Hi all,

I'm relatively new to buying lego on Bricklink, but over the last year or
so, I have been slowly building up my pirate collection... I'm curious as
to how some sellers have 100's of minifigures that come from new sets (such
as - the new eldorado fortress). Can these be bought from lego directly?

I have the same question for other items, like some people have 1000's of
one type of brick, and they are NEW. Where do they get them from? They are often
sold cheaper on Bricklink than what they cost on the official lego site. Where
do these sellers get them from??

It seems like there is another lego world out there that I don't yet know
about....

Cheers, any info you have would be great.

Ciaran

New bulk bricks sold cheaper than by LEGO usually come from bulk quantities of
sets.

Hmmm, so you think that someone buys 100's of a set, then sells them off
in bits and pieces?

I just watched a video in which a "smaller" BL store (under 400K total
items) parted out 37 copies of a set. So yes, "larger" stores absolutely
do part outs of 100+ copies. Maybe not all at once though.

Wow, I thought about this but I discarded the idea as it sounded not possible.
For example, following with El Dorado, with a 30%, it would cost around 150€.
For 100 sets it would be an investment of 15000€... I see why it is hard to compete
with big stores, that is an investment hard to make.
Also, are these 100 sets directly bought to Lego store? I thought the maximum
was 5x sets per person... special privilages for physical and established shops?

some stores dont have limits. for example, if I buy from lego I can only get
3 or 5 but if I buy from best buy of all places I can get as many as I want.
some stores (mostly in Europe) if they have a physical store can get bulk from
lego pretty easily otherwise it can be a little difficult
