* Add 2 Part 52035c01 Black Motorcycle City with Black Chassis (Short Fairing Mounts) and Light Bluish Gray Wheels (Counterpart)
Comments from Submitter:
Nightwing's bike has a transparent sticker with his emblem on the front. Impossible to see on the sticker sheet in the inventory, but present on the box art and in every store listing picture. The only counterpart is the assembled bike, not a stickered version as with Catwoman's bike in 7779 with the cat eyes sticker.
Had to make the Qty "2" to allow the suggestion to be accepted - obviously it would go in as a different Counterpart entirely.
|
The proper procedure to add stickered Counterparts to BrickLink and a set inventory
is as follows:
(1) Add the stickered parts to the BrickLink catalog:
https://www.bricklink.com/wantedCatalog.asp?catType=P
Help on adding items to the BrickLink catalog:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=71
(2) Add images to the BrickLink catalog for the stickered parts:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogImageAdd.page?itemType=P
Help on adding images to the BrickLink catalog:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=87
(3) Fill out an Inventory Change Request to add the stickered parts to the set
inventory after they are approved by a Catalog Associate or Catalog Administrator:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvChange.asp?itemType=S
----------
The following videos are great tutorials for the process:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1191009
-------------
The request to add a plain part again instead of the stickered part cannot be
approved.

Similar thing for me: When I left the backwater where I grew up for uni, some
time in a previous century, I found out about this thing called internet, and
stumbled over T.S.Eliot in English literature courses. Putting both together
spawned the persona of stearns, eliot_stearns, or even Eliot T. Stearns, if naming

(The song is brilliant, I do prefer the Johnny Cash version though. )

| Hello.
I purchased some Cloud City minifigs and after examining them I noticed some
print issues on on Boba Fett. His left arm, left leg, and torso (black lines
are too far left) are off register. The right arm printing is off center. The
rest of the figs from the group seem fine except the head on Darth Vader, the
bags under his eyes are off center. All the parts are marked Lego except: Boba
helmet is marked inside top center with a “2”, and no mark on any of the blocked
open stud heads. The seller is no Lego expert, but knew some figures from this
set were valuable. He asked a fair price, and offered a full refund if they are
not real. I have seen other Lego torsos printed off register, so it’s not unheard
of, but due to the price I would appreciate the opinions of some seasoned Lego
fans.
Thank you in advance. Lia

If you find a rare figure in a job lot of lego, chances are it is a fake. Look
for the logo on the neck and legs.

The colors and printing do look terrible for Lego from that era (2013)

line. Is one of the versions exponentially rarer than the other or are their
values similar in price? Mine has the short line if that helps.

| Start mail fraud filings if he doesn't want to pay. Seriously contact a lawyer,
get him to send paypal and the customer a letter and start proceeding forward.
You can get him to pay all your costs, you'll just need the upfront costs.
$10,000 is felony theft. Treat it that way. File a police report in his city
as well. I'm just pressing theft charges and a nice visit from a police officer
might change his mind, if not then a letter of intent to sue definitely will.
In Help, tjones1 writes:
| This is a bit of a long story but I'm looking to see if anyone has any advice
as I'm at a loss of what to do regarding the loss of a PayPal chargeback
claim.
I opened my store a few months ago to sell off my collection of mainly sets new
in box. I received a very large order where the buyer ordered a little over 100
sets worth over $10,000 (cdn). As excited as I was to have such a large order,
I was also very cautious and hesitant about the size and value of the order and
did some background checks on the buyer. I ended up gathering enough information
and felt confident enough to proceed with the order. I packed everything up as
best I could, adding extra cardboard layers to the boxes and plenty of packing
materials to protect the sets during transit. I ended up shipping out 8 large
moving size boxes from west coast Canada to the buyer in the east Coast of the
US. The order was insured (for the delivery aspect) and I closely monitored the
tracking of each box. All 8 boxes ended up getting delivered and after two weeks
had gone by with no order status updated by the buyer on the bricklink order
page, I reached out to ensure everything had arrived. The buyer replied stating
3 of the sets had arrived damaged and requested they be returned and refunded.
I requested photos of the damaged sets along with the shipping box they were
in. The buyer only supplied photos of the damaged sets which consisted of crush
damage. From the pictures they provided to me, all 3 sets were still sealed and
were not punctured in any way. I agreed to take the 3 damaged sets back with
the return shipping to be covered at the buyer’s expense. In response, the buyer
did not want to pay for the return shipping and proceeded to file a PayPal claim
for the value of the 3 sets ($600) indicating they were not as described. After
going through the PayPal claim process it was eventually found in my favor. A
couple weeks then went by with no communication from the buyer until I received
notification from PayPal that the buyer has now submitted a chargeback with their
bank for "significantly not as described." I immediately submitted a response
with a detailed narrative, tracking numbers, photos and anything relevant to
the claim thinking it's for the 3 damaged sets again.
A month goes by with the full amount of the order on hold in my PayPal account.
I then get an email from PayPal indicating I lost the chargeback claim and my
account has been debited the full order amount. So now I am out over 100 sets
plus the $1500 it cost to ship these sets to the buyer. The buyer never once
indicated anything was wrong with the order other than the 3 damaged sets which
I agreed to take back and give a refund for. I immediately contacted PayPal and
they said it was out of their control as the buyer’s bank does the investigation
and my only option was to obtain from the buyer their banking contact information
and speak with their bank about the claim, or to take the buyer to court.
And because the chargeback claim was filed as “significantly not as described”
for the entire order, I was not eligible for seller protection. I contacting
the buyer and received a reply that they did not intent to “screw me over” but
they were too busy to deal with this right now and will sort it out by the weekend.
I’m really worried that the buyer will either ghost me or refuse to take any
action to pay for the items they received. As I live in Canada and they live
in the US I’m not even sure if I can take him to court or how that process would
even look like. I’m hoping someone in the community has some suggestions on
what steps I can take to get some funds back or at least to warn others of dealing
with PayPal and chargebacks.

| Like other said, keep adding more common parts (because this is mainly what buyer
will look for). The more specific parts from parted out sets will get longer
to sell. Because there's not a ton of people looking to buy these parts.
Also your 6 month average is a great start, you can always add a % sale if you're
not happy with the sales you make. I wish you good luck in your adventure.

I've called PayPal several times after the chargeback decision was made.
When I was first notified of the chargeback I submitted a reply within 48 hours.
I provided a detailed explanation of the order and previous PayPal claims, tracking
numbers for all 8 boxes, photos, shipment packing lists, customs form and bricklink
invoices. All PayPal could say was there was nothing they could do and deal with
the buyer now. I really don't think they gave anything to the buyers bank
when the chargeback claim was submitted, they just wiped their hands clean of
it.
|
At this point, the only way to reverse the chargeback is to come to some sort
of agreement with the buyer. Maybe an email to them to explain that you are happy
to refund them on the damaged sets and will send return labels and it would only
be fair for them to pay for the sets they received which are not under any dispute,
assuming they wish to keep these. I would make this email as nice and friendly
as possible and apologize a few times for the inconvenience, the hassle and you
want to make things right. The only person who can reverse the chargeback is
the buyer at this point, this is why Paypal is refusing to do anything further
. They want you & the buyer to work things out.

You won the case with Paypal, but if the buyer used a credit card on their Paypal
account then that's where the charge back came from. Usually chargebacks
go in favor of the buyer m, unless you can contact the credit card bank and talk
with someone there, see what is needed to fix it.
I think where the misstep happened is that you expected the buyer to ship the
damaged sets at their expense. In the future, not that this helps much here,
I would offer to pay for the return of the sets or ask the buyer if they would
accept a partial refund to keep them. Saves a lot of hassle, time and angst later.
As far as taking them to court, it may be hugely expensive. I would recommend
getting some legal advice to see if there is any way to proceed or whether this
qualifies for some kind of fraud. I am really sorry this happened to you .
|
Call PayPal and explaine the situation.
Your can give a comment on the claim.
Take pictures from the package you have to ship.
Don't let anyone strak your money and protect yourself.
Good Luck.

For early 2000s Lego, often times having a perfect print is more uncommon than
a misprint. That sort of factory error is perfectly normal for the era. If you
have any of the early 2000s EP. II clone troopers or "moustache" storm troopers,
you can see that it's hard to find two that are alike.
From everything I see, the boba fett figure and the vader head look perfectly
legitimate. The "2" inside the helmet matches the one I have from a Jabba's
Prize set I opened from new. Those jetpack helmets weren't stamped with the
Lego logo.
|
Can attest to this. My Jango Fetts from 7153 always come with varying helmet
print. I've cycled through a few now trying to get one with the best helmet
possible, but sometimes a 7/10 is the best that's out there!

Yes, it's unfortunate that this situation occurs, as it suppresses sincere
cautious feedback for a seller who appears to make mistakes. That said, retaliatory

The seller's response is just as likely to make themselves look bad as the

Either way, they are clearly not professional in their response to the error.

Seller's can do as they please - rightly or wrongly, just as much as you
can un-favorite a store (which I suggest you do in this case).
I found I was banned from a store I'd never visited, let alone purchased.
I discovered that the seller had disliked a post I made (that had absolutely
nothing to do with him personally, or his store) about Lego going "greener" and
he stop-listed me simply for that.
I also got stop-listed by a German store after a package (containing 3 SW mini-figs)
he claimed to have sent never arrived. Strange that the exact same figs were
still in his store weeks later, but that could just be a coincidence.
Anyway, move on. You got a refund. There are plenty more sellers that would value
your custom - choose them instead.

| I got sent 11 Light Bluish Gray pieces instead of Light Gray in a 500-piece order.
They aren't particularly rare or expensive pieces either, but in the
giant pile of Light Gray I got sent, it's obvious they aren't the right
color. When I brought this up with the seller, they were like "I know what LBG
looks like when I see it, so I'll refund but I'll have to ban you."

In this case the 2493 should be removed from the inventory. Based on previous
change requests and several sealed sets, it looks like sets at the time always
came with 2493a, and 2493 does not specify the stud type anyway (so we will maybe
add a proper 2493b entry for the variant with hollow studs in the future).

In addition to what has been said above, I saw that you have the same part in
the same condition listed in different lots, sometimes even at different prices.
This is not something that affects sales positively.

Some really good tips there. I had heard it was important to get large quantities
but I didn't realise it was that much of a factor. ATM I just part out the
sets using the 'average 6 months sales' prices? How does that sound?
Or would you recommend doing that and then adding a 10% sale or something to
make my prices more competitive.

Hi Jared,
6 Months sales average is a good starting point. If you're not getting acceptable
sales levels in, say, a fortnight, even with what you deem to be decent quantity,
then consider taking your prices down by 5-10%. And again, checking for competitive
pricing from the perspective of a buyer on a like part of like colour and quantity
is always a good idea. This way, you minimise the risk of both overcharging and
shorting yourself.

6 month average has served me well!
I've only ever done sale's twice as I wasn't sure how much difference
they actually made as everything sells eventually.
10% off - made no noticeable difference to the amount of orders received.
20% off - made a very noticeable difference!!!

I realize that it says that the parts are from a sealed set and that the plane is buildable by substituting 2 1x4 for the 2x4 supplied in the set but that is not what the instructions pictures show. please be aware that i am new to these older sets, but so far everyone that i have completed so far has matched instructions. please advise

Viejos changed these bricks from 12 to 11 back in 2009 and after that confirmed
the inventory based on a sealed set.
It could be an instruction mistake, for
instruction does show 11 bricks 2x4 and 4 bricks 1x4.

Can you claim on the insurance ? especially if the buyer says the boxes were
crushed?
|
Yes I can attempt a claim for the 3 damaged sets which the buyer provided me
pictures of but that would only cover $600. The rest of the order (99 sets) were
received without any indication of problems and not be covered as there is no
proof that it was damaged or lost.
|
Does your insurance cover you for damage where it is down to inadequate packaging?
If it was damaged by the postal service, they might well want to see the packaging
as if that arrived undamaged and it was only only boxes inside that were damaged
they are likely to deny responsibility saying they should have been better protected
inside the shipping box.

I was also very cautious and hesitant about the size and value of the order and
did some background checks on the buyer. I ended up gathering enough information
and felt confident enough to proceed with the order. I packed everything up as

US. The order was insured (for the delivery aspect)
|
Can you claim on the insurance ? especially if the buyer says the boxes were

and I closely monitored the
| tracking of each box.

In hindsight, yes, I probably could have handled this one a bit differently.
I don't have great deal of experience selling on bricklink and was initially
hesitant to even accept the return. But I did some reading though the forums
on similar situations and read many people would take the item back if the buyer
was willing to pay for the shipping. I had considered offering a discount back
but the buyer was pretty adamant about getting a refund. I believe the buyer
was a reseller and didn't want to try sell damaged products from their store.

| I have my store set to only show instant checkout to new buyers and every so
often , I get a message from a 0 feedback buyer that they cannot check out in

the page and then try to check out- it should work.
The problem is that rarely do these buyers stick around and actually purchase,
then I am left with the setting turned off and that invites some problem buyers
who never pay . I would prefer to leave the setting alone and then send the new
buyer some sort of password to bypass the setting. Is there a way to do that
?
For the seasoned (not new ) buyer, I offer both manual and IC , so it's really
only an issue for the 0 feedback ones. Am curious how other sellers handle this
and if you turn off the setting, how long do you leave it off - my rule is usually
3 days. I've tried messaging the buyers & sending emails directly, none of
it works as they rarely respond.
Thanks for any and all ideas

Alex is absolutely correct. With more common parts, like the 3001 (2x4 brick)
or the 3039 (2x2 slope 45 deg), quantity is what drives customers to your store,
particularly if the part is of a common colour such as red, blue, or black. With
more uncommon colours such as yellow-green or dark brown, larger parts, or more
unusual parts such as quantity is of decreasing importance. I learned
this in a query I posted only yesterday.
I have found that, for the common parts in more common colours, a minimum quantity
of 50 works best. This is why Alex mentioned buying multiples of the same set,
if possible.
Pricing is a bit more tricky, and the best counsel here is born of experience.
That being said, every part on BrickLink and in every colour that it comes (or
ever came) in has a Price Guide tab, which for me is most helpful. I pay closest
attention to average price, both for what is currently available and last 6 months
sales data. Bear in mind that the data differentiates between New and Used parts
of the same type and colour. For a new store, while the prospect of glittering
riches may beckon, I would not recommend pricing any part of a particular colour
over the average price, especially if it is a common part in a common colour.
For my own store, I tend to go 5-10% lower than the average price in such cases.
If the price guide is too painful, simply look up the part and colour in question
as if you were a prospective buyer. That way, you can see what other sellers
are charging. And don't overlook quantity when researching price.
Hope that this was helpful,
- Pat
