Hey Lego friends,

I sent an invoice to a member in Montana earlier today. There is no sales tax
computed, and there is no "Pay" button displayed according to the buyer. The
order is marked "Invoiced". The copy of the invoice does not include the paragraph
starting with "This message is to guide you through the payment process ...."
which every invoice usually includes.

Any one who knows what is causing this?

Thanks,
Hanne

Long story short, I believe this issue is traced back to a bug in the system
in regards to the site collecting sales tax. I've run into some European
sellers that will ship to the USA but that pesky "seller does not support orders
shipping to Virginia" nonsense appears. Some might recognize this in the top
left corner when u click on certain stores. Changing my address allows me to
place the order but I notice that there's never a pay button. Only thing
to do is manually pay via PayPal or whatever. Sometimes there's no option
to mark the order as paid.

Thank you! I think I'm the one at fault here. I just forgot I had an off
site payment method enabled and didn't know that Montana has no sales taxes.

Try changing the shipping price or credit/additional charges a couple times and
invoice again.

You offer 2 Paypal payment options:
Paypal (onsite) and Paypal

Did they choose the first one, the pay button should be there.
If they choose the last one, they manually have to make a payment via Paypal
to your account.

Agreed - the buyer was able to choose regular PayPal because Montana doesn't
have a State sales tax. Otherwise the system would have forced him or her to
choose PayPal onsite.

Thank you! I just saw the following message that you posted a few months ago.

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1349476

The buyer is a new member registered in Missouri but the shipping address is
in Montana which should mean zero sales taxes. As I've had no buyer selecting
an off site payment method for a long time I thought that this possibly was caused
by a system error.

Thank you! The buyer must have chosen the off site payment method. I just forgot
I still had it enabled as no buyer has chosen it for a very long time. There
is apparently no sales tax in Montana.

Then you can edit your order and change the payment method to PayPal (onsite)
and send the invoice again:
