What is the difference between medium blue and sand blue ?
Is there a light blue somewhere in between those two?

Do wedge shapes ever come in two colors on the same piece at the same time? Like
light gray all over or light bluish gray and then black on front edge and
ahorestest side? Or is it more likely the piece would have to be colored on to
achieve this? Top and rest of the piece would be which ever shade of gray it’s
ment to be?

Recently someone on an AFOL blog posted a rather cryptic bombshell that Brickheadz
and Dimensions were allowed exclusive access to certain elements (part+color).
It didn't go into any real detail, asked that you not ask how the author
came to know this game-changing piece of information, and left it at that. When
the subject came up again in a way that didn't really support the original
claim, and I asked for clarification, my post was deleted, the original text
from the previous article was deleted, and the only explanation left labelled
the original claim both "contradictory" and an "insight". I don't expect
to get a clear answer there, so I'm asking here:

Does anyone know of any rule that Brickheadz (and before it Dimensions) can call
up elements that nobody else can use?

My understanding is that if you design a set that needs a Glow-in-the-Dark 2x4
brick, then as long as you've covered the cost of getting it into production
under your budget, any other set designer has access to that element for free,
basically. According to the original claim, it sounded like those two themes
could potentially bring a GitD 2x4 brick into existence, and every other theme
would be prohibited from using it.

Ok I'm having a colour problem. I have a 8434 Aircraft set which is missing
some parts.
In the picture you can see three distinct colours. On the left are "dark bluish
gray" blocks for reference. In the middle are some replacement pieces which are
meant to be "pearl dark gray" but are not the same as the far right pieces which
are from the aircraft set. They defintely are "pearl dark gray".
The thing is, that type of "panel fairing" comes in pearl dark gray or dark
bluish gray only. It is not listed as existing in the old shade of dark gray
which it appears to be. Same goes for the 1x2 liftarms in the picture.
The colour is consistant over the whole piece, it isn't faded or discoloured.
It doesnt havethe same amount of texture that the "pearl dark gray" on the far
right do, but then again it seem to have a bit of shine to it that a regular
old "dark gray" piece doesn't have. So i guess my question is, is there a
known large varation of the colour of the "pearl dark gray" pieces?

Does this part exist in red?

Bracket 1 x 2 - 1 x 2
99781
Red

Because there is no evidence of it in the catalogue. But then why there is a
picture showing it in that color? Where did it come from? Can anyone help me?
Thank you very much

Hey all!

Busy uploading bunches of parts when I came across 4x 4095, but they are in Dark
Grey?
According to the catalog, this part has never been released in DG.

Where does this piece come from? Is it real Lego? I have not found any fake lego
in the bunch.

Thanks!

Two versions, they look both Pearl Gold to me but one is clearly darker and the
other lighter, which one is Pearl Gold? The darker or the lighter version?

Many thanks!

Is there an easy way to tell which brick is Brown and which Reddish Brown? I've
tried different things, under a lightbulb, halogene light, sunlight... I just
don't see it... please help!

Hi,

This does not look a like a normal color range to me, but unfortunately I only
have the two pieces to compare.

The one on the right - is it WAY too bright, or still 'OK'?

Is there any resource that describes the slight color variations of new LEGO
parts.

For instance, I know that there are two distinct shades of Dark Red and two distinct
shades of Reddish Brown.

I swear that there are two different yellows (official LEGO color: Bright Yellow)
but this is a very subtle difference, if it exists at all.

I don't expect sellers to sort the parts by these slight variations. As a
buyer, however, I would like to be able to confirm that yes, these parts I just
ordered are all Pearl Gold, despite the fact that I can see two different hues
when I dump the bag of parts on my sorting table.

Ryan Howerter's color guide on Flickr is quite helpful, but it seems to me
that the Bricklink catalog could include a brief comment when there are more
than one acceptable variations of the same color. And by "acceptable," I mean
that these are color variations produced by LEGO under the same color name.

I've been collecting different Lego colours, 3001 bricks and rare(ish) parts
for a while and now I have a fair collection put away in a draw I'm thinking
of the best way to store them. I'd like to have them on display somewhere
but have limited space for that. If I had my way I'd mount them onto large
baseplates and put them on the wall like pictures, but not sure I'd get away
with that.

Just wondering how other Lego colour / oddity parts collectors store or display
theirs.

Hello all.

I'm stumped with 3 colours from a batch of duplo I got yesterday.

The 2 2x2 (same colour) I think are medium violet
The 2x2 and 2x4 (same colour) I think are violet

The single 2x2 I think is light turquoise

I'm asking for help as these colours are rare and I don't want to list
until I'm sure.

Unfortunately I don't have any of these colours in stock or my collection
so I cannot confirm myself.

Thanks in advance
David

Hi,

I am looking at the known colors for part 3001, cause I want to update my set
of example color bricks, there are much more in the price guide info than known
colors...

E.g. Trans-Clear is not a known color for part 3001, how is that possible?

Part No: 3001 Name: Brick 2 x 4
*
3001 Brick 2 x 4
Parts: Brick

Thx,

I wonder if any colour gurus can help me with this 2x4 brick. The closest I can
pin it to is Medium Violet, I've attached a picture (top right brick)to try
and show the colour the best I can. I'm aware there are two Medium Violets
out there, a Lilac and Medium Bluish Lilac and wondering if it could be one of
these. The lamp post is Violet for reference. Any help would be appreciated
as it's a head-scratcher.

I realize this is recognized as a difficult one and probably even harder through
the internet, but I was hoping for some advice/strategy on confidently tell the
different on the rubbery Bionicle pieces. I parted out a set that has a vast
number of variants and my gut is saying Pearl Light Gray.

If they were Flat Silver, would they pretty well match the hard plastic flat
silver pieces I get now? I have a lot of those. But I don't have a strong
familiarity with Pearl Light Gray.

Hello!

I'm working on adding a lot of used Lego and I'm trying to identify a
color.

The part is a round brick 1x1 (3062b), and it appears to be flat silver. I've
compared it to new parts already in my inventory, and it really looks like that
color. It's definitely not metallic silver, at least compared to other metallic
silver parts in my new inventory.

My issue is that this does not appear to be a known color for this part. The
part certainly appears to be actual Lego, so I don't think that's the
issue. I just don't want to add something to my inventory incorrectly.

Opinions? I'm tempted to just chuck those ones in the donation box rather
than mess with it, since it's only a couple of pieces. But I'm intrigued
as well.

Thanks!

Ann

I found this in my inventory last week. The first is these new brackets. The
brick with clip is normal Dark Bluish Gray, the bracket on the bottom is normal
Light Bluish Gray. The two in the middle, well, ???. I know this happens when
they change colors in the molding machine, I just never saw two with that much
difference before

The second is a slope I found and I can't really explain the speckle. It
is a LEGO part, seems to be mostly Light Bluish Gray. When I looked at it through
a loop, as you can see here, it has small shafts of black. I would expect round
beads, but not shafts.

Does anyone know how the slope got speckled?
Anyone interested in owning them?

Donna

So I have been going through a small packet of these:

Part No: 6246f Name: Minifigure, Utensil Tool Oil Can - Smooth Handle
*
6246f Minifigure, Utensil Tool Oil Can - Smooth Handle
Parts: Minifigure, Utensil

And I come across a colour that I cannot identify.

The left oil can is of a colour that is darker than either old dark grey or dark
bluish grey. Yet it is not black. So what is it?

Apologies if the colours don't come through very well; I took the photo in
bright outdoor light, with the Texas sun at just after high noon. If that isn't
natural light, then anyone's guess on that definition. Background is a sheet
of white foam-board.

Gurus of LEGO colour, I call upon you.

I am looking for gray bricks and part, but anywhere I look people only sell dark
or light bluish gray instead of regular gray parts. Why is that? Where are the
good old light gray parts? Why did regular gray become so rare?

The darker ones here are what I am more used to seeing. These came from 3 of
a set and the inventory says lime. One set is very different, but is it a different
color officially?

I think these bands are x88 but don't come up in known sets. Does anyone
have any of these and could tell me what colour they are or where they could
even come from. They came in a batch of all used Lego parts and no non-Lego
so if they are not genuine they are the only items from the whole batch. They
look Magenta or Dark Pink and also slightly trans. Thanks.

I just noticed that my Ninja - Samurai, Red Young has a white headband instead
of the usual gray one. Is this a catalog error or a misprint?

Hey all!

I have three tiles of 3069bpb005, but all the colours of the gold pieces are
different.

Is this the yellow coming off? The middle tile still shines. The one on the right
looked like the black ink smudged a little in the print.

Hope someone can help.
