I received this sword and it is clearly Pearl Dark Gray in color, have been looking
for one in Dark Bluish Gray. I can't find any sets on the website that include
this sword in Pearl Dark Gray, so where did it come from?

Hi

I recently sold a silver chrome 3001 which the buyer is not happy with saying
its an anniversary edition. Does anyone know of any specific variants?
I naively thought a silver chrome 3001 was a silver chrome 3001.
Cheers

Hi,
I'm going through some old Lego Star Wars Lego sets.
At the moment I'm looking at 10188 Death Star.
I didn't even open all the boxes on this set and all parts or original.
See the 2 x images below:
The image on the left is slightly less 'blueish' then the one on the
right.
Flipped over (the less blueish one is now on the right), the underside is a lot
more glossy where as the (IMO) true light blueish grey is a more matt finish
on the underside.
There are about 8 of each in this set and all of the left have one shade, all
of the other have the slightly different shade.
I think I'm seeing this in other Star Wars sets from around the same too
where the greys are ever so slightly different.
Why is this? Have I somehow mixed pieces up - which would be difficult seeing
as I don't have those lager grey pieces anywhere else?
Appreciate some advice!

Hi!

I collect all kinds of bricks and parts, and the goal of my collection is to
have 1 of every colour of every type of brick/part/element. So for example, 1
of every colour of part 3021. But the problem I keep coming across is that when
I go on a catalog page for a part, often there are many more colour variants
for sale than there are colours that are known. For example, going back to part
3021, I know for a fact that there is a pearl light grey colour variant because
I own one, and yet it is not listed as a known colour. Other people are also
selling part 3021 in pearl light grey so I don't know why it isn't a
known colour.

Can someone please explain to me why there is very frequently a difference between
the colours for sale and the known colours? I appreciate that occasionally a
seller might misidentify a colour (e.g. sell it as Medium Nougat when it is actually
Nougat), and that even less occasionally there might be some fakes entering circulation
on the market, but surely this doesn't account for the many catalog items
lacking known colours when they are for sale? It is making it very difficult
as a collector to know if I should purchase colours that are for sale but are
not "known" in case they are not genuine or are mislabelled.

All opinions appreciated.

Many thanks,
Lucas

Hello! I was wondering if the same colour shades for bricks get changed over
the years. For example, would a black or dark bluish grey brick today be the
exact same shade the same brick had 20 years ago or more? I know there are different
types of shades for colours like blue or grey, but a brick listed as being dark
bluish grey today and one listed as being dark bluish grey in the 90s or 2000s
are the exact same brick, right?

The red variant of https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=2546p02#T=S&C=6&O={%22color%22:%226%22,%22iconly%22:0}
does not exist. It is not part of a set and has no images. Its existence is just
a result of people disagreeing whether the green or the red part of the parrot
is the base color. Therefore, the red version should be removed from the catalog.

Earlier today someone ordered a pair of violet hips and legs. Without paying
much attention, I reached into the appropriate drawer and pulled one out. In
the picture, the hips & legs on the right are correct violet. The hips on the
left are violet, but the legs are some weird color that looks approximately like
slate gray. As these are the spring loaded hips & legs, they all came out of
the 2003 NBA collectors sets, which means they are all now ~20 years old.

Is this Transparent Neon Orange? This color was retired(?) at the end of 2021,
but the official renders for this part sure look like they use this color. Rebrickable
has the following note: “Bricklink and Brickowl inventory this as Trans-Orange
even though the part is Trans-Neon Orange.”

Two of these renders come directly from LEGO. This part is probably 47 marbled
with Transparent Brown. Most parts in this color appear slightly redder than
Transparent Orange parts in LEGO renders. The second render is an outline render.
That orange color is too red to be Transparent Orange.

The other photo is from a BrickOwl user. The part definitely looks like 47 here.

This part is included in the newest Harry Potter Gringotts Wizarding Bank set,
which would make this color current again.

I have a 30051 instruction booklet with a blue background like set 30052 instead
of the red and white version shown in the stock photo.
Is it an error? Or a rare version of the set like a "blue box" version?

Does anyone have experience dealing with old Dark Red from 2001-2008? Is it brittle?
I’ve only had four modern Dark Red parts break, but I don’t own enough old Dark
Red to know if that color is as brittle.

My apologies in advance if this is the incorrect board for this topic:

I just acquired this

Part No: 41413 Name: Bionicle Mask Vahi
*
41413 Bionicle Mask Vahi
Parts: BIONICLE, Kanohi Mask {Orange}

And wanted to add it in my collection. However, it seems I can only add it in
flat gold. I'm wondering why orange, the first color it was released in,
isn't an option.

Hallo everybody,
can someone tell me if both Grievous capes are original or one is fake? Maybe
someone still has the originals in stock or knows, as with some other things,
that there were different productions. The right one also feels more like plastic
on the print side and not like a classic 522.
Thanks and best regards, Michael

I have

Part No: 87803pb01 Name: Hero Factory Weapon, Energized Harpoon with Molded Lime Boomerang Pattern
*
87803pb01 Hero Factory Weapon, Energized Harpoon with Molded Lime Boomerang Pattern

Part No: 87803pb01 Name: Hero Factory Weapon, Energized Harpoon with Molded Lime Boomerang Pattern
*
87803pb01 Hero Factory Weapon, Energized Harpoon with Molded Lime Boomerang Pattern

I have other parts in these two colors and, to be honest, I can not tell which
color the harpoon is.

How do I determine which color this part is? I am leaning towards PLG since the
only set that is on BL shows it in that color. Thanks for any insight.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Hi

Pearl Light Gold is the perfect color I'd like for some tiles. Unfortunately
it doesn't exist anymore.
I found brick yellow, which is pretty good. Maybe a bit light though.

Is there anything better?

Thanks

Hi all,

Two questions stemming from an error in Studio concerning these parts:

Part No: 3846px2 Name: Minifigure, Shield Triangular with Red and Peach Quarters Pattern, Style 1
*
3846px2 Minifigure, Shield Triangular with Red and Peach Quarters Pattern, Style 1
Parts: Minifigure, Shield

Part No: 3846px21 Name: Minifigure, Shield Triangular with Red and Peach Quarters Pattern, Style 2
*
3846px21 Minifigure, Shield Triangular with Red and Peach Quarters Pattern, Style 2
Parts: Minifigure, Shield

Part No: 3846px3 Name: Minifigure, Shield Triangular with Red/Maroon Quarters Pattern
*
3846px3 Minifigure, Shield Triangular with Red/Maroon Quarters Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Shield

1. Are px2 and px21 using the same “Peach” colour?  px2 seems more Yellow / Bright
Light Orange than Nougat.

2. Shouldn’t “Maroon” be “Dark Red” and “Peach” be “Nougat” (as used by LDraw)?
(IOW, shouldn’t descriptions use “real” colours?)

Hey all,
a quick question, my apologies if it was answered already: I noticed the amount
of speckle in my

Part No: x1533 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Viking with Side Holes

on, is it possible that it was rubbed off? Or is it in the plastic and just bad
luck if it looks basically black?
Thanks,

Does anyone own any early copies of sets from the Kingdoms subtheme? I’m putting
some of mine back together and I can’t tell whether most of my helmets and swords
are new or old PDG. Does anyone have any helpful comparison photos? I’ve only
been able to confirm some horse armor pieces, but this color displays a ton of
variation, so they don’t match other parts very well.

Is the left spear the older color? It’s slightly greener.

Hi,

I just wanted to discuss this a bit. As a lot of us know, the Piraka and all
the other 2006 Bionicle figures were given "Pearl Light Gray" armor.
It was the new colour at the time. But, according to Bricklink's inventory,
The Toa Nuva armor (as well the Toa Metru weapons) are "Pearl Light Grey!"

Pearl Light Grey was undoubtably the 2006 armor colour, so why is this appearing
in the earlier years? And what makes this infuriating is seeing the hundreds
of "Pearl Light Gray" Nuva pieces being sold by unsuspecting sellers,
especially if you're after a particular variant -- it makes hunting it
a pain and a gamble.

Can this change?

Hi,

I noticed such a nuance with the details of the 3070b. The details of the 3070b
Trans-Clear were taken out by me from the set 42099 (it was a long time ago).
They are a little cloudy and glow under ultraviolet light. 35403 glows 30039
simple.
On BL there is only a Trans-Clear color. Has anyone come across such details?

Alexei

Over the years I have seen what I would call a lighter ( inferior, dull colour
version ) of Trans-Light Blue.

Is this just like what we experience with Pearl Gold and is normal or maybe
a pretty good fake. I am only seeing this with small parts like
Part ID: 22388 , 3023. I am still seeing the Lego logo on 3023.

Appreciate your time in advance.

Recently Lego released new color trans black, and old trans black changed to
trans brown, but brown is not the correct color, why not trans dark grey? It's
a lighter version of black, and "light black" is "grey", isn't
not?

Which color does everyone think is more unpopular right now Lime or Orange? Or
is there another color that is not popular either, maybe Red?

Are these hats printed on top of the hair, or dual molded? I'm guessing dual
molded but I don't have one in hand.

I'd like to make my part out process faster. Is there a way to see the total
lot counts of each color in a given set? That way I'd know which colors will
take the most space and time during the sorting process.

Has anyone noticed a color variation for the part 970c120pb01? The part is used
for Eomer and King Theoden's legs in The Lord of the Rings sets.
I purchased four parts recently, and three of them have a light brown belt and
dark red fabric flowing from it. The picture on Bricklink shows exactly this.
However, the fourth one I purchased has a brighter red fabric and the belt is
the same red color.
I know that printed colors can vary a decent bit, but was surprised that the
belt is actually a different color. Just curious if anyone else has noticed
this or had anything to weigh in on.
In the images attached, the redder one is on the right.

LEGO has been adding more unique colors in recent years, something I’m sure many
of us welcome. After all, who doesn’t like more shades of red and yellow?

Whether it be something as exotic as Sand Red, as basic as Blue, or fun like
Transparent Orange with Glitter, feel free to share your opinion!

Personally, you can never go wrong with Sky Blue.

Part 54821pb05 Bright Green Bionicle Zamor Sphere (Ball) with Marbled Trans-Bright
Green Pattern

This part (Known Colors) lists only Trans-Bright Green. But in another column
it lists Dark Azure.
I have a quantity of 3 of the above mentioned part in Dark Azure. They are identical
to the picture of the Trans-Bright Green. There is a hole at the top, it's
hard to see on this picture. I do not have a Trans-Bright Green in hand to compare.

Can anyone tell me if Dark Azure does exist?

Does anyone have a spare 1x2 plate in Sky Blue?
This part rarely pops up for sale and it's almost always Medium Azure instead
of Sky Blue, It came as an alternate part in 5961 Snow Queen, so it's rather
uncommon.

I've asked all the 5961 sellers already and have been keeping my eye on the
part for a year now with no luck, so if anyone has this part, or the set in the
Sky Blue varient, please let me know!

Which puts BrickLink in a situation, since we already call 111 Transparent Brown
"Trans-Black" here It's Medium Brown all over again.

I’m going through some of my personal stuff from the 80’s and 90’s and am having
a hard time telling the color of this baseplate on the left. For reference the
one on the right is light blue grey. Is this light grey or yellowed LBG? Color
is very consistent on front and back and side to side.

I’m assuming the parts pictured are Pearl gold and Reddish gold (I’ve never heard
of the latter until today)
The picture makes the difference more visible than when I’m looking at the parts
Part number is 50616
Going through my much hated and avoided box of bionicle and other stuff, beginning
to wish I’d ignored it for another 15 years!
Thanx for any help

Hello! I have gotten a large bag of all dark red Lego pieces, and I can see at
Least 2 different shades. Does bricklink have these two shades documented? Thanks

I have just added lots of 'Pearl Light Grey' parts that are only in sets
as 'PLG' (eg.44031) they look more silver to me than part 57556 which
is lighter and looks more 'pearly' also only in 11 sets as 'PLG'
so which is 'PLG' and which is 'Flat Silver' as both parts are
only available as 'PLG'

Hello,
I'm adding my collection to bricklink and I stumble in full speed into a
wall.
I have 2 little pretty bright pink flowers 93080g. When looking in the bricklink
archive itself you get the nice bright pink flowers in the first picture you
see.
But when I try to add them to my collection I can only choose between Dark Purple
or Medium Azure. As if the 2 little bright pink flowers I have in my hand don't
exist. But I see the picture in bright pink here on bricklink.
And what is more weird is that, when I type 93080g into my "add to collection",
I get that picture that is here on the bricklink archive. But when I need to
choose a color I can't choose bright pink, or any pink at all. I tried leaving
the color as is (as in not choosing any colour) but that won't be accepted.
I'm being forced to choose a wrong color.
I invite everybody to try it. You will get the same results, I tried often enough.
Any ideas how to solve this?

M0n3aantj3s

Hey all! I have a question that irks me from time to time. I know I can click
the "hide unavailable parts", but when I have the perfect fitting part
and need to find a color that is available, it takes forever. Right now, when
I have a part that fits, I have to go from color to color to color to color.......
I would love to see "here are the colors available in the part" instead
of "here are the parts that are available in the color". Hope this makes
sense

many cheers and much love brickies,
Holly
