The "buy wanted lists" feature currently suggests stores that have stop listed
the buyer if the other criteria the buyer uses are all met. This seems pointless.
Why does BL suggest a store that refuses to sell to the customer?

Of course, once I go to the store and find out I am stoplisted, I can least favourite
the store and then exclude least favourited stores from the wants list calculation,
but surely it should automatically exclude stores that refuse to sell to me (just
as I can exclude stores that will not ship to me).

Check the checkbox Exclude stores that stoplisted me

Yes of course we do comment our parts (go see our store) but when customers pass
through a wanted list and ask to see parts available from a store the damaged
parts are not identified before you procees to cart and payment and you have
to verify every items one by one. When you search for a set, you can request
to avoid incomplete sets. What we suggest is the same system that will give customers
the opportunity to skip the parts listed as damaged.

It's possible to search and see only New or Used:
https://www.bricklink.com/searchSettings.asp?viewFrom=P

In the same time, the damaged parts will stop having impact on average price of good used parts.
Incomplete sets doesn't affect the average price of sets.

It's possible to de-select the average price:

Hi, we would like you to add a damage tick box under the used condition that
would work like incomplete set tick box. That would avoid that customers buy
damaged parts without knowing it and will level up the average price to what
is should be.

If buyers weren't aware of damage, the part wasn't correctly listed:

Used Parts - Parts which have been previously used and are presumably still
in good, usable condition.
If the parts do show excessive wear, discoloration, excessive scratches, other
marks, etc. this should be noted in the *Comments* field.

Hi, I'm not sure if it's actually a suggestion. It might be already in
place, but I'm just missing it?

I'm unsure if I can see my invoices (both for orders I have placed as for
orders I have sold) in BL. For all I know, they only get sent by email. Which
is kind of annoying, since I have to switch back & forth between the website
and my mailbox to complete orders. E.g. for searching out the IBAN number that
was in the invoice.

Not only that, but sometimes a buyer requests another sending method, which will
alter the price. It would be very useful to have kind of a version history on
the invoices of a single order.

In general, I believe email is fine for notifications, but all data should be
inside BL, including the generated invoices.

If it isn't: it would be very useful to store the invoices.
If it is: can someone tell me where to find them?

Thanks all!
Henri

Invoices for Placed orders are always sent to My Messages.

Many discover they CAN be accessed via the bypass password.
They're not open regularly because Bricklink didn't apply all settings

This long and incompleted process is hurting Bricklinks reputation and business,

Admin,
Please complete every setting of the process and confirm once the process is
completed to these new sellers.

Thank you.

Bump.

Dear Admin,

Please communicate with the many new sellers waiting for months to become verified
and clarify how long their New Store Verification process is going to take.

The silence has become painfull and is hurting Bricklinks reputation.

(My other post goes into too much detail, so I'm pulling out my actual suggestion
into another post.)

I recently purchased from a seller who is now suspended. It turns out, there
were warning signs buried in his feedback about three or four pages back, but
most of his feedback was positive.

I realized after this experience that there is no indication about the seller's
positive or negative ratings, like there is on eBay or Amazon.

There is a number which can indicate the feedback count, but this is not helpful.

If instead of a flat number, it indicates the amount of positive/negative feedback,
I would have dug deeper into the seller's feedback. At least I would have
known that this seller was a risk, and there was a 1 in 50 chance he'll take
3 weeks before he ships.

You can click on the words neutral and negative to view only the neutrals or
negatives.
There's already a feedback percentage shown.

I (seller) currently have an order with pending item removal requests that I

invoice with the items still remaining in the order.

The Classic view does exactly the same as the New view.
For many it can be helpful enough to know about the existence of the Classic

Why not turn off the need for a bypass password for any stores that are not using
instant checkout since they are going to need to manually send an invoice/calculate
shipping anyways. It would help reduce the restriction errors buy quite a bit
and help sellers by not making them wonder why their sales have dropped off suddenly.

I thought the restriction errors are only occurring in stores with instant checkout
and/or instant invoice enabled.

useful to see those parts missing for a specific project without destroying its

That scroll attempt also caused other screwups, like the cursor and entered text

But doing so yields an unpleasant surprise: my response is sent to a black hole
instead of the actual sending party.

I (now) know that the member address can be found in the body of the email, but
two things:

1 - Would I ever really want to reply to 'blservice@bricklink.com'? (No)

2 - Replying on a mobile device where copying text segments (the email address)
isn't very easy makes this situation worse

I can't think of any good reason that the sending member's address ISN'T
the one provided upon receipt and would respectfully suggest that it be changed.

Receiving Bricklink messages by email is an extra service and not intended to
be the standard communication method.
Advised and preferred is to use the Bricklink messaging system to contact other

Messages related to orders will be attached to the order.

orders? Maybe even different lot limits

You can with the new instant checkout shipping settings.

I don't mind small orders ($2+) in the USA, but international orders are
such a pain that I dread anything under $40. Now the customs forms are a minor
hassle, but buyers often don't understand English well, are annoyed at me
over the sky-high USPS rates (as if I can change them), and if I make a mistake
and have to ship a missing part, it costs a fortune.

I don't want to shut off international sales altogether because international
resellers place orders I love. But orders where the postage costs more than
the parts just aren't worth it.

Contact the seller about your issue instead of bringing Bricklink on ridiculous
ideas.

I would have to close my shop because the order values I ship will not be worth
the postage.

I ship 99% of my orders in taped/bubble wrapped envelopes or bubble mailers so
I don't see why you wouldn't contact the seller.

In Suggestions, chetzler writes:
I think all sellers should be required to ship their orders in corrugated cardboard
boxes. I recently received an order of 24 NEW

Part No: 59349 Name: Panel 1 x 6 x 5

59349 Panel 1 x 6 x 5
Parts: Panel

from a 5000+ feedback seller. All 24 of them were thrown into a Ziploc baggie
and that baggie was crammed, along with the other lots in the order, into a flimsy
bubble mailer. Well, you can imagine what the surfaces of those panels looked
like after be squished and tossed from conveyor belt to conveyor belt as they
made their way across the country before being shoved into my mailbox. If they
had been shipped in a cardboard box they wouldn't have received nearly that
amount of abuse.

Therefore I suggest we force all sellers to ship orders in cardboard boxes.
Some orders, such as one or two figs, would probably be fine in a bubble mailer,
but rules are rules and we must enforce them uniformly and without mercy. We
must protect the entire community from the few sloppy sellers that are out there.

If a buyer receives an order that is not in a cardboard box, he must send a picture
of the package (with mailing label visible) to Admin. Once Admin approves the
picture, the seller will receive a non-negotiable negative feedback. If three
such feedback are received then selling privileges are revoked.

I ship 99% of my orders in a box already, so I don't see why this would be
such a big deal.

(yes, I'm making a point but I'm not making up my experience or my store
practices)

Before the website overhaul at Mass feedback it was possible to select Seller
or Buyer orders.

There were more Seller/Buyer order functions split in a weird way after My BL
was separated in Seller and Buyer, like Order and My Messages.

In Suggestions, wozke writes:
  Dear team,

I would like to propose a small change to the "Mass Feedback Post" functionality.

Situation:
I use the "Mass Feedback Post" function a lot, giving feedback to all customers
once an order is shipped. I use the link on the "orders" page of my store.

Problem:
The "Mass feedback" page lists both orders that were made in my store, as well
as orders made by me in other people's stores. This regularly causes me to
praise stores I bought lego at to be "great buyers" Since it's not possible
to change feedback once posted, I can't give them the feedback I want.

Analysis:
As a User Experience Analist, I often tackle these kind of UX problems. In this
case what a user expects from a funtion (giving feedback to customers) differs
from the actual functionality (giving feedback to all orders that qualify). As
the user is in a customer context, it's strange that the "buying context"
is mixed.

Proposed solution:
There are multiple ways of solving this of course, one of these two should work
best I think:

1. Split the functionality. From the my store orders page, clicking the "mass
feedback" link should list only orders from buyers in your store, not the orders
you placed. From the "my orders" page it should work the other way around fo
course.

2. Divide the screen in two: List all orders in your store first, list orders
you placed below them clearly indicated as a seperate list.

I hope someone recognizes this as a problem as well, and I hope you find this
a valuable suggestion!

Kind regards,

Wouter Slager
