Those of us in the US have constant problems with some carriers - for me it’s
USPS marking things delivered before they deliver them, then misdelivering.
I never got the package, it’s not the sellers fault, but there’s still a problem.
For me, the best way to ensure no issues with delivery is to not ship USPS -
however, it’s pretty rough searching through things just to find out at the end
that I’ve either got to take another risk (I just lost another order) because
the seller only offers USPS, or I’ve got to request an invoice and jump through
hoops to spend a hundred bucks.

The only way to protect the seller and the buyer from incompatible shippers is
to allow the buyers to filter by shipping carriers offered - without it, I’m
ordering straight from Lego or Amazon, because Lego let’s me choose and Amazon
refunds when USPS refuses to do their jobs.

We’re all adults here - buyers know the best way to get a package to them, sellers
hate dealing with lost packages, and nobody wants to deal with the stress - let’s
eliminate it together.

I have this happening not only to me.
0-feedbacks users, fresh new, make orders and then not only they do not pay,
but they do not answer emails either.
I can understand the buyers' remorse, but the complete lack of politeness
is unexplicable to me.

I would suggest that if a buyer gets a NPB on their first order, probably they
are not good members of the community and their privileges should be revoked
without the need of waiting for three strikes.

I recently found the "hide items if havewant qty" filter when I use "Wanted
list" in a shop, which is great.
However, it will be a bit tedious to have to open the filters and check it each
time. I would like it either to remember my last setting, to be configurable
as default, or to always have checked as default (which makes more sense, since
items I have is not wanted).

Hi All,
I would very much like the ability to set a Preferred Sort Order for Wants Lists,
rather than the default 'Newest' always stealing the light.

I have many projects running and would prefer to work in Alphabetical Order.
Although this is in the options list I have to keep selecting it. I'd like
to "set and forget". Or is there already a way? I'd be happy to be enlightened.

Kind regards

Hi,
I don't know if this is the right place to place a suggestion like this,
so sorry in advance if that is indeed the case.

I really would like to see the ability to show more than 100 items on a page
in a wanted list. When I want to buy certain pieces from my wanted list, I only
can select pieces on 1 page of my wanted list. It's not possible to select
a couple of pieces from 1 page and from another page at the same time. The same
with updating remarks, quantity, max price etc.

when looking at updating my inventory, I wanted to update the sale percentage
of the item based on the last time it has sold in my store. Although have not
seen the option to do this in the inventory section, only to update if the lot
was created/added to the inventory before or after a selected period (as shown
below)

Update only items which are ....... days old or .....(newer/older)

Therefore I would like to oppose that a new option is added to update the lot
if sold, or not sold within a certain period. (would look something like as
shown below)

update only items which .....(have sold/haven't sold).....within.........days

If this is somewhat possible already would be great to know how. Although if
not and an admin or site engineer is able to implement this would be great.

Here my suggestion:

Every seller gets a minifig with the corresponding brick on the torso for reaching
the next "rating level", as a BL/Lego award (yellow, blue, red, etc.....).
This would be a nice gesture from Lego for sellers, hoe keep this webside alive.

Can there be a list we can make, like a wanted list, to enter all our surplus
lego?
Then that list can be compared to a wanted list, so we know what we have already
in stock?
Also an action button that moves the `surplus `out of stock, to the wanted list.

Recently, adding a bunch of minifigures parts, I had to type the words "light
bluish gray" and "dark bluish gray" in the search field.
It would be a lot easier and faster if you can just type three letters instead
of three words.

Is update like this even possible? Can I help somehow in doing it?

A thought.....

When searching for a part using the All Item Search with sort set to Best Match,
the site should build the results starting with actual match before listing possible
variants.

Example:
Keyword: 3137c01
Results Generated: 3 - 1. 3137c01assy2, 2. 3137c01assy1, 3. 3137c01

When best match is selected, the order should actually be..... 1. 3137c01, 2.
3137c01assy1, 3. 3137c01assy2

Currently I would have to select "Item name (A-Z)" as the sort function to generate
this result.

Thanks for indulging me!

So maybe this is a feature, and I just haven't found it yet, but can we please
add a button to the order page that removes all ordered items from wanted list
based on quantity?

And maybe another optional feature that adds remarks to items on Wanted List
once an order is placed/shipped that says "XX ordered"

I can't tell you how many times I have ordered duplicate parts because I
forgot to take it off my wanted list, or was making multiple orders before previous
ones arrived.

Hello,
Is this possible into a wanted list, on the color list of the filter to reduce
the list to the exact list of colors of the wl’s items ? For exemple, my wanted
list has 50 items of 4 colors, the color list should display only 4 choices.
Thank you

It'd be useful to have a number you can tag for something that you've
ordered but hasn't arrived/been verified yet.
Currently, I'm making notes in the remarks slot but it'd be great to
have something you can filter a search against.

I am on bricklink since 15 years and I can't believe this has not been fixed
yet.

When someone buys on bricklink, some things happen

1) "Item Last sold" date changes.
2) "Item price guide" is influenced.

Alas, many orders are cancelled after the purchase happened, because the user
does not pay (or someone uses this cheat to avoid bricklink fees or spoil the
price guide adjusting some items values).

To avoid people have a malicious benefit from this, I suggest the "Item last
sold" and "Price guide" being backtracked and reversed if the order gets anyhow
cancelled.

This transaction in fact would have never took place and the statistics should
NOT be in the database.

Hello,

I strongly believe that 12 days (5 from the invoice + 7 from the NPB notify)
for a total unresponsive buyer is too much waiting for getting your items back
on your inventory.

I know that I can cancel the order myself, but that would feel simply wrong:
the user is a NPB, they must face the consequences, they cannot get away with
it. This way, they could do this again, to me or to another shop and bricklink
is mainly a community.

So, I would suggest that if the system sees that there are no messages FROM the
buyer to the seller, the buyer has 2 (instead of 7) days to reply before the
NPB is completed.

If, instead, there is a communication, 7 days feel right.

Would it be possible to integrate the official LEGO Pick-A-Brick piece prices
be listed in the information for those parts available? Maybe one day could be
purchased through them as well?

They could certainly use a better selection and cart system like BrickLink has!

Mass add total items in set inventory list to wanted list.
Or...
Set inventory list with checkboxes for adding multiple items to wanted list,
instead of having to add each item one at a time.
Is there already a way of doing this?
Thanks in advance

Hi there , would it be possible to (also) add the "Verify Items' button om
the top of the form when doing a partout ? Currently there is only a button
on the bottom and with larger sets you have to scroll all the way done to verify
the items ... having the button on the top would be of great help! And pretty
easy change.

Same (but less important for me) applies to the "Submit for Edit" button and
the "Upload Items" button on the 1st and last part of the part out process ...

Many thanks

Hi,

i wanted to upload an IO-file which included custom parts which i plan to get
3d-printed (maybe?).

The point is, it was not possible to verify the items at all, because of the
custom part. It would be great if this process would simply exclude the custom
parts and verify the regular parts (as expected?). That would be more user-friendly
instead of forcing me to always remove the custom parts before uploading.

Or is there another way of dealing with this issue?

Bye,
Christian

Hi,

the title says it all. I'd prefer the Default Wanted List always on top or
bottom of the Wanted List overview. What do you think?

Its really annoying searching through the original trilogy star wars stuff; separate
movie specific stuff like snowtroopers and episode 6 lando into movie specific
categories and put the ambiguous stuff like tie pilots and stormtroopers into
an "original trilogy" category.

I've been trying to add Minifigure parts to my want list. But unlike the

it possible to add these?

Hey,

i tried to set the quantity of some (optional) parts on my Wanted List to zero.
But it seems to be impossible to reach a 100% green bar this way, which is weird?

Example:
SomePart, Want: 1, Have: 1
AnotherPart, Want: 0, Have: -
leads to a 50% green bar.

It should be at 100% (because my requirements are met) or am i missing something?

Would be great to be able to create a wish list of multiple sets and then brick
out the wishlist with a single click before going to the store.

When trying to add multiple sets into one wishlist for better optimization around
shipping and stores if I don't purchase the bricks at that moment it's
easy to forget what sets were bricked out into that wishlist.

Apologies if this feature does exist and I have missed it but unable to find
any reference to it

...should be linked to the catalog.

It would be nice to be able to click on a part image, item #, or even PCC in
the new inventory comparison tool and be taken to the appropriate item in the

I was just listing a new set and since I built the counterparts I'm listing
them as separate entries but now I have to go through every part and manually
check the qty and was thinking it would be a good idea to possibly add an option
like a checkbox that gives the option to add counterparts (possibly with a list
of parts needed for it) then when clicked will auto remove those parts from the
parts list to make it easier to list them. Also, it is possibly a checkout that
you could click to show the counterparts such as stickered items or assemblies
in the inventory list and then remove the parts from the list that are used in
the counterparts or have a compare function at the bottom similar to what is
done with alternate parts. I know this sounds similar to talk previously about
adding 2 inventories for each set (1 for new from the box and 1 for what it's
like after being built) but I think it is a separate enough idea to be separate.

Hello,

Please add a general coupon code option that is not user specific. Please include
a field for limiting the number of total uses. The current fields available for
a user specific coupon should still be present. Ideally the code should be entered
in the cart and/or during the checkout process.

Kind regards,

This topic is so hot (but not because it's summer) these days... maybe we
can add Slovene (Slovenian) language too?

Hello,

Please create an extended and more detailed section on the order page for customers
to see delivery status when tracking numbers are provided by sellers. Please
display posted tracking numbers more visibly and provide the most recent carrier
update directly on the order page with a link to track the package on the carriers
website.

In addition, please extend the character limit for tracking numbers.

Brickowl has been running this feature for years. The benefits of this feature
speak for themselves.

Kind regards,
Nate

Hi all,

last year July 1st, the new european guidelines were implemented for selling
online.

Our shop aims to stay below the 10.000 euro treshold, as we run our shop as a
hobby, not a business! We sell at Bricklink to pay for our hobby in a way. Like
a lot of us do.

The only tool that is provided by Bricklink is "download my orders"

The 10.000 euro is based on sales from new parts or sets, outside your own country,
but within Europe.

As you can see on the picture, I can select all sales from outside The Netherlands......
but not "only within Europe", so when I run the total, all orders from outside
Europe are still added to the calculation.

Also, when used parts are sold within the order, they should not be calculated
as well! How to exclude those from the total??

Please add the option in "Exclude" to select "Orders outside the European Union"
Please add the option in "Exclude" to select "used parts or sets"

Right now, all order details will be purged from the Bricklink system after 6
months, so it's impossible to get detailed info about "new/used" or "outside
the EU" afterwards.

Hopefully Bricklink will provide us with the right tools to be able to stay under
the 10.000 euro treshold.

Also, what is considered Europe? The countries that are within the EEA, or all
countries that are withing Europe?

For example Russia is within Europe according to the list on:

https://www.countries-ofthe-world.com/countries-of-europe.html

Please help

kind regards

Hello!
Can we make it so that the seller can change status of an order to “Delivered”
if it has a tracking number? I get updates with usos with my orders and I know
when they are delivered, and several of my customers usually don’t even put “received.”

So it’d make it a lot easier on me and my OCD to be able to put “delivered” when
I know that it is thanks! 😂

The Lego ninjago core villains don’t have a really creative tribe name compared
to the past waves. Yes I know core is supposed to be a sort of “General” series
but I wanna add some life to them. Can you suggest some potential tribe names
for me?
I came up with the iron serpents but the more ideas the merrier.

Why do German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Dutch get their own forum topics,

Some sellers sell .pdf files of the instructions they make. They have a qty.
of 50 or 100 or so but it can happen that they can sell all of them before noticing
so maybe adding an option of having an unlimited qty. would be right for them?

I have been looking for an app or site to inventory my Lego collection and use
that info to tell me what sets I can build or what pieces are needed for partially
built sets. Does Bricklink do this? I know about the app on apple which you
can take a picture of a collection and it will tell you what sets you can build.
I am looking for something different since my collection is very large & sorted.
I am not interested in selling pieces since I would rather use them to build.
This type of user friendly app would build the Lego world since it would make
it easier to take ones collection and turn it into great things. Thank you...

When Condition (New/Used) is showed, also show sub-condition (sealed/complete/incomplete).
For example when using "Buy all" on Wanted List and clicking on a seller.
See attached screenshots. Currently only Used/New is shown, show also Sealed/Complete/Incomplete.

Also make it possible to specify "Sealed/Complete/Incomplete" in Wanted Lists,
not only New/Used/Any.

What are the odds that Bricklink ends up being a user-friendly marketplace without
varying hidden fees and much more regular instant checkout?

It's not great that I have to read evey seller's terms and conditions,
and then use a calculator, after guessing the shipping, in order to find out
who is actually selling a set for the lowest price.

Dear Bricklink Team,

i would suggest to you, to add the official prices of each set on the page of
the sets.
Currently i am always visiting the brickset page for that info.
If you would feature the prices on your page, i wouldnt have to visit brickset
and you would gain more traffic.

Sincerely
Henri

Greetings fellow Bricklinkers,

I have a simple solution to what I see as one of the more frequent complaints
I see sellers have about bricklink, and it is the feedback system.

SOLUTION:

Switch the Lifetime Praise on the top right for the recent 6 Month Praise
available under the "Feedback" tab, as the first rating a buyer sees.

This will relieve smaller stores of the burden of a lifetime penalty for a
1st impression that can be overcome in 6 months instead, with proper corrections.

A store's reputation is one of the most valuable intangible assets it has.
And the metric for a store's reputation is the feedback system. If you have
a good reputation that means a buyer will feel more confident in committing to
a purchase knowing that the end result will leave them satisfied over being frustrated.

I personally buy and sell quite a bit on Bricklink and I find my first impression
of a store is not always correct because of how things are currently designed.
The current system be default shows a buyer what a stores lifetime Praise is
vs the most recent 6 months Praise. IMHO, the recent 6 months is more important
and should be the default for what a buyer will see on first impression.

Why the 6 Month over Lifetime? To me this tells me whether a store is currently
on track reputation wise, corrected problems, overcome issues resulting from
being a new seller. When a lifetime Praise for a small time / new seller may
forever be impacted by one single simple neutral that might literally say "No
problems".

I know from the first impression that if the lifetime states 80% praise then
I am very hesitant to buy. I follow that up by looking at the 6 month and if
the praise 100% then that first impression is erased for me. But for those that
don't know to look at the more important 6 month Praise may forever be turned
off and go to another store.

NOTE: 1

I have provided my store as an example of what to switch. Lifetime can still
be found, but under "Feedback" tab where the current 6 month is at. I frankly
don't think this solution impacts my store personally, I however would appreciate
it as a buyer as well newer stores would benefit.

NOTE: 2
Ebay goes by a 12 month Recent feedback as default, as well other larger online
venues do something similar.

My Suggestion is to add a ✨"View/Click Count"✨ on specific items in a seller's
inventory that we could see to help better gauge what our customers arrived
at our store to buy
. It would also help drive sellers to add to inventory
that will actually sell
. The feature could be cycled between monthly,
yearly, and overall with a drop down tab for more accurate information
for
sellers. Below is a hypothetical mock up of what the suggestion would look like
in practice.

Over the last month or so, I have placed some 30 orders, and naturally some issues
come up, of which can be done better.

THE EXPERIENCES
This is in respect to, when I place an order with a store, sometimes they are
not able to find many of the part(s) of which I am seeking to purchase.

This can get complicated, where I have already made my payment for that order
as I do via PayPal.

As I am prepared to buy there again soon, my option has always been, for the
vendor/seller to issue me a coupon to the value of the missing parts.

WHAT I SEEK HERE IS
Rather than be issued a coupon, there are some improvements of which can help
here.

#1, A search option for that store, which will give me only the items of which
are exactly the price of the missing part(s)

#2, A search option, which shows up only the items of which are below that value.

#3, An easy reference point, like in a cart, of which says, how much to go before
I reach the value of these missing part(s)

#4, Let the seller suggest buying these instead

WHAT I AM SEEKING

I want something like a coupon, except, where I the buyer, offer to pay for something
the next time I place and order with that store.

THE PROBLEM
Of the 30x orders I have placed in the previous months, I have had a funny thing
happen in one of them.

I was sent some extras, and all by mistake by the seller. They where not even
meant to be getting sent out that day, yet, here they are.

Naturally, I want to make it good with the seller, by either returning, or paying
for the items of which they sent by mistake.

As I aim to purchase more from that store in say a few weeks, perhaps a month
or two, it makes prudent sense for me to postpone this payment, until such time
as when I make the payment for that future order.

As I said, I have placed 30x orders in the last month or two, it is hard for
me to keep track, and, often forget totally too. What I may dub as a counter-coupon,
is seen by me as the perfect solution to this problem.

WHERE IS MY IDEA FOCUSED
--- Is in respect to the "Order Status" on the Orders Placed page.

WHAT I SEEK
--- In addition to the Status of 'Sent', I want another one with
a word that means, its ready to pick up.

PROBLEM I SEE
--- Recently with the 30 or so orders I have placed in the past two months,
I have a few, where I have the opportunity to go and pick up the order from the
seller, to save money and other things.

The word 'Sent' does not suit these types of orders. Some of the sellers,
do not set it to Sent, where I needed to ask them to do that, after I have picked
up the order, so I can in turn click it onto Completed.

I will suggest, not only have the Second option to the Sent status message, but,
also, to have an option other than received as its follow up. Such as "Picked
Up" just for me to say I got it.

Could there also be an "Error" status, for when the vendor/seller can not find
a particular part(s) for the order, This will be replaced with "Resolved" once
that has been done.

Further to this, for me the buyer, to have the option of say "Short" or "Dispute"
when, the order does not include all the bits I have ordered. I do seem to
have this a fair bit. I do place large and complicated orders of which test
the best at times.

It would be extremely helpful to have an option to find stores near me. Specifically
for local pickup, to save on shipping. Is this something you could look at?

Howdy!

I can hear you now...Baron, what is Double Search?

I'm glad you asked, because I made it up, but on second thought a better
name might be Compound Search!

But, Baron, what is Compound Search & how did you come up with this fantastic
idea!

Well, have you ever purchased a Bulk Lot? Of course you have, because all the
Cool Kids do!

But what happens when you find a part & BL returns 23 sets it can be found in...now
what?

Well, you keep digging & then find another odd part which BL shows 18 sets for...

But what if we could enter TWO parts & see what sets those two parts could be
found in together???

*BOOM* The sound just made by your mind being blown away!

You're welcome!

Come on BL...tis a simple logic gate addition to the search function already
in place & you love us!

Baron

Neutral feedback should neither be considered positive nor negative.
When displaying a store's positive (or negative) feedback score, neutrals
should be excluded.

In its current state, there are 2 problems:
1. Leaving a store neutral feedback does the same amount of damage to its overall
praise percentage as negative feedback, even when the customer considers their
experience neither more positive or more negative.
2. Buyers are less likely to leave neutral feedback when they have genuinely
neutral experiences, because they don't want to harm the store reputation.
This leads to a much less honest picture of the actual experience of buying
from that store.

I think [2] well represents most long term BL users. Newcomers are more likely
to provide honest neutral feedback, without realising the unintended harm it
has on the store reputation.

Or hey, just be honest and rename them "positive, kinda bad, negative", as that's
realistically what they've turned into.

I would find it helpful if we could get a color guide based on the part.

This is to make it easier, for example, to see which part there are the most
colors of or which part of a certain color is most common or least common in
sets. Etc.

For instance

Item Known Colors Colors in sets Colors for sale Colors in wantedlists
3001 Brick 2x4 45 42 54 66
3023 Plate 1x2 53 53 45 69
....
....
.....

I believe it would be extremely helpful to have an additional category that serves
as a middle ground between Sets and Parts.

Basically this Sub-Set category would help part out and sell sections of a Set
that contains multiple smaller builds like cars/ships/etc. The main reason I
thought of this, was because I was trying to build the tank from 7258 Wookiee
Attack, but was struggling with parting it out. This would work similarly to
brick-built animals, but not sorted under the Parts category to reduce clutter.

Benifits would be:

-Easily parting out sections of a set
-Easily sell sections of a set with accurate historical price data
-De-clutter listings for "incomplete" sets where only a small build from a set
is sold

Cons:
-Massive amount of data to process and verify
-Potential database clutter

Solutions:
-If this is something the community would actually like and use, Make a site
announcement to croud source information in relation to the smaller builds, and
in no time, the community will fill a majority of the gap. Of course at first,
we would start with more popular sets/builds and add more as needed.
-create a new category to keep clutter down

BrickLink Admin,

Could you add a feature that a My Cost for the Set would be added to the Part
Out Step 1 page. Would like the ability to add the cost for the set(s) and the
it divides evenly between the parts. I like to keep track of this for personal
and tax reasons. It is quite tedious to add to each item. Below is just an example
of how the system would calculate cost per piece. There might be an easier or
better method, this is just me being simple minded. All number are fictitious.

Cost of set: $90
Total Pieces: 500
Cost per piece: $0.18

I need to refund one of my customers due to an item not arriving which is presumed
lost in post but when I go to refund there is no relevant option for this?

I’m forced to choose one of the following unrelated reasons for refunding:-

Buyer and seller agree to cancel order/items
Seller cannot complete transaction
Item was missing or unsatisfactory
Overcharged shipping
Buyer paid incorrect amount

Ideally there should be an option ‘Item presumed lost in post’ and if Bricklink
isn’t already maybe consider keeping this data on users to help look for patterns
when deciding outcomes for other issues. For instance if a buyer is regularly
receiving refunds for items they claim haven’t arrived then I think Bricklink
needs to be aware of this. Likewise if a seller is regularly having to issue
refunds it may be an indication that they are not very reliable for one reason
or another...

Hello!

I've encountered a lot with (test?) bricks, is there a market for these kind
of bricks?
If so, what is the value of these bricks. I've included some pictures.

Thanks in advance!

like on inventory, where it shows (1) a small number next to the writing in the
items preview page, how about if i have 1 of that item in my brickstore it should
show a small (1) next to the word inventory adjacent to the wanted list?

All that I am suggesting for this is that I think it would be nice if there
was a tab in Stud.io to request new parts to be added in upcoming updates. I
don't know how plausible or logical this request is, or if I just accidentally
suggested something that is way too big or hard to do.

Thanks,

Is there a setting that will auto-pay my monthly invoice when it is issued?

As there is no BL message that accompanies it and I don't get a notification
in the page header, the only way I ever see them is if I happen to open whatever
page it is that finally shows the payment due notification. It's not a page
I open often - the profile maybe? I stumbled upon it this morning only to realize
I hadn't paid my April fees.

Why can't I set it to auto charge my Paypal account or credit card upon receipt
of the invoice? Or is there a way to do this? Or maybe at least to get a message
in BL messages when an invoice is issued so I get a flag on the header?

I suggest we will benefit from a simple settings which commands the on-screen
size (25,50 or 100,200) of our wanted lists.
Much like we have settings to control search results size (50,100,200...) in
current settings.

I'd like to see (knowing this will probably take some time!) the ability
for a wanted list to store multiple copies of the same model within the one wanted
list.

I have a bunch of rolling stock that are all copies of the same model. Rather
than having multiple wanted lists or a single wanted list with multiples of the
parts (e.g. 16 of a part for 4 copies of 4 parts each), it might be nicer to
manage as a bunch of copies of the same model within the wanted list.

This would still allow me to do "buy all" which would get all missing parts of
all copies in one go, but would allow me also to know when one copy is fully
ready to build even if I haven't got parts for *all* copies (so I can start
building that one while waiting for other orders to arrive).

Best regards,
-J

I'd like the wanted list quantity that can be applied to be allowed to be
0.

I am in the process of building multiple copies of the same sets of rolling stock.
I have one wanted list of each from when I first uploaded them (to verify that
the build would work IRL) and now that I've done that I want to build 4 or
5 more of each.

I'm making each copy a separate wanted list for my own management (so once
I've got all the parts for one I can start building it while more parts arrive).
Rather than uploading from the studio file each time (which is a lengthy process
for some of these models due to their size), I thought I'd simply copy the
existing wanted list. However, they've all got the quantity set to full and
the mechanism to reset doesn't allow it to go to 0; the message says it must
be positive.

Thanks and best regards,
-J

The current New User Tutorial links to a VERY OLD uTube Video and was last updated
in 2013.
I‘m no content creator but surely someone within Bricklink can solve this dilemma.
The home page looks completely different now and it’s about time that the site
made things current and easy to follow for new users.

The best way to drive sales to the platform is through education. Introduce people
and teach them how to use it.
Win/Win sales generate fee revenue.

Just spent hours scouring uTube for Bricklink Tutorials and it’s a mess videos
are 10min to 40min in length.
Most tutorials are too long and/or become information overload.
The site needs a series of short, easy to follow video tutorials split into categories
for BUYERS and SELLERS example:

1. How to register an account (the number of people that can’t manage this simple
set would blow your mind, so many people get stuck and give up entirely and move
on to eBay or Brickowl)
2. How to navigate the site
3. How to create a wanted list
4. How to place an order
5. How to request a quote
6. How to request an invoice

Similar tutorials for sellers.

Please HELP - ANYONE?

Would it be possible for item removal requests to have the part number listed
with the part to locate and insure correct part is being either deleted or adjusted
quantity......from the seller's perspective it would be helpful and should
only be a minor update I would think...thanks!

When searching for SOME color of parts, we often find things that are counterparts
of themselves, and not real other parts that can fit into the role.

look at that:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=4185&colorID=5&in=A

An experienced fellow told me it's because the part be inside an assembly.

I suggest this should be more clearly stated.

I suggest:
a) a new section at the end (e.g after "appears as regular" "appears as extra"
"appears as counterpart") named "APPEARS INSIDE ASSEMBLIES"

b) enrich the text, from "2 in 1234-1(inv)"
"2 as assembly 4158c01(inv) in 1234-1(inv)"
giving us a way to see the assembly, plus go into its contents.

From the perspective of a very new buyer, there are too many status options available
to sellers.

In my situation, I instantly paid for an order. After a week, the seller updated
the order status from "paid" to "processing." As a result, I am unable to submit
a NSS complaint until 1 week after the seller updated the order status, even
though there has been no material change and the only action to date is my payment.
(And yes, I did reach out to the seller, but never received a response).

There is still 1 more day before the 2nd week expires, and the seller will have
the opportunity to use another of the many status options available to delay
the NSS complaint another week. I imagine this could continue and prohibit me
from ever initiating the NSS process.

My suggestion is that BrickLink change this functionality so that once an order
is "paid" a seller cannot update the status to earlier in the timeline. The
only options available after "paid" should be "packed" and "shipped." There
should be no reason for an order to be "processing," which indicates the seller
is creating an invoice, after the order has been paid.

Please make it easier to find local resellers by displaying the state abbreviation
in search results, and if possible add a search filter for states and provinces
of North America. For world wide, maybe add ability to sort by closest to your
post code. This would help on larger sets to reduce shipping costs and support
local businesses.

Please, please, please give us an option to select a default "Sort By" in the
Wanted Lists.
My preference is "Alphabetical" and I note others have asked for this before.
The reverting to "Newest" every time you leave and return to the page is really
tiresome.
For such a useful and clever website I can't believe this is not a do-able
thing.
Does anybody read these ?

hi i came to this looking up this item : 93549pb02

and i wanted to know if i could use it in a mock...
yet to my surprises there is no note to how tall or wide this thing is in plate
or bricks etc ....

it nicely says the actual size but that means nothing to me in my brick maths....

it would be handy if such items would be expressed in ex : cylinder 1x1x2??

now im stuck guessing before i have it in hand...

i know its a pain to ad this after the fact but it would be handy to have this
info before i buy...

dont know if there are many of these items honestly its the first time im wondering
this after using brick link for years...

sorry if this subject already came up

Hello,

if i will download my orders, i must set the from and the to date.

Can you please put some prefill Buttons at the dates with "last month", "this
month", this year", "Last year". If enough space, this and last week is also
ok.

Kind regards

Hello there.

I'd be shocked if this hasn't been requested. But why can't we have
a default setting for Items for Sale and set the seller location.

I'm not interested in "anywhere" and every time change this to my local region
australia. It's never not annoying to do this every time.

Any chance on improving the interface when it comes to coupons? Not only are
there regular forum questions on how to use them, I miss using them all the time
because of how the dropdown is not visible without me scrolling down on the Payment
page (and why would I even scroll down on that page?).

Why not streamline it like on Amazon? Make it automatic, but visible in the
checkout calculation on the right-hand side so that if you *don't* want to
use the coupon for whatever reason, it will be obvious that one is being applied.

I know there are global search settings, but they're only a few. I'm
in Germany and usually want to find parts from sellers in Germany, because of
shipping time and shipping costs.
So, by now, I have to activate "Ships from: Germany" every time I do a search.
Every time!

That is so annoying. My suggestion is: either make this a global search setting
or store my last settings in a cookie so that I don't have to select this
every time.
Thank you!

One of things I like to do from time to time is to assign those decorated parts
that have been added to the catalog but not added as counterparts to their appropriate
set.
For example:

Part No: 6178pb037 Name: Tile, Modified 6 x 12 with Studs on Edges with Star Wars Logo and 'R2-D2' Pattern (Sticker) - Set 75308
*
6178pb037 Tile, Modified 6 x 12 with Studs on Edges with Star Wars Logo and 'R2-D2' Pattern (Sticker) - Set 75308
Parts: Tile, Modified, Decorated {Black}
It was added Dec 8,2021 but it is currently not listed in 75308's inventory.
So an Inventory Change request would need to be made to list it as a counterpart
(I have since submitted the request). Now this is the easiest example as that
is the ONLY stickered piece in the set. Some sets have dozens that need to be
added. I have submitted requests for such sets only to find out someone else
had beaten me to it. Incredibly frustrating as the time I used, which can be
significant, turned out to be wasted. And you don't find out until the very
last step - at submission. And it doesn't flag all the pieces - only the
first one it finds in the list that had been already submitted. So you can have
20+ parts and it turns out only 1 or 2 haven't been submitted. Good luck
finding out which ones quickly.

What I would suggest is something similar to when someone has reserved a set
to inventory. You immediately know if a set has been reserved as it states on
its catalog page under 'Item Consists Of', 'Inventory in Progress'
or something similar. So is there a way to tag or reserve those parts that have
been submitted waiting for approval to their appropriate sets so that when you
go to its catalog page you can see a message like 'Pending Approval'
under 'Item Appears In'?

I know adding stickered counterparts is way down on the list for catalog priorities
so adding such a feature could save lots of duplicate work/time from submitters.
Especially since there is an apparent backlog of stickered counterparts waiting
to be approved.

Of course, if such a thing already exists, could someone point it out to me?

I'm sorry to say that the user experience on Bricklink is terrible. I'd
thought that the acquisition by The Lego Group would bring investment to improve
usability, but nothing has happened. It's immensely disappointing.

1. The search function seems to be geared around buying pieces, not simply searching
the database. Why does it bring up items for sale by default? Why does it order
search results in such a strange way by default?
2. Features for managing parts lists are poor. There's no ability to merge
lists that have parts in common (BL just complains that the parts already exist).
Indeed, it's not even possible to use the 'upload' function to upload
an xml file that has previously been downloaded from Bricklink. Despite that,
it is possible to use an xml file to create a new wanted list. This is obviously
completely unintuitive.
3. It's still not possible to order Bricks and Pieces from Bricklink. This
is such an obvious thing to do that it shouldn't need to be said.
4. Orders seem to be deleted from the order list after only a few months. Why
is this necessary?
5. It is not possible to automatically mark pieces as bought when they have been
ordered.

Please please separate buyer and seller addresses on a hybrid account.

Keep one main address set fixed on the account, but let sellers have the option
to use separate shipping addresses that do not have an impact on your store status.

I find it ridiculous that my store gets closed if I want to have something shipped
to another country.

Amazon, eBay, etc all have the option to change a shipping address.

Please implement this!

Hello. This is my first post. Be patient with me.

I would like to be able to mark a set as in my inventory. I would like to mark
individual bricks as in my inventory. I would like to go to a random set and
then this site lets me know if I have enough pieces in my inventory to build
that set.

(this is implemented on Peeron but not here, from what I can see)

Thank you.

Hi all,

Is it possible to add a sort option on seller in the Items For Sale tab on the
parts page?
At this point of time each color is seperately shown as intended.

As I am often looking for more colors of the same part it is convenient if I
can sort on seller. So I can easily see if a certain seller has more than one
color available.

Regards,
Dennis

I was rather disappointed when on a recent order I received a number of broken,
heavily damaged, and heavily discoloured parts, and was even more surprised when
the order showed that those parts were listed as such. Somehow I had purchased
a number of parts that I am quite literally going to throw straight in the bin.
I suspect I am not the first person this has happened to, and that I won't
be the last.

As far as I can tell, this happened because there is no visibility of the part
notes when shopping a wanted list. In my case, I shopped my wanted list with
~300 parts, and used the auto-select option. The store selection - both in the
confirm and edit views - doesn't show the part notes. To make matters worse,
the auto-select option will favour damaged parts because they are cheaper.

I then created the carts. When viewing the carts, notes are visible, but this
stage is too late to find out about bad parts, because rejecting them here means
having to re-select these from elsewhere. In other words, going back to store
selection, and potentially having to exclude stores or set a desired "new" condition
on those parts. It becomes a very manual process, and I probably don't want
new parts as they will stand out in a second hand set. Note also that the notes
are not highlighted in the cart view - the dimmer grey colour means its easy
to gloss over those.

It would be great if part notes where shown in the "confirm selection" and "edit
selection" modals when shopping a wanted list.

While we're at it, it would be great if there was a "damaged" part state,
to go with "new" and "used", as I definitely do not want damaged parts. Or perhaps
a grading?

I woud like to see the last known sellingprice for an item, no matter how long
ago it sold.
Now we can only see the sales from last 6 months and the items for sale.

But sometimes an item is no longer for sale and it has been more than 6 months
since a sale, I would still like to know what it was sold for.
Why? For my insurrance policy...

Is it an good idea to change it to what I suggest? How do I make it happen??

As you clean up the sight, things get renamed or re-categorized on the site,
but I'm not notified and can move the parts in my physical inventory boxes
accordingly.

"Wait, that part was Minifigures, Weapon, Spacegun. Now it's in Minifigures,
weapon, gun. And now I have to refund the customer because I can't find
it. Or what is currently a 1x1 Technic, Liftarm used to be in Technic and Technic,
Connectors."

Please, when you move something, tell us. Make a list.

Thanks,
Joshua

A website issue has been that sometimes a Category page opens with 20 items or
50 items and also it doesn't remember to stay with Thumbnail gallery.

Would you write a Cookie or Setting that remembers the preference?

Thanks,

These quick-links are very helpful in reducing the number of page loads when
adding items to your inventory or wanted list. It would be nice to bypass the
Part page and get strait to the good stuff.

At least the drive thru one. I use the drive thru after my order is delivered,
so "...has been shipped" does not jive with "...has been delivered"

I would like all of the message template subject lines to be editable for other
reasons.

The only related suggestion I could find with our fine search tools was:

https://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=282308&nID=1246983

If there are more or even discussions around this, please feel free to link them

The current BrickLink feedback system with all stores having unrealistically
high (80%) praise-ratings is inadequate from a buyers' perspective. When
evaluating stores, a buyer looks at 1) terms and conditions, 2) seller location,
3) store age, 4) number of completed transactions, 5) likelyhood to deliver all
parts, 6) quality of packaging, and 7) speed of service. The praise-percentage
rating as currently used cannot distinguish the stores delivering excellent service
from the mundane. There is no way to praise a store for good packaging, broad
sortiment, identification of different molds, fast delivery, or exceptional service.
There is also no way to express dissatisfaction in sortiment, slow service, missing
parts, poor packaging, unexpected condition/color of parts, unclear terms&conditions,
unexpected/hidden costs, or surprising shipment costs.

Non-paying buyers and non-shipping sellers have their own dedicated functions,
so these issues must not be part of the feedback system. The neutral feedback
response must assume that the buyer pays the invoice and the seller delivers
the merchandise. Any deviations (positive or negative) from this default expectation
can be considered measures of quality.

The new order feedback system is proposed to have 5 potential responses; Excellent
(Outstanding), Pleased (Good), Adequate (Neutral), Disappointed (Discontent),
and Apalled (Horrible). No feedback should imply an incomplete transaction.

Feedback older than 12 months must not affect the rating. Every Excellent order
rating must exactly counter an Apalled order rating. Every Pleased order rating
must exactly counter a Disappointed order rating. Excellent must improve rating
more than Pleased. Disappointed must reduce order rating more than Adequate.
A new store must not have an untruthful rating. A "perfect" rating should not
be achievable in practise.

Applying the standard solution (from polls and surveys) to this context, results
in the formula:

store rating = 100 * (2*E + P - D - 2*A) / (8 + 2*E + P + N + D + 2*A),

where E = number of orders marked Excellent, P = number of orders marked Pleased,
N = number of orders marked Adequate, D = number of orders marked Disappointed,
and A = number of orders marked Apalled.

The potential rating ranges from -100 to 100 with both extremes extremely difficult
to achieve. A new store starts with rating = 0 indicating that it is neither
good nor bad. If a store has constant ratio 1 of positives to negatives, then
the rating will increase slightly over time. A large number of neutrals will
push the rating back toward zero.

This proposed system would eliminate the misunderstandings regarding "praise"
in the present system, allow honest feedback, and relieve all sellers from fearing
neutral feedback or retaliation. Additional benefits include a rating able to
separate the great from the ordinary and a more accurate indicator of quality.

Following MANY discussions about this subject, and approving:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1327974
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1328054
(and others)

And guessing this has probably already been proposed, but anyway...

I propose a 0 + 5 Stars rating system.

In essence:
- 0 would correspond to "Zero service (or the current Negative)"
- 1 would mean "I received the minimal service"
- 2 to 4 stars would be something like "it's ok"
- 5 could be "exceptional".

Details:

* a transaction could be "feedbacked" either 0 (very bad) or more usually from
1 (minimum) to 5 stars (maximum)

* while selecting the feedback:
- selecting 0 (or not selecting anything) would be shown in Red
- selecting 1 would be shown in Gray
- selecting 2 to 4 would be shown in Green
- selecting 5 would be shown in Yellow/Gold

* in the feedback score
- no rating would count for NOTHING
- a rating of zero would count (as a Negative)

I think it would be FAR better than the current system:
* frankly unhappy
* frankly happy
* neutral (but which decreases the seller's score!)
* abstention

The previous feedbacks would be converted with this simple rule:
* Negative : 0
* Positive : 5
* Neutral : 3

Then a simple calculation can be made to determine the global feedback of the
member.

On 120 orders, 100 only received a (any) feedback:
- 100 x 5 stars = 500 / 500 = 100%
- 100 x 3 stars = 300 / 500 = 60%
- 100 x 1 stars = 100 / 500 = 20%
- 100 x 0 stars = 0 / 500 = 0%

Of course, at the beginning, we won't see many changes, as Positive receive
5 stars and Negative 0.

But the difference in between the current "95/98%" will start while receiving
new stars feedbacks.

Some will get more 1 or 2, others will receive more 4 or 5.

We'll see some member having 40/60% and some others 80/90%.

Hoping that helps.

I think it would behoove the online marketplaces to add labeling for PC versus
MABS Transparent LEGO elements. This would help builders and set restorers match
the color of the plastic since it is becoming apparent that the new MABS formula
is affecting the coloration significantly and consistently.

Just putting it out there, it would be a good idea to initiate this sooner than
later, as the color differences between the old Trans-Clear and new Trans-Clear
elements are quite stark. Should labeling options get into place early, it could
save a lot of work later on down the line as it becomes a growing discrepancy.

Play Well!

Hi Bricklink team!

For me this site is not only the ultimate LEGO database, but also the best trading
platform you could imagine.
The ONLY thing I am missing very much is a kind of inventory function for also
non sellers.

I would love to see a possibility to mark sets I own in the sense of a collection
I can easily see, access and share.

Maybe this was already requested many times and the solution is simply to register
as a seller, use the inventory and not sell the sets in stock somehow?!

If not, I'm very new here and without having contributed much to the community
yet, it is of course not my place to request new features.. so please take it
simply as an inspiration to make this wonderful website even greater.

Hi there,

I recognized during a wanted list order that there is no possibility now to upload
all the items that I have, so when I order through a wanted list the items that
I already have would be withdrawn from the order. Usually axels, 1x1 tiles, that
remains as an additional piece from big LEGO sets build up and it would be a
nice feature to reduce the unused items through having an own inventory. It is
quite impossible to do it manually when you have 2-3 hundred lots to crosscheck
those.

From programming standpoint it wouldn't mean too much modification as a simple
match should be run between a wanted list and the own inventory DB.

If I missed something and this feature is already available, just let me know

Cheers,
Levi

Hi

When paying for an order by clicking the "Continue to Paypal" button, the API
only provides a processing icon in the left corner of the browser tab. The suggestion
is to have a processing bar or change the mouse icon so that this step is more
visible. It is easy to think that the button click isn't working properly
causing your customers to click on the button multiple times, potentially causing
more than one payment or the payment process erroring out and forcing process
to be repeated.

With all the recent talk about when to leave feedback and concerns of retaliation
feedback for leaving honest feedback the best way I see to remedy that would
be to have a system where the buyer or seller can leave feedback at any time
but it won’t actually display the feedback for anyone to see until either:-

Both parties have left feedback for each other whereby the feedback is then revealed
at the same time!

Or if only one party leaves feedback the timescale for leaving feedback will
eventually expire revealing what has been left with no further opportunity for
retaliation!

At least that way both buyers and sellers can be confident of being able to share
their honest experience without the fear of jeopardising their own account for
doing so!

I just placed a big order of almost 500 pieces. After receiving it, I wish there
was a way to remove the pieces I now have from the wanted list. It seems really
time-consuming to go through and remove each item individually. Especially since
I have so many other pieces on the list.

Would be useful to have the phone number on the user profile and orders.

Couriers often use it to check if people is home or whether they can leave the
package to a neighbour.

Given we don't even have the tracking number, I basically have no way of
knowing whether the package was delivered to a neighbour or is still in transit.
