  Hay Guys,

New to bricklink just noticed that you can't setup a different postal/shipping
adress then billing address.
Would be handy there's a lot of people living in different countries then
born.
Sometimes it would be easier and cheaper to send package to Motherland.
Regards

At checkout you can enter a different ship to address.

Not possible, also for privacy reasons.

  Hi,

With the exception of one message (October 13) without the standard subject "Regarding
BrickLink Order #_______", all of my Inbox and Outbox non-Order# messages over
the last few months have been removed.

I did not delete these messages, and as a matter of routine do not delete any
BrickLink messages, since they're eventually cleared out after six months
or so. Recent messages are important, because they provide a record of shipping
quotes and other communications with potential buyers.

Please restore them, Matthew

Don't know what you didn't do, but I've no messages missing.

I have just had an instance where a buyer has placed an order in my store and
paid with an echeque. I had set the status to clearing whilst the echeque cleared
and the buyer has
gone and placed another order which instead of creating a new order has been
added as an addition to the old one. This is making things messy.

My suggestion is that any order set to clearing should have the same status as
paid or packed and not allow any additions but create a new order.

Why didn't you set the order status to packed after you set the payment status
to clearing?

Hello all. I have been going through the Members - Feedback ratings list, going
on page 21,158 to find information on something that I have been wondering about.
Well in doing this I have seen thousands of users that don't seem to be
"active" users. So I am thinking the 731,476 registered users is somewhat irrelevant.
Many are a once and done, sort of user.

I would like to suggest, that leaving the registered user count intact, but add
the count of "Active" users. Have BL not count the inactive users after say
6 months or 1 year, of actual log in date. This would give us all a better idea
of how many actual users are using BL. This could work just as the purge orders
after 6 months. This would still allow a user to log in after being put into
not active, and then would be in the active number for the 6 months or year.

What say you?

Dave

Sorry, implementing would be a waste of time and resources.
It would be disappointing to know how few really 'active' members BL
has.
There used to be a site visitor counter below on each page.

I have been waiting to open my store for over a month. I am more than ready to
start selling. Do you need help in this department? Volunteers to assist in matters
like this?

Cheers!

The process takes approx. two weeks after you complete the necessary steps. You
only completed at least two of those steps two days ago. You've been waiting
a month only because you didn't thoroughly read the information. I agree
the process could be simpler, but the information is there and simply needs to
be given the appropriate attention.

A better suggestion might be for BL to create an unambiguous list of things a
new store needs to do, with green ticks generated automatically against each
item as they're completed, with a "submit for review" button only available
after all other steps have been ticked off.

Agreed. All the information is there.
We've three people not understanding which settings to use.
They'd entered an unnecessary Store bypassword which keeps their stores locked.

Funny, I was thinking about it this morning and then received an e-mail that
the main Dutch second hand trading website Marktplaats.nl has just implemented
it: iDeal as a payment method.

This is not as much a major issue as supporting IBAN, but still it would be really
nice thing if BL would choose to add iDeal. More than 300,000,000 transactions
the Netherlands per year, most Dutch people are comfortable with it and use it
regularly. The Netherlands is a large country on Bricklink, so I think that if
it is not hugely complicated to implement, it would be a really good upgrade.
And, for the Bricklink team probably very nice: It is an onsite, instant checkout
compatible payment method.

https://www.ideal.nl/en/

Aliexpress also has it (and offers buyers protection), so it should be possible
for Bricklink too.

Hi, in the section Catalog/Statistic there's a old feature "top sold".
The feature seems a little bit buggy, because if you search "top sets sold" the
full result list contains mainly minifigures, parts and accesories.
Anyway, the resulting list is limited to few rows, compared to the catalog.

The complete feature for searching all the sold sets/minifg ordered by historical
total sell count could be a great help both for buyers and sellers.

The cherry could be the drill-down in detail of any record to see the chart (or
the plain data to keep it simple) showing the sell counts over year (or quarters),
or only the best and worst selling period in the set life.

Example:

PAGED LIST OF THE HISTORICAL SETS SELL COUNT, ordered by bestsellers, filtered
per year range.
In addition, after clicking on the set 7621 Indiana Jones we discover the sells
count distributed over the time from 2008 to 2017.

This information isn't interesting or necessary, which probably are the reasons
it still doesn't exist.
Comparing sets of any age is like comparing apples and oranges.
Hopefully Bricklink invests in more useful features.

change orders,
inventory

These two can be done by clicking on the My Store shortlists on top of each page.

  report problem order

This can be done by clicking Problem Center below any page.

  add/change catalog etc
I don't see any purpose to changing this to a streamlined version.

The graphics are big, but how big do they need to be to see orders pending, orders
awaiting payment orders awaiting shipment? It is a lot of wasted space.

I would like to be able to x out certain displays, ie the feedback.

I don't understand the purpose of the change? is it to enable mobile? because
a phone app seems vital.

Aside from that, if working from my PC, I like the current set up and don't
see why change to the new would be mandatory.

There seems little point to telling people to complain to help desk or make constructive
criticism there as it fails to get a feeling from community.

Note also, I am making PRAISE: the current myBL page works.

believe this should be prominent.

And the "How do I find Items?" page is not what I'm thinking about. Maybe
a short youtube video explaining where the numbers are on Lego pieces, what they
mean and how to look for pieces you don't actually have. ie set inventories.

Thanks for considering,

Tyson.

Below each page are the Helppages.

Wilbo, did you click on the link and read the page? It's not very useful,
especially for a new user.

Did you click the correct link, as it provides a buying tutorial explaining step
by step the process:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=10

My point was it should be more prominent than what
it is currently and more helpful. Which Jennifer has pointed out is in progress.
I hope when the video is done it is front and center on the main page, not buried.
The main page I believe would be used by new users most. I don't think very
many return users use it, but that may be a bad assumption on my part.

  Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you to Teup for writing this post. I've heard from many
other users about this and since we certainly have no intention of "killing"
the European market, nor do we want any users to feel marginalized, we've
decided to allow IBAN for new sellers again.

Here's how it will work:

-New sellers who have not upgraded from a buyer in good standing† will need to
go through the verification process to open their store and will also need to
request IBAN permission.

-New sellers who have upgraded from a buyer account in good standing will need
to contact the help desk to request IBAN payment.

†"Buyer account in good standing" = Has had an active account for 100 days and
has received positive feedback from 5 different legitimate sellers.

***All new sellers will be required to have at least one onsite payment method
available in their store in order to accept IBAN**

I'll be updating the help topic for onsite/offsite payment methods and will
mention this on the new seller verification page as well. If anyone would like
to request IBAN for their store, please send me a direct message.

Thanks!

In another thread someone brought this to my attention:

Offsite Payment - No longer available for new users as of June 8, 2017.
To cover various payment options, BrickLink also provides Offsite Payment Methods.
Please note that BrickLink cannot provide any transaction related support for
the Offsite Payment Methods listed below. All responsibility for Offsite Payments
is solely upon buyer and seller.

I'm lost for words. Does Bricklink really want to kill the European market
or something? In my real life I don't even know anyone with PayPal (or a
Credit card). In the NL €20,000,000,000 is spent in webshops per year, and almost
all of these transactions are bank transfers. Almost no-one that I know will
consider PayPal, certainly not since it costs money while bank tranfers are free.

IBAN has really become simple in use; Transactions are free, fast, and bank account
numbers have been standardised to IBAN recently. Interfaces for bank transfers
(such as iDeal in the NL) are thriving more than ever and are the undisputed
standard.

And now Bricklink is moving in the opposite direction.

They will lose the Dutch market, which is the 4th largest country on the platform
in terms of store count. Bricklink always seemed a bit America First but this
decision right here really changes my opinion of Bricklink. I personally will
survive since it doesn't affect existing stores and I will move more of my
business over to BO which does support bank transfers. But they will certainly
scare away lots of potential customers here, and for new sellers this is crazy
unfair. This is either a huge mistake or Bricklink just isn't interested
in the European market..

Please support my suggestion to re-enable IBAN/Bank transfer, also if you don't
use it. For an accessable and thriving site that benefits all of us, and a site
that is fair to everyone.. it's really in all of our interest if you want
Bricklink to be #1..

The buyer selected the cheapest method.

  Voted no.

In fairness for security of buyers, I would only vote yes if sellers were required
to offer a payment option that allowed recourse at no penalty (fees, etc).

Over the years I have read many forum messages about buyers losing money due
to using IBAN (often in the hundreds of $, euro). Bank transfers don't seem
to be in the spirit of fair e-commerce between individuals. Registered businesses
may be a different story.

Aliexpress offers Buyer protection for IBAN payments.
If BL implements a buyer protection program, they could use AliExpress as example.

This time it is Jeremybryan , regitered on August 11 and placing the order within
10 minutes.
Never logged in since and as said above no reaction on invoice, message or email...

I started and will cmpl the NPB incl a negative Feedback.

Only bad thing is that within the system the parts are stuck for a min of two
weeks.....even three weeks if he/she reply's to the NPB with a "bogus" message.

In my eyes this procedure should be a lot shorter,

My suggestion would be:

-Make starting the NPB possible after 3 days instead of 7!
-Make completing he NPB possible after 3 days of starting it.
-If buyer reply's to the NPB within the three days then make completing it
possible 3 days after that.

This way the parts are not stuck so long.

It's especially annoying wenn the new buyer doesnt log in inbetween the order
and the completion of the NPB.
It's a cmpl waste of time.

The NPB is a payment reminder with the intention to get the payment.
Sending payment can take more time than 3 days, for example a bank transfer isn't
proccessed during weekends or holidays or sending a money order or cash is relying
on the Post.

In a worldwide market there's also a day/night difference.
The time between the seller sending an invoice and the buyer seeing it varies
too.

The buyer can always select Cancel the order and accept penalty.

Please note as Seller you can cancel any order anytime anyway, and relist the
items.
You don't need to go through and complete the NPB process if you believe
money is more important than warning others and you can always reply to an unwanted
feedback.

I know that a payment sometimes takes more time but i wrote already in a reply
that if i sent an invoice and three days later i start the NPB then there is
still 3 days to complete it wich makes a total of 6 days to recieve a payment.
This should be enough to recieve the payment.

In most cases the NPB will be started much later.

Canceling the order is not a good option as you can still get a neutral or negative
FB from the so called buyer....

It's definitely not about the money, its just the time to t takes to get
your part available again.

Yes it is, being able to relist faster is a faster chance of another paid order.

An examplle is an order i got,

Sent invoice and no reply or payment for more then a week.
Started NPB and within a day the buyer replied to it telling shipping was to
high...revolving in an extra 7 days before i could cmpl the NPB.....

Just cancel the order after the buyer replied.
Then you can relist your items and you aren't punishing this new buyer for
replying.
Explain him shortly how BL works instead of chasing him away.
I only complete the NPB and leave a negative for buyers who don't reply.

I do not know why someone would need to be remembered of them longer than 6 months.

While that's all fine and dandy, the number next to

Hello Admin,

Please consider adding a link to Item in Order Removal Request when clicking
the Problem Order link on the Order Details page.

Currently it's only possible to Cancel the order or start NPB, NRS or NSS.
It would be much useful have IORR added.

Thank you.

I think that it would be a good idea to mark sets that are sold as incomplete

You may exclude incomplete sets in the price guide. However there seem to be
sellers who continue to list incomplete sets as complete, and just add to the
description what is missing.

Check for example this set (Lot #121748782) which is listed as complete:

  Hi,
I would like to see quotes highlighted like invoices are, so that when a quote
comes in I see that I need to act on it - I keep missing them and the sales that
go with it.

I do find value in them, so please those that hate them or wish for them to go
away, please respect this and reserve your negativity for another location and
stay away from this post - we all do business in our own way - thank you.

So it would be good that when I click on the store I get the following messages:

X orders not invoiced
x orders not shipped
x feedback not completed
x quotes not quoted

Thank you,
Kind regards,
Dave

I'm tired of not being able to ask for a quote on an item through the system.
Twice in the last day I have sent an email to a seller asking for a quote and
then have then change the price of the item. It's making me want to just
put through the order and then cancel if I don't like the shipping terms.

Changing price after an inquiry sais any about those sellers.

Bricklink really needs to swings towards the buyers in terms of usage. Take
care of the buyers and things work out better for the sellers. Catering to the
sellers just creates a poor buying environment.

And, of course neither seller will honor the price that I was asking for a quote
on. Of course not. If the thing is in my cart waiting for a shipping quote,
they shouldn't be able to change the price.

Unfortunately the quote feature is designed to cancel the quote completely if
1 item is sold out.

That was another reason why we didn't implement it. It is flawed. Works for
some doesn't work for others. The other big thing from our point of view
is that we would end up doing all the work for the quote and that may be wasted
as the supposed buyer doesn't accept the quote (We process orders first, not
last).

Only Quotes I don't process, postage is based on the weight and packaging.
