Freedom lol, its just about thread spoiling and forum ethics. People ask a serious
question and they get a day long off topic nonsense conversation from 3-4 posters
hijacking the thread.

Some would contend, proper etiquette or forum ethics starts with a scene from
Bambi, known as the Thumber Rule.

  Hello all,

First post here, I was helping my nephew put together a titanic brick set and
got an idea. My father served on USS Independence CV-62, and I tried searching
for a brick set of this ship. I am unable to find anything. Does anyone know
of one or be willing to design it. I would design it myself just need help with
what I need to do.

Thanks,

Brad

I've seen a number of post-WWII US Aircraft Carrier MOCs on some of the popular
MOC sites. You might have more luck searching for a MOC for one of its sister
ships (Forrestal class) since the USS Independence has recently been reborn as
a Littoral Combat Ship CVL-22.

Over the past few days I've stumbled across late in the day Forum posts with
a bunch of links off site to CBD products and other inappropriate content. Obviously
timed late enough in the day to try and get them ignored until the next morning.

When I see them, I file a Problem Forum Message Report in the Problem Center.
https://www.bricklink.com/problemMessage.asp

Within minutes the messages are taken down.

I'm sure others are also finding and filing similar reports.

Thank you Admins for working hard and reacting quickly to keep the Forums from
becoming a spam dumping ground.

You have a thankless job. Not sure everyone realizes the 24 x 7 effort all of
you share to manage the site and forums.

The count is skewed: Randyf and Axaday (to cite only two) are mainly posting
in the Catalog section and many of their posts are kept indefinitely.

Also, the Studio forum isn’t accounted for!

(Not even mentioning the quality of the messages’ contents… oops, I just did
)

Does that mean 4 out of every 100 posts are about Pizza?

I'll bet if Nubs pushed himself, it could be 5 out of 100.

Currently Im using scrap paper; if a part is multiple but incomplete, I draw
the piece, maybe make a color note, and do hash marks until I have the entire
quantity and THEN can do the checkbox on my computer.

I want to get rid of the paper part since I'm already so close to a great
system with the provided databases and the "[with temporary checkboxes]"
page, but to be able to this all digital would make the page much more functional.

I wouldn't mind suggestions for inventory software or just general tips for
cataloguing sets (mostly dug from lots) either.

thanks,
Pete

Have you tried using BrickStore?

1. Open a New File
2. Import the Set
3. Right Click on the Set and 'Part out Item...'
4. Use the Marker, Comment, & Remarks fields to track QtyOnHand, QtyNeeded, SpareParts

(I like having the text instead of relying on the Blue + in the Status)

Note: you can sort multiple columns by holding down the Shift key and selecting
the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. column.

Below is a picture of how it looks for Set 75256 that I was auditing this morning.

I've thought about digging into the code for BrickStore to see if I can add
Audit Fields.
- QtyOnHand and QtyNeeded where QtyNeeded is Quantity - QtyOnHand.

Forgot to indicate, there is a lot you can do with the BSX file, as examples:

- Can be opened in Excel, you don't get the pictures and have extra fields.
- Strip out all the 'completed' parts and move the QtyNeeded value to
Quantity and you have a file that can be uploaded into a wanted list.

  Hello,
I took some time to develop an app to make picking orders easier. The first obvious
advantage is that the order workflow is designed for smartphones (Android only).
The app includes the familiar filtering options found on Bricklink and, at the
end of an order, offers automation features such as automatic feedback, sending
the Drive Thru, changing the order status, and archiving an order.

The app is completely free and open source!

You can download it here:
https://mybrickhub.com/

Additionally, the app is currently in alpha testing on the Play Store:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.mybrickhub.brickpicker

Feel free to test the app and let me know if you have any suggestions for improvements
or errors

Tom

Will the app run in the Visual Studio Android emulator?

Death Star UCS, Mountain Cave, BDP sets....

This is ringing all the alarm bells for me.

We all have to be vigilante and watch for suspicious activity to prevent a repeat

doesn't look right.

Perhaps the better way to have handled this is to report suspicious activity
to the admin team via the Problem Center so they can evaluate whether there is
an issue.

Based on your definition of fishy I might have to be careful when I open my store
in a few months. (Waiting for our house remodel to be completed.)

Someone might think a new store with 200 sets, 100k parts, and 500 Instructions

My ColorMunki Design colorimeter gave me #E04912 — better than a photo, taking
ambient lighting and post-processing out of the equation

Then it might be Syracuse Red Orange (#E0430F) or Flame (#E25822)

------------ Red ----- Green ---- Blue
#E04912: 87.84% - 28.63% - 07.06%
#E0430F: 87.84% - 26.27% - 05.88%
#E25822: 88.60% - 34.50% - 13.30%

In Feedback, tknorr writes:
I'm curious how many sells out there leave feedback before the buyer does?
My current practice as a seller has been to leave feedback upon payment. Before
I even ship the package. However, in a recent post i was reading about feedback,
it seems like some sellers wait until the buyer leaves feedback before leaving
feedback. As a seller, what is your timeline for posting feedback?

This is like opening a can of worms . . . different perspectives from buyers
and sellers.

Many sellers waiting to post feedback until after the buyer's posts feedback
are almost expecting negative feedback and want to opportunity to have the last
word.

I recently had an interaction with a seller that is crying for a negative review.
I know he is waiting for me to post my feedback so he can use his to say how
bad a buyer I am.

You can't read his terms of service and blames the poor tools on Bricklink
for his inability to format them properly. Gosh, 99% of the sellers don't
have problems formatting their terms of service. If someone calls him out for
a mistake, it is never his fault and flames the buyer for being aggressive, unreasonable,
etc.

Life is too short to play his game.

I appreciate sellers who don't focus on their feedback. They do the best
they can to keep their customers happy and recognize not everyone will be 100%
satisfied nor will everyone provide feedback. As a seller did their best.

My dad built a multi-million dollar business from scratch. I learned from him:
- Treat your customers right and they will return the favor.
- Some customers will never be happy. Don't dwell on them, it takes your
focus off your other customers.
- Life is not always fair and there's nothing you can do to fix it.

I also found a french fry scoop comes in handy when sorting bricks and plates.

Snow . . . obviously you aren't in Alaska.

Saw a report earlier today, 100+ inches expected in the next 36 hours.

  Hello everyone,

We are implementing a change of policy in regard to Sales posts in the Forum.
As the number of sellers has grown and as our site becomes more and more of a
premium marketplace, there is more incentive to advertise in the Forum and this
has led to an overabundance of posts under the Sales topic.

What about a limit on the number of Pizza posts per month?

My version, using a furniture dolly from Harbor Freight. Holds 12 storage cabinets.
The whole unit spins pretty well and takes up little space when pushed in the
corner.

I like it . . .

Using them this way has a couple advantages:
- Spin them fast enough and you can open all the drawers at once
- You get really good at sorting parts after the grandchildren leave

"Look Anna, if I spin it like this and hold out my hand, I can knock out
lots of drawers."
