I am trying to build a model of this steam engine and I think I've run into
a roadblock about how to build some parts of it. Here's a pic for reference:

Thanks for understanding.

What are you having difficutly with?

Have you looked at similar models from Lego or MOC designers? Have you checked
to see if there already a MOC based on this train available? Do you have colour
pictures so that you can work out what parts are available in that colour?

Looking at that train, I'd suggest looking at the Hogwarts Express 75955
and start with that build and then modify to your needs.

There is nothing that can't be replicated in Lego - obviously it's harder
to do at a smaller scale, but it can be done to a degree.

the hardest thing to replicate is the "face" of the locomotive. mostly the little
piped part on there. if you have any ways to replicate that part i would be very
happy. also thans for trying to help anyways, its a pretty big project for me.

I would probably use clips and a 3mm rigid hose to replicate the "face" - shouldn't
be too big a problem, depending on scale.

When visiting a fair about lego trains I got a business card for the following
website.

https://brickmodelrailroader.com/

I found it very informative how to build trains and tracks. You might find some
inspiration here as well for your build.

A fan of my heart. I have been collecting train parts over the past few years
I have been planning on building some of the old trains. My best advice is just
go with what you like I have all sorts of train books I use as a ref.

Keep building with imagination. Good luck in your goals.

This was my old account before I lost it, progress on the engine is faring well
for those wondering, only few steps are building the cab and rods, and turning
the motors on. might need some further help with cab height but otherwise the
locomotive is almost finished. Thank you all who tried helping me, you helped
me get this far.
