Who knows how to find out the number of types of parts based on color for each
Bricklink category?
Roughly speaking, there are 100 articles in the category, each of which exists
in a certain number of colors. How can I find out the total number of unique
SKU-color combinations for a category? Thank you!

That all depends on how you define 'exists'.

The Bricklink catalogue lists 'known' meaning that the part appears in
sets in that colour.

You could download the catalog to find out all part numbers, but that would not
tell you all the known colours. See https://www.bricklink.com/catalogDownload.asp

You could download the PCC catalog to find out all combinations that we know
a PCC for, but that would not tell you the known colours of older parts nor the
part that we do not know the PCC for.

When you use Studio, you could consult the downloaded BricklinkMetaData that
Studio caches. This includes the price and colour availability for the parts
known to Studio.

Finally, you could go the other way round and start with the colour (https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp)
and there the number of distinct known or available parts for each colour is
listed.
