| Buonasera,
I received this message from an Italian buyer:
"(...) in the bricklink cart I receive this error: "Store does not support orders
shipping to Italy."
(Last order I received from Italy was Oct 3rd.)
Can any italian friend here please verify if I still ship to Italy?
Grazie Mille!

It works, tested on test account. No problemo amigo.
Apart I'm a bit puzzled you could ship 200€+ in a "tracked airmail envelope",
but it's another story.
Personnaly I've put value limits to this kind of not registered / signed
for envelopes...

Merci mon ami!
I can ship 2000€ in a Letter, pas de soucis
Because:
1. Letter doesn't mean Envelope. (I ship 99% of my orders in a box.) Letter
here means anything below 2kgs and 90cm linear measure total (and this one is
recent). Luckly we don't have the 2cm height restriction. Yet!
2. Each and every order is Registered (= Tracked). We don't use the Non Registered
option.
3. Most of them are Insured and Signed.

Here Signed for/Registered is different than tracked.
Many of our tracked letters aren't signed for; apart tracking, there's
no proof of receipt, no signature, no code...
But OK, I understand, that's fine!

I filled out my card: value 250 Euro
shipping costed about 19.5 euro letter.
Those letter options (that I am familiar with as I bought from Germany, Denmark,
Sweden,...) do not come with tracking for Canada (or USA). The tracking number
starts with letter "R" and it works only within your country.
So if a buyer files a PayPal claim, you will lose no matter what.
So I think you may be interested in putting a value limit for this option.

The ”R” means it’s an insured value shipment. And yes it’s traceable but not
exactly and not every step, for security reasons. That’s because it is a value
package - it has its own path and are not traveling among ordinary packages.
Usually takes some days longer to get there but no problem with lost packages
or PayPal claims - the post office always has the exact tracking. Never lost
any “R” packages!

No registered letter to Canada (and I think to USA), whose tracking begins with
letter R, comes with tracking. Period.
If you believe it does come with tracking, copy-paste it with one tracking. You
have sold to Canadians, so you might have one tracking and we can check its tracking
on postnord or CanadaPost.
For a "registered" letter, CanadaPost knows at what time and where it was delivered
but it does not provide tracking info. In particular, the tracking only works
while the package is inside the country of sender, but no info about its trajectory
inside Canada will be given and it does not say "delivered" neither.
For an un-registered letter, it is treated as an envelope without tracking. Nothing
will be provided.

As I said - for security reasons the tracking isn’t as precise as a normal tracked
shipment. I’ve tracked a lot of these packages on behalf of my buyers as they
tend to take longer delivery time and therefore I m asked to track them. I can
get “on it’s way”, “in Canada” and sometimes the city. And always “Been delivered
“.
But there is a difference to a normal tracked package where you may track exact
location all the time.
Also - Postnord are able to track exact location but that info isn’t public for
security reasons.

This happened to me with a R shipment to CA.
Buyer asked as it was not showing up in CA Post website, but after opening a
claim here the order arrived to the buyer and CA Post website showed it finally
but directly delivered. Then I got a reply for my claim showing proof of delivery
and a bit more of tracking history.

Not exactly. And here Letter or Parcel works the same way: Canadian Post will
not update the tracking info online although they have that info.
There's when Portuguese Post come to action asking for further details to
Canadian Post.
Then Canadian Post will confirm the delivery of the object and all the documentation
(if needed) for PayPal.
Takes a bit of time, but works like a charm.
Regarding USA, it stopped working (working = online tracking update) during covid
peak, returned working until a few months, and now it is not working again. Same
procedure, same results. At the end of the day it works.
Like I said elsewhere, these are protocols between Sender's Post and Receiver's
Post. For some rea$on these protocols sometimes cease. But the packages are always
traceable neverthless. Meaning, Receiver's Post do know its whereabouts,
even if they hold that info.
In fact, I don't remember an ocasion where the package was lost.
| So I think you may be interested in putting a value limit for this option.
|
Depending on the value of the order, sometimes I choose to send by Private Courier
at my own expense.
Thank you for your interest,

Here's an update on the topic.
The Buyer sent me a screenshot (below) and he his buying from multiple stores.
Is it possible that because one of the stores doesn't ship to Italy, it causes
messing up with mine? Some kind of bug or? What do you fine folks reckon?
(And yes, the order is well above my Min Buy)
