| If I have a storewide 10% off sale, but I want to give one customer 20% do I
a) issue a coupon for 10% off that they apply to the sale price,
b) or is there a way to issue a coupon that is 20% off base price?

| I send out a 10% off coupon to all of my first time buyers that leave me a feedback.
It doesn't matter if the feedback is positive, nuetral, or negative, so I
don't run afoul of rules about purchasing positive feedback (not that I've
had anything but positive feedback). It says on the coupon that it's good
for all items and is in addition to any current sale.
So this weekend I have a sale going that's 15% off all parts. I get an email
from a user complaining that he's not getting the 25% off. After some back-and-forth
trying to understand the issue, he said he did the math, and his $80 order (before
sale prices) should be $60 when it's coming up as $61.20. I spent half a
dozen emails explaining that the coupon is working off the sale price, it's
not cumulative. I'm still not sure he understands, he hasn't completed
the order and his last email said "I'll have to think about it, but I think
it's dishonest." Sigh.
I'm really surprised the buyer took note of the original prices before the
sale, I don't know that I've ever had a buyer mention it. Not sure if
the coupon is worth it. I'm new to BL but have used the same strategy on
various other platforms, such as ebay, etc., to encourage buyers leaving feedback.
Not a big deal overall, and certainly a one off (I hope) but it cost me about
3 hours of doing other things for the store. And thre's someone out there
that thinks I'm "dishonest."

it off in chunks as well while looking for a buyer. For anyone interested in
