I recently started using Bricksync and it works well however the "blmaster
on/off" option confuses me a little. it says you're supposed to never
change your inventory and stuff unless that mode is on and when you are done
you then turn it off however nothing seems to "break" if I change/add
things without turning it on and then later turn it on and off to cycle it to
process any changes I made. So my question is, am I missing something important?
I dont make it a habit to add stuff unless it's on but want to know if I'm
misunderstanding and it doesn't make a big difference if you add stuff without
turning it on or what.

Why does it said not to play lighting up matches, even if in 99.999% of cases
it may not pose any problem?

In a general meaning syncing is a really difficult problem.

You don't often give the right to your computer to freely copy, edit or delete
your data or files.

Syncing is what it does.

Problems are: what is the correct reference? What if there's a change in
both? If this item isn't on A, was it because it was deleted voluntarily
on A, or because it's just missing? And plently like those, including
what happens if something supposed to be in this reference computer (when I built
the list), doesn't exist anymore when I start the sync process...

In short, dont light up matches - or learn a LOT before

good points but when using my previous syncing program it worked fine before
where you could add or change or delete anything at any given time and then whenever
you want then proceed to update everything accordingly. but as you mentioned
i should research ltos which is what I'm trying to do as i cant figure out
why it says that only that it does . it could say that for a simple reason
so that you dont forget to update your inventory or it could be for the reason
that it could break your entire inventory but that's the tricky part since
i cant figure out what exactly is the reason not to do it so hopefully someone
here knows

"The BrickLink Master Mode lets you edit your inventory on BrickLink and
incorporate back the changes into BrickSync. Note that all order checks are
paused while in this mode
. Use blmaster on and blmaster off to hop in and
out." -- the first quick tips on the home page

As far as I can tell, you have probably been lucky enough to not get an order,
which would trigger a sync on the other platforms inventory, while you are editing
your inventory. You could potentially cause an issue where your edit gets overwritten
with inconsistent data. Or, you submit an edit with inconsistent/incorrect data
over a synced item's data.

I would start trying to use the blmaster command consistently so you don't
have to learn the hard way.

yah, that paragraph is good at telling how to use it but not too much about the
why
