I have a buyer that sent me a message that he'd like to remove a couple of
items from his order. I'm not sure how to do that and I've not been successful
at finding out how on my own. Can someone please direct me on how to do this?
Thanks.

the simplest method would be to refund the items they no longer want and if unpaid
then just add a credit to the order for the value of them (there is a "official"
way but unless they are high $ items it can be way to complicated to try to save
5 cents in fees)

Perfect. Thank you.

Keep in mind the buyer has to approve this. I've never, not once had a buyer
figure out how to do that. Refunding or crediting the part is far less of a headache
for both parties IME.

Perfect. Thank you.

Keep in mind the buyer has to approve this.

AND the order must not be paid.
Otherwise not possible.

In this case, discuss with the buyer, maybe refund or Coupon the few parts you're
removing (not sending) manually.

But then, parts should be reuploaded

Final option in this case, refund everything, then you can make him change the
content.
But you lose PayPal fees... complicated...

If it is a missing part from my store I try to get it from one of the sets that
I have on the shame pile, larger everyday...

If is the buyer that wants to remove something I explain them how to do the request
using that page, so they change or removed qty as they wish and then I am the
one that have to accept it, and so the parts can be returned to inv automatically.

This is what we send to our customers - I have it saved in a file so I can just
copy, paste and tweak the instructions to them...

How to Complete an IRR (that I have sent for a missing item)
We are unaware if you have had the opportunity to process an Item Removal Request
(IRR) so we are writing to let you know of the steps.
You can log into Brick Link and if you click on "My BL" Dashboard and
then look for
"Problem Orders" & "Item Removals" under the Orders Placed Heading.
You should see IRR's pending or something like that. Go ahead and click
on it and approve
the deletion of the item. You have the option to deny the removal but that will
not do anything besides keep the item in your order and we'd have to invoice
you for it but we’re not able to provide it as we could not locate one in our
yet to be entered inventory.
If you were not able to get to that location, you may be able to go into your
order and check somewhere in the heading to see if there is a clickable link
for the IRR....hope this helps. As soon as you approve the IRR, we will be able
to invoice for the remaining of the order.

Instructions for a Customer to process an IRR:
This is something that you can initiate the process on yourself as well.
One the Orders Placed page, all the way at the bottom in the Gray section under
the MORE Heading, click Problem Center, then click "Items in Order" and
you can modify any order as you wish, deleting entire lots or reducing the quantity
of the item....

It is a 2 step process, so if I initiate it, you will need to approve...or if
you initiate it, I will need to approve.

Hope this helps!
