Just a general comment for anyone else in this situation. When sellers have
huge quantities of items (like 10,000 plates listed) it's not usually an
accident where they're looking to give huge discounts. The higher quantity
of parts you have, the higher price you can charge. You won't be doing them
any favors by asking for a 50-75% discount on something that they'll surely
get their asking price for in a reasonable amount of time.

I think it's a long shot, but you could message the handful of sellers who
have the quantity of the parts you want directly and ask them for a discount.
Not likely to work, but better than a random forum post.

In Wanted, spectar writes:
Hi all. I am desperately searching for a U.S. seller that has discount pricing
for massive 4073 purchases. 2-3 cents a stud is not feaseable when buying this
many. $800 is not within my budget. Hoping a store is willing to do bulk discount
prices, especially for buying such a massive quantity.

Colors and quantities I'd like are below. I will settle for a little less
if need be.
Yellow: 10K
Red: 10K
Blue: 10K

Hoping to get this for no more than $350 not including shipping. If the price
is right I will strongly consider buying more colors. I love lime, orange, trans-light
blue and pink as well.

Hoping someone can help! Thank you!

All that I am suggesting for this is that I think it would be nice if there
was a tab in Stud.io to request new parts to be added in upcoming updates. I
don't know how plausible or logical this request is, or if I just accidentally
suggested something that is way too big or hard to do.

Thanks,

In Problem Order, runindude writes:
  Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for some help with an issue. This is my first time posting in
the discussion so I'm not sure if I will do everything correctly. I placed
an order from [snip]
for 55 series 11 blind minifigure bags sealed at $5.94 each. It was a great price
which is why I purchased them all.

The seller filed a false OCR stating that he didn't have the inventory. Five
days later all the minifigure bags were reposted in his store as opened/verified
at a much higher cost than what each bag was listed for. Obviously he didn't
want to sell the items for what he had them posted and decided to cancel my order
and repost for more money.

What can I do to file a complaint against this seller or have them removed from
selling on Bricklink? Any help is much appreciated.

Removed from selling here because they changed their mind? I'll agree they
(assuming this is the entire story) didn't go about it the right way but
removed from selling seems a bit dramatic. What if the seller thought they were
sealed but later realized they had all been sliced open under the back flap?
There's lots of reasons why this could have happened, including your hypothesis.
One thing is for sure you bought 55 of them sealed and they have 63 series 11
opened sets for sale, so you can't possibly be 100% correct.

As another person said, add to your least favorites and move on. This isn't
some corporate entity you were hoping to score a crazy deal on, just some seller,
another person just like you who may have just made a mistake. Was everything
handled properly? I'm not sure, I'd guess no since you are still quite
upset about it. Sorry it didn't work out but there are much worse things
in life to worry about. Probably not the pitchfork-in-hand response you were
looking for.

  Stay Healthy and Happy Building!

Ok, so I'm not the only one who finds it ridiculous! He obviously didn't
pay attention and was in a rush when he ordered. Then he looks back at the order
and see that there are damaged Parts with pictures. That's why he didn't
consult me first before leaving neutral feedback. I think that's the only
reason he didn't leave negative feedback. People sometimes...🙄

Thank you for the tips, but they are a repeat customer and left me the exact
same words twice but one being positive and the other neutral. I looked at their
feedback they left and it is all positive except one. Again, I appreciate the
tips!

In Problem, calebfishn writes:
Years ago, unofficial colors that turned up in the market were thought of as
test pieces. They were rare, and people collected them. Often, the color was
red.

The past couple of years however, have seen dozens of items show up, with hundreds
listed on Bricklink in a rainbow of the most desirable colors. Some sellers had
complete monochrome minifigures with all parts, headgear, and accessories in
transparent, and other highly unusual colors, and they had dozens of each. Definitely
not rare, but still at prices making them quite lucrative. Darth Vader helmets,
(both parts!) Star Wars blasters, and Thor's hammer Mjolnir were also available.

It is pretty obvious that this much variety, in these colors, are not mistakes,
or test pieces, but more like a small industry, producing thousands of parts.
It now seems, that these items are the product of a form of employee theft,
using Lego factor molds and materials so that the items would have the correct
Lego logo and numbers. This was more common in some countries than others. It
seems Lego took notice of this problem, and Bricklink apparently has been cooperating
with Lego in clearing these misappropriated, or counterfeit items from sale.

I have no doubt that many people purchased items in good faith, as a novelty,
or in hope of selling on as rare collectables. And those people sold to other
people who honestly believed they were getting a real, official, Lego product,
and put them up for sale in their store inventories. I expect some of these parts
will continue to show up in the supply chain for quite some time. Unfortunately,
the dishonesty of some people has probably damaged the collectable market for
true mistake or test parts.

Anyway, that's what I've concluded based on the observations and information
I've been able to gather. If you come across such parts, they should be reported.

Your analysis sounds correct.

Over the years, there have always been items that have leaked out the back door
of factories, parts warehouses, and model shops. Some of them are/were bona-fide
Test items and other rare colors that were made for legitimate reasons and found
in storage. Some fortunate people have had authorized access during special
tours and visits to sites like the model shops and have been lucky enough to
have been allowed to acquire items like this. Some have even been gifts or special
one-time sales deals to Lego User Groups (LUGS) and Lego Train Clubs (LTCS) or
other organizations or AFOL event coordinators. Some are even part of regularly
authorized deals.

These legitimate acquisitions (always) come/came with Non-Disclosure Agreements
that include DO NOT Sell stipulations. I believe that most of the people who
have been able to get items this way have honored these agreements. Over time,
however, and as items pass from the original holders, these old agreements sometimes
get forgotten, etc.

There are lots of examples of stuff like this, most of them I am sure very few
people know about and I won't disclose any specific examples here.

But this (new) phenomenon of (factory workers) intentionally producing unauthorized
items using LEGO assets with the intent to sell is all very different. Hopefully,
this type of activity does not put a firm end to all of the legitimate and authorized
channels that still exist. That would really suck.

  Hi everyone,

I've tried to search the catalog for these three items using
different keywords. There was no hit.
Could you help me please to identify the items (part number ans/or name of the
minifigure).
Thank you in advance

Kind regards
Wolfgang

Most genuine printed Lego minifigs have a square printed on the neckpiece (although
not all, judging by a quick glance at the catalog). Missing that print would
raise the flags immediately for me, especially on both of these torsos.

  3. The seller wanted you to pay with an Amazon gift card instead of PayPal. I've
never used an Amazon gift card before, so I don't know how they work, ...

You buy an electronic voucher and give all the details to other other person
who then redeems it.

Amazon say not to do this as no legitimate business would request payment this
way:

https://www.amazon.com/giftcardscams/b?ie=UTF8&node=15435487011

I'm guessing an actual PayPal account would have revealed more about the
seller than he or she wanted the buyer to know.

I have submitted another change request for the set that has that part. In fact,
I believe many of those parts to be wrong.

Just noticed. The other parts will come later.

You wouldn't happen to own 4344, would you?
I think there are nine more Very Light Orange production parts, but this set
is very hard to come by. I've had no luck finding it.
