came out 2 years after the other sources for that minifig. If I had
to guess, that set came with the updated head and it was never noticed.

It is mainly marketing. You present a complete minifig for sale and people want
that. Most people are not wanting to go find all the parts, even if a store
has them all.
I have occasionally parted a minifig out and had someone buy all of the pieces,
but it is very uncommon.

I am taking a conservative approach out of politeness, but I think admin should consider marking twn063 for deletion and making a straight replacement. All other browns in the inventory are reddish brown and the set came out well after the palette change, so I suspect that this was always a mistake.

| was recently added to simplify a lot of listings and make it easier
for monochrome collectors to find parts. I believe it is very sensible. I collect
a slightly different thing. Monochrome torsos with yellow hands. They are extremely
common in 80s minifigs and still in creator sets. Like the monochrome it is
a little difficult to find what all is available. Could we consider making a
unified listing for these as well? They would collect over a dozen listings
into one.

I am doubtful that this 2005 minifig ever came with brown hair. The set comes with reddish brown suitcase and broom and 2 other minifigs with reddish brown hair.
I missed the color when I sorted out the set, but I was working on minifig pics today and I found the reddish brown hair and set it aside because I believed it was misplaced, but it was where my brown one ought to be and my brown one was missing. When I looked into it, I could not account for the presence of a reddish brown piece other than that it came in this set.

FWIW, in the set picture the hair looks twisted to the side. Does that work?

Actually, I made an inventory control error which caused me to grab the wrong
hair piece. Similar but not correct. I found the correct one and it works just
fine.

My sales went up a lot last year, possibly attributable to the sale giving Bricklink
higher profile, but it is hard to account for the pandemic variable. There was
always a winter uptick presumably tied to Lego fans spending more time inside
and that would certainly extend through last summer even though the weather was
nice.

You are correct about the grammar. However, “less” is very commonly used this
way in the United States. Much more commonly than “fewer”. There is a fuzzy
line between poor grammar and a language evolving. They’re/there/their is clearly
on one side of the line for me, as an example, but less/fewer doesn’t bother
me.

I bought this figure in the Lego store in Munich already assembled, but this variation has a different head. Otherwise, the figure is the same. So type is alternate.

As Bret said, minifig inventories cannot have alternate parts. Therefore this
request cannot be accepted.
The real question is, how should we continue with this minifigure entry? It looks
like it is often available with the head which is currently in the inventory
(although this is a "strange" head). But from time to time it comes assembled
with a different head and we don't know which is the intended head or if
there is one indended head at all.
We could keep the inventory and add a note that the figure has been found with
different heads in some stores.
Or we could delete the inventory and mark the figure for deletion because there
are too many possibilities in regards to the head and we don't know which
one is correct.
What does the community think about this?

As soon as it hit the catalog, I bought the first one on BrickLink, but I did
not inventory it because I could not determine if there was a “correct” head.

The convention I had been following with Randy is that sets in this era were inventoried without knowledge of 4032b. The inventory was later corrected with B which is also what I got, but it is questionable now whether "a" was ever there. If someone can add it back with evidence they should.

So there are actually three versions?

I don't know anything about it but what you can see there, but my read is
that it is an incomplete split. I think there are just two, but no inventories
were ever updated and the original was not marked for deletion.
I'm also not sure whether the color variations are actually different colors
or quality control issues.

The difference between them is not obvious to me either, but their items numbers
as A and B suggests that the submitter knew they were very similar but there
is some difference.

The difference between them is not obvious to me either, but their items numbers
as A and B suggests that the submitter knew they were very similar but there
is some difference.

I found a new vintage minifig!
I didn't get a pic of the tap. I thought I checked everything before opening the bag and then found that afterward.
My set actually had the stretcher with wheels so I don't really have evidence here, but I strongly guess that if you got the variant stretcher without hinges you wouldn't get the wheels.

| I was able to mine 3 pics for the Stage 1 Kraata from the current listing, but
for each tail color variant to be approved to the catalog they will need a pic.

The final listing title would look like this:

| I have no idea what a kraata is, but are they random packed in sets? Sounds
like there aren't a lot of variations. So why don't we just add all
the variations to the catalog and make them alternates in sets?

It would be greatly appreciated if a different system for listing Kraata (and/or
other dual color molded parts) could be implemented. BIOSector has detailed descriptions
of each Kraata color pairing, which in theory should make it easy to create a
drop down menu based on the head and tail colors.
As an example:
Say I have a stage 1 Kraata that has a metallic green head. I select “Stage 1”,
then “Head Color: Metallic Green/Lemon Metallic.” (Listing the most common name
for the color and then the official LEGO name for that color). Then I click “Tail
Color:” and am presented with a short drop-down list of possible tail colors,
which in this instance are “Lime/Bright Yellowish-Green”, “Dark Green”, “Metallic
Blue/Sand Blue Metallic”, “Red/Bright Red”, and “Dark Grey Metallic”. (These
are the only 5 tail colors that are paired with a metallic green head.)
The final listing title would look like this:
“Stage 1 Kraata: Lemon Metallic Head, Bright Yellowish Green Tail”
Implementing a system like this would ensure that sellers clearly disclose both
colors of the item before posting, rather than being able to list only the stage
and head color and ignore the instruction to “describe the rest.” Many Kraata
listings do not describe the rest of the item; in fact, many of them leave the
description blank, making their listing functionally worthless. Unless I contact
each and every one of those sellers to ask about their one specific item, there
is no way for me to know if it is an item I am interested in.
As a result, a great many items that people have listed in hopes of selling get
passed over and ignored, due primarily to seller error, but it would be really
helpful to us collectors and customers to be able to get a clear and standardized
system in place to help us make informed purchases.

Today the last bug was fixed for the new Packing Dimensions Project, Phase 1.

A full 7 months before the April 6 release of this feature, on Sep 6 of last
year I opened a new Forum Topic called Packing Dimensions X, to make it easier
to handle the large backlog of requests that had built up earlier in the year.
When I opened the topic, I actually asked people NOT to contribute except when
necessary:

As a matter of consideration, please don't add dimensions for parts with
every side under 20mm.
And then on Oct 6, I asked for the following:

...until we get a tool that goes through the normal approval channels (which
is coming in the next few weeks), please do not submit measurements for an entire
set of [300] decorated parts...
However, now that the tool is ready to use, I would like to officially remove
all restrictions from submitting Packing Dimensions. We are planning to open
up some other forms and give you some handy filters to find missing dimensions
- this will be in Phases 2 and 3. But for now, the paved road is finally open,
so drive on through!
I'd also like to include a little chart showing the effect of releasing this
tool (see Image 3). And we still have 4 more days to go in April.

I just opened this set for the second time and didn't expect a surprise, but I got trans-orange. That is what is shown on the box. And I just looked at the pics from last time (posted here) and they were trans-orange last time too. I HOPE it was one of the earlier ones and I was not used to the new color yet. I had one as a kid and then paid very little attention to Technic for a long
time. I was surprised 5-6 years ago to learn that they were long gone and really
were only released over a pretty short span of time.

| I am a curious person. I am curious about this and think it is natural to be.
I am also often frustrated by obituaries that almost never tell what happened.
No, we don't DESERVE all the details, but I totally understand why people
would be curious.
I have enjoyed many collaborations with Stormchaser. He knows how I feel about
him. Whether on staff or not in the future, I hope he will continue to contribute.
If his life has changed and he doesn't have the time, maybe he will return
later. If his feelings have been hurt and he needs some time or never wants
to come back, I understand that. There is still a lot of work to do on the catalog,
but at the end of the day none of us do it unless it is fun. Some day I will
quit. Not soon, I think. Meanwhile there are some ugly old renders and some
some undetermined coconut trees, so I'm going back to work.

Also I have a total of 3 helmets and 4 technic figs in my collection.
However, the only sets with technic figs I ever owned is this one and 8855, which comes with one fig with one helmet.
So two helmets left for this set.

I know it looks strange right now, but I got from another set and
was able to created for the catalog. But to get and
, I will have to find this rare, valuable set at a price I can manage.
If/when that happens, they'll all get straightened out.

I added these as variants when I got the set before, but I think it was a mistake. I got it again and got the same ones and the ones I got are Clikits only colors that probably didn't exist when the original inventory was done. I think they were just never updated.
