Which would you recommend?

For a phone or small laptop: type C.  It’s less bulky and goes in all sockets
in France and most sockets in Europe (that is, even the weird types J, K, L of
Switzerland, Danemark and Italy, but not UK).

IIRC, grounded sockets (E or F) are mandatory for new installations but there’s
still a lot of type C sockets and a few don’t allow a type E/F plug.

Depending on where you go (hotel…), you may also find some USB A sockets… but
I wouldn’t count on it (or on them).

I have no idea what type of lodging I'll have to be honest.

what sort of adapter will I need in order to charge my phone?

Depending on your adapter, it might already be suitable for 230V/50Hz.

Yep, they are mostly all switching power supplies now, not transformers, so they
work on different voltages & frequencies.

  Regarding plug type; https://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plugs-and-sockets/
Get yourself a travelplug US to EU.

Come on guys! We can obviously see that fee is being put to good use... with
the constant inventory uploading errors for hours on end. AND don't forget
all those new seller additions to make our life easier such as "My Collection"
BE FAIR!!

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick...

The OP was obviously talking about Ebay....

I actually pay about 25% fees on ebay due to promoted listings. I just adjust
my prices accordingly and have no problem with ebay fees. I make an insane amount
of sales on Ebay. Well worth whatever fees they want to charge.

+1 So long as after all fees are said and done and the prices remain higher I’ll
still sell on there

Strange that comments about the selling platform specifically reflect on those
who use it without specifically mentioning the people who use it?

If I make fun or poke at facebook (and not its users) and you have a facebook
account is there also a correlation there?

To me it seems like a very strange way to look at the world. I mean unless you
own eBay or facebook then maybe offence would be warranted.

+1 I was a bit confused myself

Me - make up a story about how the online bricklink seller “bricksoffaith” got
his name

ChatGPT - “Once upon a time, there was a man named Jacob who was a huge fan of
building with LEGO bricks. He loved it so much that he started collecting rare
sets and selling them online to other fans.
As his business grew, he realized that he needed a unique name to stand out from
the competition. One day, as he was building with his bricks, he had a profound
realization. He realized that just like LEGO bricks, his faith was something
that he could build upon and strengthen every day.
Inspired by this realization, Jacob decided to name his business “BricksofFaith”
as a symbol of the building blocks of his faith and the foundation of his business.
The name was a perfect fit, and soon he became one of the most trusted and well-known
online LEGO brick sellers.
And so, every time Jacob sold a LEGO set, he felt like he was sharing a piece
of his faith and building a community of like-minded LEGO enthusiasts. The name
“BricksofFaith” became synonymous with quality and integrity, and Jacob was proud
to be a part of a community that shared his love for LEGO and his love for God.“

Well the CEO needs to pay for those pricey Cuban cigars he loves to smoke so

Me: Tell me a story about a farting Sasquatch

ChatGPT: “Once upon a time, in a dense forest, there lived a Sasquatch who loved
to eat berries and roots. One day, after a particularly big feast of his favorite
foods, the Sasquatch let out a loud, long fart.
The sound echoed throughout the forest, startling the animals and sending birds
flying into the sky. The Sasquatch was quite pleased with himself, laughing and
patting his belly.

But little did he know, the fart was so strong that it had the power to shake
the trees and knock down branches. A family of squirrels, who were building their
nest on a nearby tree, were sent tumbling to the ground.

Feeling guilty, the Sasquatch went to see if the squirrels were okay. To his
surprise, the squirrels were not upset at all and instead were fascinated by
the powerful fart. They asked the Sasquatch to show them how he did it.

The Sasquatch happily obliged and taught the squirrels the fine art of farting.
From then on, the forest was filled with the joyful sound of Sasquatch farts
and squirrel farts, harmonizing together in a symphony of flatulence. And so,
the Sasquatch and the squirrels became the best of friends, living happily ever
after in their fart-filled forest.”

……..

I asked Tell me a story about how the online bricklink seller 1001bricks got
his name

It said

Once upon a time, there was a man named Max who loved to build with LEGO bricks.
He had a large collection and spent many hours creating and playing with his
creations. One day, Max discovered a website called BrickLink where he could
buy and sell individual LEGO bricks and sets. He started selling some of his
extra bricks on the site and was soon making a profit.

As his business grew, Max realized he needed a unique name to stand out from
the other sellers. He wanted a name that reflected his love for LEGO bricks and
his goal to provide customers with a huge selection of bricks to choose from.
That's when he came up with the name "1001bricks".

The name was inspired by the classic story "One Thousand and One Nights,"
which tells the tales of a clever and resourceful princess who uses her wits
to delay her execution. Just as the princess used her wit and resources to survive,
Max wanted to use his extensive knowledge of LEGO bricks to provide his customers
with everything they needed to bring their building dreams to life.

Max's business flourished and he became one of the most well-known and trusted
sellers on BrickLink. Customers came from all over the world to buy bricks from
him, and he even started to build a loyal following of fans who appreciated his
vast selection and expert advice.

Years later, Max's business had grown into a brick empire, but he never forgot
his humble beginnings and the inspiration behind his name. And so, the name "1001bricks"
remained, a symbol of Max's love for LEGO and his commitment to helping others
build their dreams, one brick at a time.

And lastly
Tell me a story about how the bricklink forum mod SylvianLS got his name

SylvianLS was once a young man named Sylvain who was passionate about building
with LEGO bricks. He loved the creative outlet that LEGO provided, and spent
countless hours creating and experimenting with different designs.

One day, Sylvain discovered a website called BrickLink, where he could buy and
sell LEGO bricks and sets from people all over the world. He became an active
member of the community, participating in forums and helping other users with
their building questions.

Sylvain's knowledge and expertise quickly made him a respected member of
the community, and he was soon asked to become a moderator for the forums. He
accepted, and quickly proved himself to be a fair and helpful moderator, always
eager to lend a hand and diffuse any conflicts that arose.

As a nod to his French heritage, Sylvain decided to add an "LS" to the
end of his username, creating the handle "SylvianLS". The name stuck,
and soon everyone in the community knew him by that name.

Years went by, and SylvianLS remained a beloved and respected member of the BrickLink
community. He continued to share his love for LEGO and help others build their
dreams, one brick at a time. And so, the name "SylvianLS" became synonymous
with creativity, helpfulness, and a passion for LEGO bricks.

Yes.  I meant: You’ll always get some wrong information among all the
information you get.

Not really.  Or in the same way boats did: engineering, industry….

which went to the moon so chatgpt might lead the way for something better

For info, those models are decades old, we just arrived at a time when computers
are fast enough and we have data enough to feed them.

So, yes, scientists are learning more about them as they can now experiment with
them, and they build better ones.  But inherently, they won’t lead to something
else.

For instance, chatGPT will never play chess.  It will be able (or already is
able) to fake a game, write a series of moves that look like a game. It may
also only use legal moves (no obvious error).  But it’s not “playing.”
One game, it will look like Bobby Fischer, the next, it’ll be SylvainLS.  And
it’ll mostly be something in the middle, because the middle is more probable.

But that doesn’t mean those “AI”s aren’t useful (or funny).  Just don’t expect
or believe too much.

But they only improve. They haven’t been able in the past to get so much learning

How about the often overlooked "LEGO's"?

I like to build LEGO's sets.

That I can agree with since it’s possessive not plural

Here, we frequently (every two weeks, at weekends) get 70% or 80% off FVF for
non-store ebayers. So we pay the fixed fee plus about 4% in total including the
payment processing fees. That ends up being cheaper than Bricklink plus paypal.

Must be one of those European things since I don’t think I’ve ever even heard
of that offer from eBay

It is not so good for parts (unless selling as bundles), but for sets it works
really well.
