Select any color in the Known colors column, on the next page it shows
always the same color item image.

Even though the text states the color selected.

BrickLink... please show the image of the color selected.

Thank you.

I've tried several colours but can't reproduce what you see.

there is an option to print a set's inventory but not for wanted lists.

In Classic view you can print a Wantlist

i have one suggestion that i think all would greatly appreciate. the function
capability to isolate and block individual sellers. what i mean is to make it
where if you have unsatisfactory service, you the buyer, can highlight the specific
seller and put him on your own block list. much like facebook. so that way, you
no longer see the seller when you search for future lego products. for the bad
shops will be filtered out and you wont see them.

Already exist. It's called the Least favourite list.

i just had an order that i
cancelled. i was instructed to go thru paypal and enter all their info in order
to buy their products. instead of going thru bricklink to get thru to paypal.
in other words, they wanted to circumvent the percentage you guys make when each
sell happens. so i refuse to let them circumvent and cut you out.

Actually you're wrong here. Sending a PayPal payment manually is quite normal.
It's the instant checkout causing confusion.
There's absolutely no fee circumvention here. Sellers are billed separately
and pay their fees monthly.

pretty sure they will give me a bad review. dont care. i believe in being honest

Why are you rewarding a helpful seller with a neutral. You should retract the
Feedback.
It will get you on some stoplist or on the Notes on members page.

but i find it frustrating that i have to write down each bad seller and have to review my
own list before buying. that is timeconsuming. appreciate it!

Check your buyer settings.

For a long time, there has been a lot of new buyers with (0) feedbacks ordering
from my store but ended up not paying, which I have to manually cancel the order
after a few weeks or so. Sometimes Bricklink charges me service fee across the
month for these orders that are not paid and not shipped, which I have to wait
for a refund the next month after the order is cancelled, resulting in me paying
for things upfront without the necessity of it.

I am getting frustrated about new users making orders but not paying. It is a
burden for me (spending time calculating shipping cost and handling fee, sending
invoice, being billed by Bricklink) ending up to no avail. Sure, I could leave
a negative review on these buyers, I could ban them one by one... but what's
the point when they can easily make another fresh account and do the same thing
over and over again.

Enable instant checkout in your store.
Add a shipping cost table to your Shipping policy.
And complete the NPB process instead of just cancelling the order, if they don't
respond.

To deal with this, I have 3 suggestions:

1. I vaguely remember there was an option to disallow buyers below certain points
to buy from my own stop... it was probably Yahoo auction or somewhere else I
don't really remember... But I think this should be an option for sellers.

It's still there, check the checkbox in the store settings settings'Disallow
members with negative feedback score to buy from my store'
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/management.page
However this only blocks -1 etc feedback buyers and doesn't block 0 feedback
buyers.

You can redirect the new buyers to my store. We all start at 0.

2. Perhaps the system has to make it even more clear that one legally HAS to
pay after clicking Order. Because apparently, people don't read anymore,
even warnings.

3. Charge sellers after the order has been paid, not when they are made. Imagine
if someone made a fresh spam account, orders EVERYTHING from my store but not
paying for weeks. I will end up with getting charged by Bricklink, and my sales
hindered because they are off the shelves. And said buyer will suffer from little
or no consequences whatsoever.

I hope changes will be made to secure sellers from such unfair treatment.

From your Terms:'To avoid additional PayPal fees, all buyers are encouraged
to "Send Money to friends and family" in PayPal.'
You really can't 'encourage' buyers to pay as friends or family for
goods.

This has been suggested before.
The problem is that sets are not inventoried by booklet or bag but by part.

The workaround is to part put a set a set partial in a Wantlist by adjusting
parts to the quantities according the booklet.

of space free on the page, & this would make inadvertently clicking the wrong
button less likely.

People will click incorrectly no matter where a button is located.

You can add items in the cart to a Wantlist.

I know there is the option to "Apply Order" to a wanted list. However I want
to play around a bit with my wanted lists to figure out the best prices before
I start the actual ordering.

You can use the Buy tab search option a few times over and over, create a cart
each time, then compare the carts on multiple browser tabs.
Unfortunately the Buy feature doesn't allow to do multiple searches because
after it finds a store and you create a cart you need to go back again and search
again.

Or use the classic view By Shop option to find the stores with the most parts
and to create multiple carts. https://www.bricklink.com/wantedShop.asp?showOld=Y

That is annoying me and there should be a way for a buyer to block a seller in

Why can't we do what they do in some sporting events - throw out the lowest

When I leave positive buyer feedback it usually results in one of three basic
messages:
One general message thanking the buyer for the order,
One thanking new buyers and welcoming them to BL,
One thanking repeat customers.

It'd be great if we had some options at the feedback screen to just select
from 4-5 pre-set messages. Something like radio buttons for message A, message
B, message C, etc.

My browser already makes feedbacks selectable, I only have to type the first
letter.

Bricklink famously ground to a halt, twice, because it got hacked. The site
may have been restored to working condition, but a lot of us want nothing to
do with risking exposure of our financial accounts to anyone who may be lurking
behind the scenes. Sellers don't want to give Bricklink the level of control
required to accept payments through Bricklink. Bricklink has announced that
in about a month, they plan to scuttle offsite Paypal as a payment option, without
even taking any input from their core membership. The reason stated was that
new, usually one-time buyers, can't figure out where the payment button is
when they select offsite Paypal as a payment option, so they plan to basically
cut off any buyers and sellers who refuse to use any other form of payment, and
who especially want nothing to do with any onsite Paypal options.

Make offsite Paypal an opt-in payment option. Sellers obviously have to select
up front which payment options they will accept. Make all _buyers_ voluntarily
choose to see offsite Paypal as a payment option when checking out. If a seller
does not accept any other payment options, have them flagged as "does not ship
to you", just like if they were from another country and didn't have your
country enabled for shipping options. If a new buyer signs up, they should be
required to read an explanation of how offsite Paypal works, and confirm that
they want to be able to choose that as a payment option before they even see
it appear in lists.

But seriously, don't chase away a bunch of your regular customers in the
hope that you might be able to "grow your business" on the bank accounts of people
who just get sent here to buy a replacement part that LEGO Consumer Affairs can't
provide, or who are looking for just one retired set, and will never log in again
after they receive their shipment.

Was there not a page in my account settings where I could select my payment methods?
And a filter that hides stores that do not accept my payment types?

Then all what needs to be done is make the default setting for accepting Offsite
Paypal "OFF". (I would not recommend the name "offsite Paypal", I think that
name only makes sense within the current discussion. )

Maybe it was this one... https://www.bricklink.com/storeSettings.new.asp

And yes, save offsite Paypal as an option.

That page has been disabled for a while, however buyers can choose their acceptable
payment methods in the advanced search options and Paypal is still listed there.
Not sure about wanted lists cause I don't use that feature, but am sure I
have seen it mentioned somewhere.

https://www.bricklink.com/wantedSettings.asp?viewFrom=P

Even the payment method element is flawed in design terms. We just had to cancel
an order from someone who chose to pay in euros via Bank Transfer. We only accept
UK pounds for bank transfers and that is/was stated in our terms but because
we aaccept euros (accepted currencies) they were allowed to choose that currency.
Currencies should be defined against payment methods. If you set up bank transfer
you should be able to say GBP only and have that as a viable payment methods.
Again it is not a complicated thing to do - you could have an all radio button
or individual buttons which would need to be marked by the stores for what they
will accept.

They have gone the other way - here are the currencies we accept and here are
ther payment methods you can use. ?????????

Mentioned in other posts, I am submitting this as a separate suggestion.

The goal of the $1 payment is to preclude new members from making false orders
and thereby avoid time wasted on pulling order items, attaining packing supplies,
calculating shipping, etc.

Perhaps there is also a benefit with regard to new sellers. Not sure.

I recognize there will be process, payment, and accounting challenges for BrickLink
administrators, along with maybe an undesired initial action to become a member,
however this proposal would screen out false buyers, and benefit the integrity
and positive experiences of the entire new member, buyer, and seller community
-- which for my part is a key reason I'm here.

Don't pick and pack until you're paid.

This site is for selling and buying.
The lesser restrictions the better.

Enable instant checkout in your store.
That will solve your problem.

In Suggestions, matejo writes:
Whether X = 0 or some short optional range between say -3 and +3, I suggest
that any seller be able to approve of new zero-or-low-feedback members before
they are allowed to check out.

As a heads-up courtesy, new buyers can be advised by BrickLink, via a notice
both near the cart symbol while shopping and in the cart, that checking out will
require the seller's approval.

Attaining approval would require a BrickLink message from the prospective buyer
to the seller requesting to check out. In lieu of a better indicator, this message,
or perhaps more importantly the simple effort to send it, would allow a seller
to make an approval or disapproval decision.

The seller makes a decision, with ideally everything being on the up & up, and
a bona fide order and purchase follow.

However the rule and process is set up, it can be deconflicted with the "Disallow
members with negative feedback" rule.

- - - -

A better solution that what's above, to minimize time-wasting
fake orders, is to have all buyers pay BrickLink a dollar or euro before being
allowed to order.

I for one am happy to pay a dollar, although I cannot speak for anyone else.

- - - -

I've welcomed several new buyers to BrickLink, and I hope to welcome more.

On the flip side, I spent an hour-and-a-half pulling eight sets last Thursday
night, in order to identify a good shipping box (which to free up involved shifting
around several more sets) and to attain an accurate overseas shipping quote on
behalf of the customer, assuming the best with regard to their intentions. I
did this promptly within three hours of order receipt, in order to set up a timely
invoice.

I almost took everything to the post office the next day, in order to get a better
weight since the big box covered my small scale. Thankfully the member's
first negative arrived before that, and I decided to estimate the weight.

This morning, I spent another hour getting these sets back to their storage places.

I did all this on behalf of someone who is playing a mean game with several BrickLink
sellers ... ... ... simply because he can as a new member. Furthermore,
he's now at -4 and has the BrickLink greenlight to order from unsuspecting
sellers. The wasted-time toll of this false buyer round remains TBD.

My sets are safely stored wherever they fit throughout my place; I do not have
a crystal ball to store them in some purchase and ease-of-access order; and I
do not have a warehouse facility.

In light of such service efforts, extensive or otherwise, sellers should be able
to screen new buyers, even if such an evaluation is limited to interpreting a
message.

Or have everyone pay BrickLink a token amount before receiving buyer privileges.
Probably not easy given payment means and currencies, but it would likely alleviate
an ongoing and possibly growing issue.

Yes, not having to find the message ID and the correct problem page would make
it easier to report messages. That would help.

An icon could be added next to Cancel and Reply, which could take you directly
to the reporting page with the message number already filled in.

After getting nearly 200 spam forum posts in the last few days, it seems that
this suggestion would be a good addition to the forum page.

That's feedback and it's unrelated There are businesses with low feedback
scores and hobbyists with high scores. It doesn't tell you anything about
the legal form of the transaction.

Nonsense. A “hobbyist” with several sales a week isn’t a hobbyist, whether they
are incorporated / registred / whatever or not.

Several sales a week of a €0,04 part doesn't make it a business.
The ordervalue is more important than amount of sales.

Right now Bricklink is a mall of actual
shops and people having little garage sales and from the front end there's
no difference. That strikes me as odd.

The not differentiating between stores is one of the charmes of Bricklink.
Buyers have the most chance to find the parts they need.

Whenever I order things that are on my wanted list and the order arrives and
is checked and completed, it would be nice if the items I just got shipped are
removed from my wanted list, so next time I go shopping it only lists the parts
I still need from my wanted list and not the ones I received in the last (few)
order(s).

Would this be possible for bricklink admins to make changes to the ordering system,
so this can be done automatically? (maybe like a checkbox you can set)

Are there other people who would also like this feature or how do you guys
do this? Do you go through all your wanted lists and delete the items after you've
received your orders, or do you forget to do this and with another order you
order (some) parts double ? (like I have done many times, after which of course
I go through all my wanted lists and remove those parts, to not make the same
mistake again)

1. You can already do that:
  a. within the Wanted List with “Apply Order,”
  b. just after checkout “search items in my wanted lists,”
  c. from the Orders page (a scroll-like icon whose presence depends on a setting
I can’t find)

On My Orders Placed page click Customize display:
https://www.bricklink.com/orderSettingsCols.asp?v=p&viewFrom=O

2. How would BL know if and when you’ve received all the items in the order?

  Hi,
the "Hide Items if Have Qty is ≥ Want Qty" option in wishlists does not work
any more.
Thanks

It's a known technical issue.
