We never really get to see pure black and white. Interesting colors.

Or non-colour / all-colour

But then it also may be a cultural thing / translation problem.  Colour names
are tricky and translations are never exact.

Yes, full of false friends.  It’s rare but I’ve heard English-speaking people
say blanc (white) instead of noir for black

Oops.  I forgot it was the very up-to-date BL forum here

The text isn’t important, I put the links only for the colour patches

(The Hue value mostly corresponds to what we call tint or colour in everyday
language.  Low Saturation would be “faded,” high “bright” or “vivid.”  And Lightness,
well, it’s about black and white, with the “full” colour in the middle.)

¹ For the “real” chestnut fruit (châtaigne), we have the colour châtain,
which is used exclusively for hair and it’s not the same colour as English chestnut.
There’s colour patches here https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/chestnut and https://fr.wiktionary.org/wiki/châtain

  Hello everybody,

Based on more than a year of excellent work, we have just promoted BrickLink
member TakeAbricK (Diana) to the Catalog Associate position:

https://www.bricklink.com/v3/member/community_experts.page

The Catalog Associate position is equivalent to the old Catalog Administrator
position with privileges on the catalog side only. After a year of activity in
the new area, Diana will be eligible for promotion to the new Catalog Administrator
position with privileges on both sides.

Diana was the first Inventories Administrator who exclusively used the new Inventory
Comparison Tool for inventory approval work:

https://www.bricklink.com/r3/inventorycomparison/main.page?sourceB=1&invB=60001&sourceA=0&invA=60001-1

She has also done considerable work in improving the Help Pages for those contributing
inventories to the BrickLink catalog. For example, this page explaining the Inventory
Comparison Tool was just completed recently:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2594

This page also happens to contain the first-ever BrickLink-hosted color chart
comparing BrickLink color names with official LEGO color names.

We trust Diana will continue with the enthusiasm and dedication she has shown
over the past year. Please join me in welcoming her to this new position!

Thant is great. There is probably no one better anywhere on Bricklink. Her
knowledge goes far beyond that of mortal men. She always has been willing to
help and has built a lot of the catalog herself. Early experience with her when
I was selling, she is impeccably honest.
Such a good choice,
John P

Thanks again John P.
I have to thank you also for all these nice vintage sets. Especially the Samsonite
Sets. Much cheaper and easier to get back then.

Diana
