That usually only happens if the buyer didn’t pay onsite. If the buyer hasn’t
paid onsite then you have to manually change the status to paid but onsite payment
is required if bricklink has to collect tax so if there is tax on the order and
it wasn’t paid onsite it might be best to cancel the order. The simplest workaround
tho (there are several) is simply mark it as packed then mark it as shipped

Actually can’t remember if that’s the order to do it but otherwise you can change
it here

I believe we recently closed that loophole. Orders that aren't taxed properly
are a real problem for us.
|
Since we, as sellers, can't control buyer behavior, and refunding payments
like this costs us money and hassle and possibly a lost sale, there should be
a way we can manually submit the tax payment to BrickLink.
I know, very complicated... but an obvious solution.

Can the seller issue a credit for the amount already paid, then send an invoice
for a nominal amount? I realize this wouldn't get the full tax amount but
it would (in theory at least) allow the payment status to be paid, and the order
to be marked as shipped.

Isn't an easy work around to only allow onsite payments (for orders where
tax is due) and, where they need to be manually invoiced, don't have a line
in the invoice about sending paypal payment to XXXXXX@XXXXXX.com. Maybe even
a line in the invoice saying complete the onsite payment at Bricklink.

If the seller uses the same e-mail address for PayPal *and* BL communications
(which the buyer can see), the buyer can then send payment via PayPal to that
address regardless of what the invoice says.

Yes I know.
The default invoice template says something like: "Please send a grand total
of to ..." which many will have edited
to included their paypal email address years ago when that was the norm. Removing
that line will help stop people paying that way.
The generated invoice also has "You can also pay on the Order Detail Page:
https://www.bricklink.com/orderDetail.asp?ID=XXXXXXXX". That could be changed
to "You must pay on the Order Detail Page."
