| Has anyone here ever buy from multiple countries? I’m in the US and some of the
other overseas stores have good deals. My question is how safe is it? Has anyone
had shipping issues and/or billing problems? Has anyone ever had their
card information taken? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I’m excited to
be part of this community!!
Thank you for any info.

It's terrible! They're all bandits out there!!
They'll charge you much less money and you'll get the same or better
quality; simply a rip off!
Sometimes delays can be longer, but Doh! it's a bit further away
But it can be even faster than inside your Country - which has only perfect sellers
of course.
Imagine that!
I may be lost in translation and because it's night here and I've got
to do my usual voodoo things to catch innocent buyers, I'm in a grate
shape and it's gonna be terrific!
But please, don't buy overseas (apart in my Shop) - the remaining ones are
all bad people.
Please have a good one!
Sylvain
PS: hoping you don't have your sarcasmometer turned on.

Sincerely.
It's the same, or better (but of course can be worse sometimes).
* check if there's an itemdescription "Like New!" "Missing SW rare Minifigs!"
* check price guide for some items - if the price seems abnormally low, it's
either a brilliant seller or a rip off (especially for sets/figs/gears)
* carefully check the Feedback profile page, for problems (Neutral/Negatives)
read the seller's replies, make you an opinion
* read the Terms the more you can
* check the currency allowed; if possible avoid to pay in another currency than
yours
* always use PayPal, never pay "Friends and Family" even if it's said cheaper
* expect a longer delay (but avoid ground/surface/sea...)
That's all.
If you've a problem and no reply for some time (but be comprehensive): NSS
then PayPal claim.

Very safe I buy from overseas all the time. BrickLink facilities the tax collection,
so as long as you're under $800USD, you shouldn't have any tax issues
upon import. No risk of CC being stolen as the stores don't get that information;
payments are processed using PayPal or Stripe as the processing company (of
course, those sites could one day be compromised but that's like any other
payment processing solution). Please be more patient though as it can sometimes
take really long for packages to arrive. I just had an order from Germany take
longer to arrive in Canada than usual, but that's just how it is this day
with the mail. But often I receive packages from overseas faster than from within
my own province!
Also note that if you purchase sealed sets from outside of the US, that US customs
officials have the right to open and inspect anything that is imported into the
country. There's always a risk that the set will arrived unsealed.

if you are worried about card info getting stolen..
just open a second bank account with a minimal amount to use specically for overseas
purchases. set it to NOT have overdraft protection.. that way any
large unauthorized purchases over your minimal balance would get auto-declined...
it's like a Firewall

Joking aside, I have had excellent success with the 2 orders international orders
I received this week. A third order is on its way. The important thing is to
carefully read the store terms and shipping page. And maybe more important is
to read all of their feedback received and given.
Welcome!

The only big difference with ordering abroad is waiting a little longer for your
package to arrive. I've made numerous order abroad including 4 recently
(2 arrive and 2 in customs) that came from Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark,
and Thailand between $50 and $150 each. I find that it's usually better
for larger orders because of shipping prices, but have never had a problem with
it. And since all US purchase are with Paypal, you have buy protection too.
Just remember to be patient. They can take upwards of a month to arrive so
if it's urgent, stay domestic.
