This (at least this instance) refers to the inventory for set 41453-1.

I see an extra item for p/n 85861 in white, with no corresponding base part entry.

Is this in reality an optional part, or is this an additional part for something
that is in a sub-inventory (e.g. a minifig) ?

Enquiring minds, etc.

I've noticed a lot of light gray pieces appear dark gray in color as well
as dark gray pieces appearing light gray. I've been making several mistakes
inventorying sets because I am glancing at the photo and may forget to fully
read the description. When doing so many sets at once it can be easy to overlook
occasionally.

Attached is two examples.
One of set 5958 - Mummy's Tomb when sorting by Item Name. The dark gray slope
looks very light gray.
Also in 5988, two of the light gray parts could easily be mistaken as dark gray.

However, there are many cases of other parts specifically with dark vs light
gray.

It would be awesome to adjust these as I am sure I am not the only one who's
made this mistake. Could we fix these default images to be more representative
of their actual color?

Thanks!

As far as I can see the only way to look up the catalogue entry for a store product
is to click the image then the catalogue reference - it is not at all obvious,
I even forget from time to time.

Checking the various combinations of 30179, I’m not seeing the combo entry for
yellow door frame and trans-lt-blue glass. Does this exist and it is not connected
to 30179 in black ?

For reference, I’m parting out several copies of 6434-1 and all of them had the
same frame/door combo. The yellow door appears to be x39c01.

Hello everyone,

As of today, we have promoted BrickLink member Turez (Jonas) from Catalog Associate
to Catalog Administrator. In practical terms, this means he will now have full
privileges on both sides of the catalog, governing both the entries themselves
and the inventory system which connects them:

https://www.bricklink.com/v3/member/community_experts.page

Jonas has done excellent work during this past year in his catalog-side-only
position, quickly masterning all the various functions in what has often been
called a "minefield" environment.

Of particular interest to him is the process of getting all the set entries added
to the database at the correct time (and with the correct details of course),
which involves staging them as pending items and doing research as to when each
set will be released:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?itemPend=Y&catType=S

The scheduled release date is usually added to the item name on a pending entry.
As you can see, we are on the verge of a huge upload of new sets. June 1 is typcially
the single busiest release date besides January 1.

We are very pleased to have such great talent on our team. So join me in welcoming
Jonas to this new position!

I made 9 additons for the Lego Friends set 41426. All counterparts with uploaded
images, because of stickers.
(e.g. 22886pb26)
They are now pending for 2 weeks, so I can't add them to the set inventory.
As these are my first entries, I was wondering if I missed a step for the approval
to go forward. Or there is simply nobody around with the same set for the approval?

Thanks

Hi. I just received a whole bunch of older 1970s sets and was sorting thru the
parts and for set 410-1 there was a 3003px3 instead of 3003pb008. Thought it
would be interesting to have an alternate for set 410-1.

Thank you

PCC 4528776 (part 53989) is set as "Light Bluish Gray". However, LEGO's
database has it as Dark Stone Grey (Dark Bluish Gray). Is this an error? Or is
there some contradictory listing in an instruction manual?

When adding the inventory for the minifigure that is included on this yet-to-be-released
set, remember these details about the differences in the minifigures. This minifigure
(as far as I can tell) is a completely new Minifig with almost all new prints.
(Right minifigure is the unreleased one)

Are there variations on part 2447? Minifigure visor. I have a customer complaining
that I sent an old version with a set he bought, not the new version. As far
as I know there is only one version.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Here’s the pic he sent.

How do you make a wheel and tire assembly part so it can be submitted to the
catalog. I want to be able to do this as so many Technic sets don't have
these done. I want to be able to put the back wheels with tire(3 parts) for the
42155 Batcycle and several others in the catalog. Any help would be great as
I have a few sets I can work on now.

I just purchased some minifigs because I like the Muscles look of the torso,
which are visible thru the shirt but not specifically visible as bare skin
or flesh or hair, etc. The muscles are the main reason I like this piece.

However, the description lacks any mention of "muscles" or "muscles
outline" like other torsos have in their descriptions. So, it was not searchable
using "muscles." It took me a long time to find this fig/torso using
other methods.

Bare flesh does not appear to be a solid rule or requirement when using the term
"muscles" to describe several other torsos, for example those for Batman
or Robin. And sometimes the words "muscles outline" is used and sometimes
just "muscles"

So, I am just wondering if "muscles outline" should be added to this
item description:

Part No: 973pb4148c01 Name: Torso Shirt with Muscles Outline, Torn Collar, Yellow Neck, and Red Diamond with Ninjago Logogram 'VS' Pattern / Yellow Arms / Red Hands
*
973pb4148c01 (Inv) Torso Shirt with Muscles Outline, Torn Collar, Yellow Neck, and Red Diamond with Ninjago Logogram 'VS' Pattern / Yellow Arms / Red Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor. {White}

Hello everybody,

Based on more than a year of excellent work, we have just promoted BrickLink
member TakeAbricK (Diana) to the Catalog Associate position:

https://www.bricklink.com/v3/member/community_experts.page

The Catalog Associate position is equivalent to the old Catalog Administrator
position with privileges on the catalog side only. After a year of activity in
the new area, Diana will be eligible for promotion to the new Catalog Administrator
position with privileges on both sides.

Diana was the first Inventories Administrator who exclusively used the new Inventory
Comparison Tool for inventory approval work:

https://www.bricklink.com/r3/inventorycomparison/main.page?sourceB=1&invB=60001&sourceA=0&invA=60001-1

She has also done considerable work in improving the Help Pages for those contributing
inventories to the BrickLink catalog. For example, this page explaining the Inventory
Comparison Tool was just completed recently:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2594

This page also happens to contain the first-ever BrickLink-hosted color chart
comparing BrickLink color names with official LEGO color names.

We trust Diana will continue with the enthusiasm and dedication she has shown
over the past year. Please join me in welcoming her to this new position!

I live in Switzerland and explored through the catalog a bit but couldn’t really
find a store here (or in neighbouring country’s) that has a big catalog of Lego
Mario sets
If anyone either owns a store or can help me find one please let me know
Thank you.

Hi.
I was checking the xml files I received on the page https://www.bricklink.com/catalogDownload.asp
I noticed that in the "Original Boxes" there is an ITEMID field with
a length of 17 characters (Disneylandparis-1). And in the description of the
ITEMID field it is indicated that it is "Limit 15 characters" (https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp
?helpID=168).
It turns out that the real limit on the ITEMID field is 17 characters or more?

Hello. I see that there is a La Redoute Version of Set 609-1 that is listed as
609-2.
I want to add to my inventory La Redoute Version of Set 604-2 and I was wondering
what I have to do to request its addition. Of course I can supply all informations
about year and photos of the box, instructions and whatever.

Thank you for your help

Does anyone know why it is like that?

With the recent addition of Commander Fox sw0202b, it has got many people in
the community questioning wether or not variant minifigs such as this should
be given an sw number on here?
Have the rules changed or been relaxed? Where will it end?
For the completionists it just makes collecting more challenging (& expensive)
& the worry will be it’ll put people off or they’ll give up altogether, as the
barrier to collect minifigs is already high with over 1300+ in the catalog.
For those wondering, I did own Fox, but sold it as it never had an sw number
& now I’m faced with a decision, do I fork out hundreds of pounds to get it (if
I can find one), or just sit with the knowledge of my collection never being
complete & quitting altogether?

With LEGO continuing their trend of including Bionicle easter eggs in new sets,
I think it is important to accurately catalog these pieces.

and

Part No: 62698pb21 Name: Minifigure, Utensil Computer Laptop with Screen, Characters with Swords and Health Bars in Video Game Pattern (Sticker) - Set 41755
*
62698pb21 Minifigure, Utensil Computer Laptop with Screen, Characters with Swords and Health Bars in Video Game Pattern (Sticker) - Set 41755
Parts: Minifigure, Utensil, Decorated {Black}
should be modified to
include the phrase "Tahu and Kopaka".

Part

Part No: 15210pb095 Name: Road Sign 2 x 2 Square with Open O Clip with Black Robot Silhouette (Bionicle Onua), Bright Light Orange Mountains, Mask, and Health Bars on Computer Screen Pattern (Sticker) - Set 70423

I have submitted requests for two of these already.
