Hi
I have been adding items to orders for the last 2 days and they are now all saying
either 'system error' or 'out of stock'. When I tried to add
an item to one of the stores it added that item but deleted all the others. I
really don't want my orders to disappear as I've spent ages adding them
and will not remember which stores had which items. Any advice/help appreciated.

I guess you only left them in your basket and done nothing else with them.

You probably should have bought the parts you needed in badges making ‘sub orders’
that would finally make a complete order.

When you put items in a basket they are not reserved for you until you checked
out.
If someone else has the same parts at the same time or at least before you checked
out the items will disappear from your basket.

So, next time, check out with part of the order you want to end with, make a
note for the seller to keep the order open for a while, add items to the new
basket in the same store, they will be added to the first part of the order and
cumulate until you are really finished making 1 order and it secures your basket.

Putting parts in your shopping basket does not reserve them for you. Most likely
another customer happened to buy all the things you were preparing to buy. That
can happen. No ill will as nobody can see what's in your cart but you.

The recommended workflow is to gather everything you want to buy in a wanted
list and then - in a short time span - match your wanted list with actual orders.
The [Buy] tools may help you with that.

Some shops allow you to create orders in multiple batches. They will offer a
shipping 'keep order open'. Nowadays, these shops are rare - as this
does not match well with the instant checkout function.
