I find that many stores cannot ship to my state. I am able to look in their stores,
see that they can ship to my country and I check their terms and nowhere does
it say my state is not allowed. When I go to checkout I get a banner that says
"seller does not support orders shipping to Iowa." This happens with
most stores in and out of America that I visit. I message the sellers but usually
don't get an answer back. Perhaps it's a stupid question to ask if they
ship to my state or I seem entitled assuming its an error on their end. The fact
that it happens on most stores I try to buy from makes me wonder if it's
a problem on my end. Other then moving to a new state, is there something I can
do to fix it?

weird that its happening super often as usually it only happens with stores that
don't have onsite payments added. try looking in the payment policy on the
store term page to see if they have either paypal onsite or stripe onsite as
that needed so bricklink can collect sales tax

Ah yep the last two that I still have in my sent box don't have anything
about onsite payment, just that they have PayPal as a payment option.

It simply means that the stores do not have an Onsite payment method that allows
BrickLink to collect the necessary sales taxes. Sales taxes were implemented
a long time ago, and if these stores aren't messaging back, it's likely
that they just aren't active stores. You can tell them about the Onsite issue,
or more effectively, shop at stores with more and active feedback.

I only have 2 stores in my messages like that currently and the last one seems
to be active but that is some pretty good advice.

Try a dummy order an Nubs, Jennifer or my store. We're all active and have
things set up correctly.

Checked them all and they seem to work. Seems like I'm just unlucky with
my store choices.

I honestly wonder whether these stores are still active.

Yeah of the only two in my messages still, one I see now certainly isn't.
