Hey there,

Today I received an NSS from a first-time buyer that was missing one part from
a 15 lot/133 item order that was a sub-part from one of the lots. Order was shipped
day of the order (1/24) and received on 1/28, so it is far from an NSS. I have
reached out etc. (have not heard back), but just curious what anyone's response
would have been to this.

Side note, I have seen many other shops just block first time buyers/new users
and I have thought it foolish to turn down sales. But at the same time, no feedback
left most of the time and now an NSS. Might go the same route myself. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

JDP

I've had it once before but the buyer had lots of feedback. i simply sent
out the missing item and they removed it and that was the end of that. technically
they arent doing anything wrong when they file an nss. i wouldn't recommend
blocking new buyers as the vast majority of them are completely fine and you'll
loose a lot by not letting them buy. many buyers don't leave feedback but
that isn't reason to block them

I agree they were not doing anything wrong and you are correct. It has been more
than not just leaving feedback but I certainly am not one to turn away business
when that is what we are all here for. I think I was just being cranky

NSS is the correct thing to do if the buyer is missing a part in an order that
is sent and received - although the buyer should probably have reached out to
the seller first and not made the NSS his first communication.

FWIW, with one exception I've had nothing but good experience selling to
first-time buyers.

It was the not reaching out first as I sent out my personalized drive thru with
communication asks/instructions should there be a problem as well as my store
terms lay it all out. We got it worked out!

It's most likely the result of a flaw in our system and not just an unforgiving
buyer:

NSS is for orders not shipped at all as well as incomplete orders.

If you don't hear back from the buyer, refund the buyer the cost of the missing
piece, even if it is 10 cents.

I refund to the penny for anything, I could not agree more. Thanks for the tip
and the link!

So you sent an incomplete order and now complain about the buyer saying something
about it and want to punish all new buyers over your mistake.

I do not get these draconian measures and lack of customer understanding. Put
yourself in your customer's shoes and then do everything to fix it. I have
made mistakes with sales, and fixed it, at a loss to myself, but the buyer was
left satisfied and returned for more.

As for leaving feedback, I am buying from sellers with thousands of feedback
and they dont leave feedback either.
