I ship large baseplates 26x26, wrapped with a cardboard, in a bubble mailer with
CanadaPost inside Canada.

But I am not sure if this is going to be safe for shipping to USA.

Somebody ordered two baseplates and it helps to save few bucks if I ship it as
a letter, wrapped with cardboard. This way, the weight of package will be about
150-200gr lighter.

If you have any experience with shipping baseplates: is this going to be too
risky?

Baseplates are always a risk with shipping.
I try and make it as sturdy as possible, so it doesn’t bend by accident.
Sometimes it helps to write “do not bend” on the package, but it may just incite
others…..

Thick cardboard is your best bet if you don’t want to ship in a box.
