Hi all,

I recently bought 2 Futuron Monorail sets (6990). The trans blue antennas are
of a different color blue. See image. The ones on the left have the same color
blue as the other trans dark blue colors in the set, so I assume that the 'light
blue' antennas on the right do not belong to this set.

If I look in the catalogue however, it appears that trans light blue is not a
known color for round top antennas, there is one for sale though, for a huge
amount of money...

There is one set with trans medium blue antennas (4748), but the bricklink picture
of that color is darker than my antennas.

Can somebody clarify?

- can these light blue antennas be part of the 6990 set?
- if not, from which set are they?

Anything else you can add?

Thank you, F.J.

The antennae in your picture definitely appear to be trans-medium blue. The BL
picture (I guess it's actually a render) of the trans-medium blue antenna
looks darker than it ought to be.

One way to tell for sure would be to put the ones you have under a blacklight
- IIRC, trans-medium blue fluoresces.

The new feature of showing-parts-with-the-requested-color helps here as well:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&colorPart=74

If you compare the pic of the antenna with others, it is obvious the color is
not very well presented for that part.

Niek.

I think the one light blue antenna is mis-listed - the seller note seems to indicate
it is the 'b' variant (flat top).

Yes - and the image/render for the part in this color looks more like trans-medium
blue than trans-light blue (which actually isn't any lighter than trans-medium
blue). No surprise that there's a good bit of confusion.
