Hi,

My project is to sell around 30 LEGO sets from the 90's that consists of
an entire city at once. I guess that selling sets separately on any plattform
could be a way, though I intend to invest time to search for a specific buyer
that has the need to buy the entire city.

I would appreciate a general feedback on my plan or if someone could share experience
of such a case.

Thank you so much in advance.

Best regards from Germany,
crazor

Thanks, yes I figured that and need to start somewhere. I trust I will start
doing so once I move on with my project

The problem is that almost all potential buyers interested in that era/theme
would already have many of the sets you have. Or they would only want a few of
them.

I would think you could expect to get 25-50% of the “value” by trying to sell
as one bulk sale vs individual. I think the bigger problem is that late 90s
city doesn’t have much demand period.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Yes I will do some analysis on the value
and then approach a portal that makes sense.

I like this lot, it's a pretty town, but as others said already, if I was
into 90s city Lego I'd have a part of these already. Apart from that I've
never understood the concept of buying a collection of something - the fun of
collecting is the hunting for bits and pieces, and then putting them together,
isn't it?
Not everybody agrees with that though, so you might still get a profit from it
- it's a bit complicated to go through the seller verification process here
to sell just one item, so you might be better off on another platform. On the
other hand, if you do register, you might get stuck and have a good reason to
play with more Lego in the future...

Thank you so much for your feedback. Browsing now more sets of that era I re-discovered
nice additions to the city - a dangerous path

My intention is to find someone who values the biggest part of my set and takes
on that extension plan. I for sure will reinvest the money in new sets that I
my kids are interested in

I guess after that, the remaining parts will do well on bricklink

Your kids are not interested in that? If I was a kid, I would love to have something
like that to play with!

Anywho, you've a few options:

1. List the sets individually for sale on BrickLink. Then, set your store's
minimum buy to be equal to the total value of all of the sets. That way, people
can still see the items for sale in your store, but they cannot check out unless
they buy all of them. As long as the sets are not too underpriced I think it
is allowed.

2. List the entire collection for sale on eBay or another online marketplace.

3. Try to find a local buyer/collector who is interested. Even if they themselves
are not interested, they may know someone who is. I once gave away a Lionel train
set in this manner.

Good luck!
