Proposal for extension of the catalog.

I think there is a very big market for monochrome minifigures. So far, these
are considered custom items.
I would like to suggest establishing a separate category for monochrome minifigures
in the "standard version" of all colors.

For example "Minifigure Monochrome - white".

I look forward to your estimation and feedback

Hi
I don't know if this had been on this forum before, but I really get irritated
by the fact that there is a default shipping (and payment) method preset.

Over and over buyers select the wrong shipping method because this is the default
option. So order a small object for 12 euro and choose parcel track&trace @ 32,50
for shipping. This means I first have to ask them if this is really the option
they want, wait for their answer, correct shipping method etc.

Or in a less extreme example send out the invoice and get buyers who are upset
about the high shipping costs.

Today at least 5 out of ten orders have what looks a not quite logical shipping
method chosen by the buyer. If I make another method default it won't change
this, buyers will select letter untracked for a 2 kg worth 200 euro shipping.

Maybe I do something wrong, so first let me ask if there is a method to let buyers
FORCE to make a choice about shipping (and payment!!) and if this is not possible
PLEASE make it possible to sellers NOT to have the default shipping and payment
method pre-selected in their shop.

As a buyer I also sometimes make the mistake to click to fast and bypass the
option to change the shipping and payment methods. So I understand this happens
and I don't blame my buyers. (but the system...)

So it will be much less frustration for both buyer and seller.

Sorry if this is a silly question for which there is a simple solution, and so
there will be one thanks for telling me how I should change the setting.

Hi

Part No: x1687 Name: Train Wheel RC Train, Metal Axle
*
x1687 Train Wheel RC Train, Metal Axle
Parts: Wheel, Accessory

is in Wheels - Accessory --- totally understandable

Part No: 2878 Name: Train Wheel RC, Holder
*
2878 Train Wheel RC, Holder
Parts: Wheel

is in Wheels.

It states its a holder, it won't move on its own !! Its not a wheel !!
Should it not be considered in the next batch of items to be moved, and move
it to Wheels Accessories

Thanks

I have several wanted lists with separated between a few different purposes and
I would like to be able to search in a subset of them, the same way it's
possible to select all or only some wanted lists in the Buy page.

Wanted list and Order lists currently are sorted differently for item name and
color name.

As a result, it's been inconvenient to match parts from order placed to wanted
lists.

Example for item name:

Given a "Plate 1 x 8" and a "Plate 1 x 10":
- In wanted lists, "Plate 1 x 10" will appear before "Plate 1 x 8" (strict alphabetical
order)
- In order lists, "Plate 1 x 8" will appear before "Plate 1 x 12" (correct numerical
order)

Example for color name"

Given a "Reddish Brown" part and a "Pearl Gold" part:
- In wanted lists, the "Reddish Brown" part will appear before the "Pearl Gold"
part (plain colors first like in color selection drop down lists)
- In order lists, the "Pearl Gold" part will appear before the "Reddish Brown"
part (strict alphabetical order)

Now, I don't mind either of these couple of ordering (although I have a personal
preference for correct numerical order for item names and plain colors first)
but I'd like for both ordering to be consistent across the whole BrickLink
website.

Thank you for your consideration!

I think it would be useful to sort the wanted list by the quantity of items that
still need to be purchased = MAX(MINQTY - QTYFILLED, 0)

I have a very, very large model of a cathedral. I originally designed it in LDD
18 years ago and now updating it in stud.io.

The cathedral has a balcony with railings. I've created a couple of custom
parts for the railings to fit around the columns... the presence of these railings
in my IO file blocks the upload to my wanted list because they are not genuine
parts available through BL.

I'd like to see those parts ignored... or at least an option to do so.

I know there's the workaround of going through the IO file and deleting them
to upload. But my file has over 46000 parts, these custom parts are embedded
several layers deep in multiple sub-sub-sub-models... which means they're
difficult to find because stud.io doesn't have a fully function find-replace
mechanism (I and plenty of others have requested it, and requested that it work
with sub-models as well as main model).

This is still a work in progress, so I'm not really wanting to delete them
because re-instating them is going to be a pain. Plus with the size of the model
stud.io doesn't behave quite as it should anyway because of all the memory
leaks in it (which is going to affect any attempt to copy-paste the file then
delete the custom parts in the copy)...

PS. I'm sure I've requested this before, but for the life of me cannot
find it. stud.io isn't the only thing with memory leaks

Had a thought about the previous discussion where it is quite confusing currently
for processing refunds for US states that have collected sales tax. As it stands,
the refund box has us enter an amount, and then below it calculates the amount
that will come from the seller/PayPal, and the amount from the taxes BrickLink
collected, so a seller has to know the rate of tax for the state of the buyer
and also include it in the total.

Suggestion:
-Beside the box where you enter the refund amount, include a "tax inclusive"
and "tax exclusive" radio button where the seller can select it.

This would allow sellers to not have to know the rate of state for the state
and manually calculate it by selecting "tax exclusive", meaning the calculation
below will take that amount, and ADD tax to the total (not as a % of the total
the seller put in).

But this also allows what Niek (qwertyboy) had suggested where if you want to
give a higher total amount, you can check tax inclusive so it'll act the
way that it's currently programmed.

Spellcheck loves to tell you the game of a figure, part or code isn’t a word.
I assume the dictionary is local to devices so maybe don’t allow spellcheck to
overwrite key search fields?

I know that suggesting new features might mean hitting a wall, but here we go.

As the Catalog Admins only accept pictures of items in colors that are not in
inventories if the part is in hand, then update the known colors list with this
data.

Also, this might tie with an update to be able to find parts that have a color
image from this page: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp (now, if they
are not in a inventory they don't show up.)

And even further, show the selected color image not the standard one...

Hope this is read by a BL Dev someday
