| In the set:
a new version of right wedge 41747 appeared (but not for the left one)
The new part 5711 at the front in the comparison photo has no supports on the
inner sides like the older part has (at the back we can see the old version for
the left wedge)

New left shell has part number 5830.
What was the point of introducing a new mold for a perfectly fine part?

| I know the number for the left one but it was NOT included in the set.
The reason? Perhaps to save some costs leaving out the support on inner sides?

As far as I know, the old version should be cheaper to produce. It has thinner
walls, with the "supports" being there to increase the thickness where
necessary in order to still make contact with studs.
I find it strange that they made a separate ID for this change though; although
they did introduce 3556, basically 3001 with thick walls and no middle supports...
which I guess is also identical to an older edition of 3001 :/ Different times,
different qualifiers for what's a new mold?
As a general trend, they also seem to have moved a lot of parts from 5-digit
IDs to 4-digit recently without any significant changes?

I think it is related to the new material they are using to produce the parts
recently.
