just freaking out
and they were deleting my posts so I wanted to make sure it was seen. But thanks
to Nubs and others help it's definitely visible now. Unintentionally I've
flooded the forum more than originally intended, so again sorry.

No worries this is a serious issue so as long as the convo continues it will
stay at the top so as soon as an admin is online who has the right privileges
they will see it and take action

I'm getting weird emails too. I don't have anything in my shop, and my
last order was a month ago (Which oddly was Par18!). I guess I'll just keep
checking my account to make sure nothing is messed up. I put the shop as closed
since I didn't know I could do that.

Hacker might be harvesting information from previous orders and sales.

That would make sense. I already also disconnected my paypal, and checked that
to make sure there weren't unknown transactions. That was the only money
thing connected.

It's 01:04 EDT - you'll have to wait AT LEAST until say 9:00 am EDT or
such.

Wait for some move in your shop like closed by an Admin "Preventive Action"
or such.
Or a post in forum.

Make a coffee, delete from time to time, just stay there.

I’ve seen stores suspended for preventative measures, so if there’s enough to
get admins attention they can suspend your store
One thread of your message and everyones replies should help them get up to speed
much quicker on what the problem is

I apologize to the forum for spamming, I am just trying to get an admins attention
and protect my livelihood.

ADMIN,

NEW INFO 2: I believe this was done so that I cannot send the request to change
emails as it now says there is already an account with that email.

NEW INFO 1: I got 2 more weird emails. One was confirmation for signing up
to BrickLink under the username par16 asking for email confirmation. another
was a login from a new device. I did not click either.

Unfortunately spamming the forum isn’t going to help get their attention quicker
I know it’s frustrating, but please try not to keep flooding the forum by starting
new threads every few minutes.
There’s a fair few people replying who will help keep your thread at the top

By "raw wood" you mean non-treated opened grain wood? And by "non-permanently
attach" the reasonable ability to remove at some point?

Hot glue gun - In which adhesion is applied and withdrawn with temperature.

Yes and yes. Thanks for the input

Your'e welcome. And pics whenever you're finished, would be nice

Well it certainly makes my collection look small but some much more protected

Hello folks! Hope you are doing well)
I've looked at ~50 stores and I didn't see any social media links on
the Terms&Conditions page (except for YouTube). I guess most of you have some.

I would like to get some inspiration for my builds, as well as to learn more
about selling/buying on Bricklink.

It would be nice if you can share some Instagram/TikTok/YouTube blogs. Thanks!

Always liked minfigs of the Paradisa line within Town.

Have you gone through and set-up your Featured Lots Page the way you prefer?

I just noticed it was added to the catalog on February 20th, so I guess that's
at least part of it. But my curiosity still stands, as there were a lot of other
minifigs added around that time: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=2&sortBy=D&sortAsc=D&catType=M

So why was this Paradisa one (or any other featured one, for that matter) chosen?
Does BL randomly pick a handful out of the newly added items?

Just got added to another Stop and Ignored list by a member within this thread:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1459625

I'm regrettably unable to tell this sensitive individual the pleasure I get
out of such expressed pettiness nowadays. Oh well, maybe they'll read this
and all will be well with the little darling Though no need to stop-list. Never
have, nor believe I ever will buy from your store. And as to ignore; well you
most certainly will miss-out on some fun if not interesting times.

That said, whereas in the past I've argued against the "Ignore" feature
on BL, I've come to appreciate it more over the years. I've never used
it myself, but having certain others use it makes for let's say, less
peskiness

You be you, is what I promote today

Hello!
Two questions on how to download inventory from BrickLink:

a) For a full download of all parts in the BrickLink catalog, I would like to
include the size dimensions (cm). There is a checkbox option to "Include
Dimensions", but this downloads the information in stud size, not in cm.
Is there an option to include the cm size dimensions with my download?

b) For a download of my own store inventory, I see that it pulls in the Remarks
column. However, it does not include the Comments field. Is there an option to
include the Comments field as a column with my download?

Thank you,
Dennis

Yep, went to check my store settings and it was on.

You can turn it off if you wish.

I actually have to turn it off as both my wife and i are on separate devices
using the same account which leads to constant pin generations.

doesn't it last 30 days? i have 3 devices i use for bricklink so just once
every 30 days i enter in the pin and have no issues.

Huh, maybe it would work. I didn't have the patience to find out.

Yep, went to check my store settings and it was on.

You can turn it off if you wish.

I've never had one. What details are they asking for?

If you are not trying to log in and get a message about logging in then either
someone is trying to access your account and cannot, or they are spoofs to get
you to give away login details.

I just generated one. Were you trying to change anything in your store?

It happened to me this morning; and to yorbrick's point, I was adding inventory
to my perpetually closed store at the time. The PIN request was quite the surprise,
but not especially annoying. Hackers vs the civilized. Like most things BrickLink,
in time we'll not give it a moment's thought.

I agree 100%, it doesn't seem like there's a true roadmap or "vision"
for Bricklink, which is terrible for everyone - not to mention that they could
literally sift through the "Suggestions" category & make a list of the
ones with the most votes, then see if they make sense to add to the site

The last time a suggestion was "implemented" was April 2022

Talk about asking people to vote then burning the ballots and doing some other
thing.

I have a feeling BL is run by corporate IT. In general, IT doesn’t make good
management (also management doesn’t make good IT). However, when corporate IT
runs the company they tend to make a small box within which to operate the company.
On the other hand, the right management will bring vision to a company and drive
the IT department out of their box. In my opinion, BL has been focused on small
boxes in which to operate for a long time, which leads to my suspicious feeling.
Where there is no vision, the people perish!

Sure, we can just throw BL away. That's the easy way out. This is a throw-away
society, I guess. But wouldn't it be better to fight for this community that
we're all apart of. Wouldn't it be great to discuss the things that suck
about BL and make a case that they need to be fixed? That's all this thread
is about. Not, whether it's possible to enable capcha or not. It's about
the right for people to speak their minds and be heard instead of shut down by
those who just apologize for BL all day long. Why do we need to apologize for
the BL dev team? Why can't we instead insist that maybe they need a larger
dev team with bigger goals!

Your interpretation of Spaghetti Code is off base. Spaghetti Code can be edited/updated
but it takes much longer than clean, well-documented code.

My reference to Spaghetti Code and the size of the code base was to try and give
some sense of the challenge the current developers face when fixing problems.

There is another factor beyond the condition of the code base that will affect
how long it will take to fix issues. The site was built on top of 20+ year old
technology using a language that has fallen out of favor. From what I have seen
by peeking under the hood with some browser-based testing tools the past few
months, there is a lot of work taking place to update the site using modern languages
and clean-up the spaghetti code.

Thinking Captcha is easily implemented would be like thinking Notre Dame can
be rebuilt in a few months. You have to peel back many layers of changes to
understand if a fix is going to undermine the structure in other places.

I and others are not being apologists or shills for Bricklink; we're realists
understanding true change will take time and will require some patience.

This happened with a 21016 Sungnyemun set (still for sale in my store). My understanding
is that some parts were manufactured in different countries during this time.
Some of the plates are completely discolored (not partial as you would expect
from sun damage). Also, some interior parts which would not have had any exposure
to the sun are discolored. It is also limited to specific parts like 1x3 plates.

Nothing you can really do except note the differences in the listing.

I’ve had parts that only come in LBG that I would swear were Light grey, they
can fade / discolour to a similar shade.

Hey Y'all -

I'm considering hanging up the bricks. This old Gorilla is getting tired
and losing a bit of motivation. Hiring sorting monkeys is possible, but not
really a good option for my store size. I have a small store here in coastal
NC about 30 minutes north of Myrtle Beach, SC. At this point, I have NOT liquidated
anything, so my full inventory is available and hasn't been cherrypicked.

I have approximately 111k parts in roughly 10k lots with a BL 6 Mos avg of
around $9.5K. I would like to nab a 40% sale price. Also available at a bargain
would be about 30 TuffStore cabinets with hundreds of drawer dividers, at least
a 100 lbs give or take of unsorted lego, and maybe another 150 pieces or so of
unlisted minifigs. Inventory quality is a mix of new and used with the used
being very good and the drawers very accurate, as is confirmed by my 100% feedback
score after 2 1/2 years of selling and 1600+ orders.
I'm not opposed to shipping, but it would be expensive for you. I would
much prefer for you to come on down to my neck of the jungle and bring a big
van, or a small trailer. I can shrink wrap the cabinets with inventory inside,
but because I am keeping about 20 or so cabinets, some of the inventory would
need to be bagged. Pictures and/or a Brickstore file is available on request.
Shoot me your thoughts, questions, or comments.

Gorilla

Or at least some Boston Pizza servers!

After all, pizza is the solution to everything, right? Maybe add a little mustard
if that will help - dijon ketchups too.

Pizza would help but the mustard would make it worse!

Pizza and mustard are a combo code that will end with bugs crawling through it.

Well a good set would be 8293-1 it brings all power functions stuff to make things
motorized but it is a bit pricey. I think the best option is to buy each part
separated as it may be cheaper.

Thanks a ton! I found a couple on there that definitely helped me and I still
have a bunch of pages to go through! I was having issues finding old/sold posts
on ebay and this site seems to have them! I never thought to use worthpoint because
it always asked me to join to see prices of anything… may have to join! Thanks
again!

Thanks for any info.

Or at least some Boston Pizza servers!

After all, pizza is the solution to everything, right? Maybe add a little mustard
if that will help - dijon ketchups too.

Pizza would help but the mustard would make it worse!

Heres a simple answer, you can't post a link if you have no feedback.

No feedback, no links. People asking for help don't need to post links to
get help.

Can't, can't, can't. Two words that means no hard work will ever
be done: spaghetti code

(and all the IT guys now nod their heads and say, yup, yup yup)

First of all, you are an awesome grandpa! Last time I was using motors I used
the "Power Functions" system. There are a ton of youtube videos and some
amazing books. I'm a huge fan of Japanese LEGO designer Yoshihito Isogawa.
He has a bunch of books teaching you how to make different mechanical systems,
drive trains, gear set ups. Its amazing what you can do with LEGO.

Here is one of his books: https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Power-Functions-Idea-Book/dp/1593276885

Well this stinks. That's the site I use. Extremely helpful. I know there
is another similar one. I don't know the name but I'm sure somebody reading
the forum does.

BrickStore?

I vote they do it properly. In my experience, corporate IT guys create their
own limitations because they speak tech and their bosses don't. Just get
